Love both your versions of the Pietra pants. I think most of us who’ve used that pattern have a bit of pocket construction head scratching 🤣🤣 but it’s worth persevering, as they look very tailored and chic! I made my shorts in the same fabric as Kelly’s pants, soooo good and a very good mannered fabric to sew with 😁😆 I’m off to see Samantha and Kaitlin’s makes now, I love their channel too 😻😍😎🤣
@@Julie_sews_her_own_clothes awww thanks Julie. I love the pietras. I thought you had made more than one pair of pietras. Oh yes the fabric was so well behaved wasn't it? Perfect to sew up the pietras in. My shorts were in the same fabric, but black. You're right the pockets and the top stitching totally elevate these trousers/shorts. You're in for a treat with Samantha and Caitlin's makes 🥰🥰
Hi girls 👋 I made a pair of tapered Pietras when they first released the pattern. I was so disappointed because they were huge on me and gave me the ‘nappy bum’ not a great look! I loved the pocket construction and the flat fronted look so after watching I think I’m going to give them another try and size down at least two sizes. Thanks for reminding me I have the pattern. These indi patterns are so expensive to buy I need to try and make at least one wearable pair!
Oh Pauline, do try again, it appears a lot of people are having fitting issues! It’s such a great pattern I’m determined to keep going til I get it right… but looks like sizing down 2 sizes is the way forward 🤔 Dee x
@@sewing_myhappyplacepauline223 oh bless you Pauline. It's a really mixed bag from sewists as to whether they are too big or fit right out of the packet. Excited to see how you get on sizing down. Kelly 🥰
I did the pietras when I was a beginner sewist, and there was no tutorial. I struggled but managed them and loved them. However, they were way too big, and I didn't have the knowledge or confidence to take them in. I haven't made them since but do want to have another go now that I have some experience under my belt 😊 love yours, well done 😊
@@jacmary6580 ahhh yes, I think I would have struggled without a tutorial the first time I made them. Luckily I didn't have any fitting issues. We would love to know how you get on if you give them another go. Thank you so much 🥰💜
Great video, thank you. I love your Pietra's, they look great. I love that pattern and have got three of them....with more to come, especially a wide legged pair ❤. When i made the first pair they were massively oversized and had to go down 2 sizes. Hope those poorly bones mend soon 😘😘
@@pinkderdlesews awww thank you so much Kay! Such a fab pattern isn't it. We are looking forward to making more. Dee really wants to make the cropped version and I am excited to make the wide legged ones now I've seen Dee's version. 🥰💜
Love my pietra’s such a nice pattern. But I did size down 2 sizes and I’m only 5ft 3, so I cut the crop length and got perfect full length, with a small hem. 😂. If you search on the internet there is a tutorial for taking the elastic out of the back and putting a zip in. Great vlog, thanks ladies ❤

Ooh, I think I need the Pietras in my collection 🤔. I made the Elisabeth Sezann Clyde Work Pants very early in my sewing journey, which are really similar but with the full elastic waistband and only in the narrow leg. I do like them but I have more than enough bulk on my body and I feel that they add more, especially giving the “nappy bum” effect 😂 Hope your injuries heal quickly ladies 💞💞

Probably the reason for using the Big4, is that in Australia indie patterns can be so expensive especially if you only plan to use the pattern once.💜🇦🇺
@@debradollisson9551 really? To be fair they are more expensive than the big 4 over here too, but only between £4 & £10. I do tend to use patterns over and over so it makes it more cost effective.
