You’re welcome ☺️
Lived there in 70.,,lovely location....Ireland.
That Old gentleman’s comment brought back memories Of eagerly waiting several days and rushing to local Chemist for recent holiday photos, The past joy of physical copies ehh Ken Sad to think a lot of those small businesses will never reopen ! Thanks for letting us all walk with you and Carol, lovely x Stephen x ATB
I remember waiting for the photos to come back from being developed and 8mm film. Instant playback is a wonderful thing 👍
I so loved this vid.. Most interesting and educational.. Thank you so much Carol and Ken..❤️🙏❤️

Thanks Kitty, we are both well. Greetings to you in the Philippines 🙂👍
My hubby and I just looked at it again Lovely little shops I'm sure it was buzzing little town before covid..Thank you..👍☘
Thanks Mary. Yes it’s always been a busy and prosperous little community. We just hope all the businesses can survive this lockdown. Wishing you all the best in Ireland 🙂👍
What a great village, steeped in history especially the old houses near the church. Hope all the local shops make it through the lockdown ok.
Thanks Mike. We are enjoying researching the history around our local area while we are unable to travel 😀 It’s going to be a tough time ahead for those local businesses that’s for sure.
I do love sussex and the countryside around it. Xx
Thanks Maggie 🙂👍
Thank you for sharing. What a lovely village. It is a eye opener to see how covid has affected other countries all these small businesses must be really struggling. Very hard times
Thanks for watching. Yes it is so sad to see so many shops and restaurants having to close down 🙁
Hi, it was really nice to see my home town and village on a video. One of my school friends lived in Seckhams, next to the viking house, my sister works in the post office that you passed. My local pub many years ago used to be the Bent Arms, it was owned by a guy who went to jail in the 60s for money laundering for the krays.
I use to live in the road that turned right as you pass it. The Tiger is now and has been for many years a church youth club.
Me and some friends used to trespass in the grounds of Old place, one day we got chased out by one of the staff. Happy days!
Glad you enjoyed the video, quite a trip down memory lane for you! Thanks for sharing all the info. We have eaten in the Bent Arms a few times but didn’t know about the old owner!
Lovely little village
Such a shame about the small businesses .
I bet the house's are not on the cheap side,
And to finish a stunning little church. And beautiful houses.
Thanks for sharing guys 😎
Than
Thanks for watching Douglas. Yes the houses are priced above average. We just hope the independent business can survive this lockdown.
I'm from the Peak District and I love looking at at British towns and villages. We're so lucky because wherever you go it's totally different. The same goes the British landscape, going from the Peak District to Norfolk as a child was a beautiful shock for the eyes. Thanks for another walk in Southern England.
Totally agree, Chris. We love walking around towns and villages wherever we go and there are some very pretty ones in the Peak District 🙂👍
Excellent video . Thanks you both for sharing 😃
Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Really nice neighborhood. We enjoyed it very much. That pond looks really nice. Reminds us of Ireland too :) Thanks for the share. Stay blessed and stay safe :)
Thanks Saad. We are lucky to have such a pretty village on our doorstep. Best wishes 🙂👍
Beautiful walk and town.
Thanks for watching 🙂👍
I really enjoyed this video, thanks for posting
Thanks Paul 🙂👍
brilliant. lovely place. thanks!
Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Thank you! So enjoy seeing this lovely little village. Love your videos! 😄
Thanks Cheri, glad you enjoyed it 😊👍
Brilliant video I enjoyed watching this...!
Thanks Tom. Glad you enjoyed it 😊👍
Keep doing. You are doing great. From Vietnam with love
Thanks for watching. Greetings to you in Vietnam 🙂
Brilliant comment from the elderly chap, "How do you develop it?"
I use a a DJI pocket 2. This is an excellent camera. The footage is superb and it is so compact.
I have the combo edition and it came with a wide angled lens. The design of the carrier case lets you put the lens in it, held magnetically.
Warning! Don't store it there. I lost it taking the camera out its casing. At £45 it was a heavy loss.
Super wee video. Thanks for sharing. Did Boots develop it😂
Sorry you lost your lens. The design of the case holding it in magnetically was obviously not a good idea. Still getting used to my DJI Pocket 2. Working out which buttons to press and making sure I am in video mode!
Lovely stroll folks. Thanks for letting me tag along.
Where are we going next week?
We will show you our favourite Sussex walk on Saturday, filmed before Covid. 👍
great video
What a fantastic video of my village lindfield .so well put together and edited as a youtuber who does alot of tongue and cheek videos of the village .love see in a brilliant showcase of my village .new subscriber here
Welcome Simon. Thanks for the sub 👍
Really love this one. Thank you!
Thanks Terry 🙂👍
What a gorgeous house from 1390. Village very busy and great to see so many people walking around. Summers must be very pretty with flowers in full bloom. Thanks for showing.
Thanks for watching. Yes the village is very pretty in the summer with all the flowers 🙂👍
Nice place.
Cheers 🙂👍
Hi Carol and Ken Lindfield looks a very special place. We are confined to barracks at the moment as my wife Jenny tested positive on Monday, was due to go hospital to morrow and was our son also coincidentally was going for a minor op on Thursday. Jenny's jab was to be this afternoon and that had to be cancelled also. Jenny and I have flu like symptoms and we ache all over and are very lethargic. We have also had to cancel our new windows and doors that were going to be fitted next week! Regards Crawford
Really sorry to hear about the Covid and all the knock on implications it brings. Wishing you both a speedy recovery at what must be a frightening time. All the best from us ❤️
@@LifeistooshortCK Thank you
Love the how you get that developed comment - those were the days. I remember my first vhs c JVC camcorder which was a brilliant item for its day and relatively small. You used to insert those cassettes into a main vhs tape body - now we are putting our camera in our pocket and sharing to the world
It’s amazing to look back on the size of video recorders we used to use and take on holiday with us! I wonder how small they will be in the future 🙂
It’s great to get out nice walk take care Ken & carol great filming and nicely put together Ken 👍
Cheers Rod 😊👍
I like wandering around old churches, thanks for letting us join you on your journey xx 👍🏴🏴🏴🏴👍🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🥰
Thanks for watching Linda 🙂👍
What fantastic heritage in such a small area. Absolutely fascinating. My list of post covid places to visit grows and grows! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it David. Well worth a visit 😊👍
Thanks for the visit. A very beautiful place. Lots of runners.
Thanks for watching Danie 👍🙂
Thank you Ken and Carol for all your great videos.
Cheers Larry. Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Thank you, dear tigers! :D It was really nice to look around with you! Cute little windows to each small business! I have high hopes that soon they get the chance to re-open! Fingers crossed to our ones too and all around the globe! bear hugs, Kata
Thanks Kata. Yes we hope all businesses are able to recover and prosper when this virus is under control. Best wishes to you 🙂👍
What a lovely neighbour on the bridge!
Yes Johan. He always stops for a quick chat when we see him 😀
A lovely walk, wish I could join in😉
Thanks Anita 🙂👍
Yes that would be nice
Wonderful scenes of lovely old cottages & business , thanks for taking me along 👍😊
Thanks for watching Wendy 🙂👍
Excellent video, lots of extra exercise setting up and retrieving the 'walk by' camera, LOL. Love the old felly with the "How do you develop the film" comment. Makes you wonder what people will think when they stumble across this video in 10 or 20 years time! Some of it is very sad to see, like the closed bakery and other businesses. Keep up the excellent high quality work, quality over 'click bait' for me every time. Maybe, just maybe start planning a few trips for summer? Take care, all the very best and Stay Safe!
Thanks Richard. It is sad to see the effect on businesses. Most of them are shut as they are not deemed essential. That bakery was magnificent, very cheap cakes but exceptionally high quality. Used to get donuts from them that were delicious. We will be back out in the van as soon as we are allowed. I have a feeling the trips will be mainland UK only as the government will be quick to cut off access if needed and we wouldn’t want to get stranded. The good thing about the van is it can be ready very quickly. Roll on the summer 😏👍
Lovely area you are both an inspiration to us all in these times.
So much to see so little time..
Stay safe..
Thanks Mary. We are lucky to be able to walk to such places until we can travel again. Take care and thanks for watching 🙂👍
Nice vlog Ken and carol. So nice to get out for a walk. A lovely village with plenty of history attached to it. Stay safe and take care both of you.
Thanks Grumpy Bear, take care 🙂👍
enjoy the walk 🚶♂️
brrr its 🥶
enjoy the views.
thank you for sharing
stay safe.
Cheers Moira 👍
What a lovely video !
I’ve just showed this to my dad who’s 89 and he remembers fishing in that pond with a friend over 70 years ago and getting told off
For someone who’s sitting at home in lockdown this has mate his day please do more videos of Sussex villages Hurstpierpoint would be great as my mum lived there
Thanks again !
Thanks for your lovely comment Chris. We are so glad to have brought back some fond memories for your Dad. Will do our best to get out to some more local villages and film them 🙂👍 Best wishes to you and your family.
Beautiful village.
Thanks Jim 🙂👍
Hello from Montréal, Canada. We love your vidéos even the ones without your Little réd camper. You are allowing us to travel during this Covid Time. Love your Monkey grill.... We have a Roadloft set-up.
Keep well.
Hi Emile and greetings to you both in Montreal. Thanks for watching our channel and we’re glad you are enjoying the videos. The Roadloft set-up looks very neat and makes good use of space with all the storage and a nice large bed. Hope you can get to travel again soon 🙂👍
A wonderful walk about and I enjoyed seeing all the British homes/storefronts and styles of architecture. As always the drone filming only added to your overall story. I fear though that since we have seen the adventures of the "little red camper", mud walking and now a walking tour of Linfield, you both may need to "up" your game. Perhaps, a bicycle ride along the roads of Sussex or maybe even a roller blading tour of the country side!
😁😁😁Haha. I think we will stick to the walking for now. Don’t want to risk going into hospital with broken bones!
Thanks for sharing. I ate in that first pub you walked past Sunday roast very nice. Take care both of you ATB
Sunday roast in a pub 😋 Wonder when we can do that again! Best wishes and thanks for watching 🙂👍
This is a great walk! Thank you!
Thanks Anne 🙂👍
Lovely video again Ken and Carol - as usual. I loved the old guy that asked how you develop your films. I am guessing some of those houses lift the national average house price somewhat!!
Thanks John, you are right about those house prices! 😮
Loved the video guys. Some beautiful houses in that village and nice to see you getting out and about. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Mark, glad you enjoyed it🙂👍
Does the spring feed the fountains in the pond ? I know it’s a naive question but please humour me.
Beautiful ‘village’ High Street, hopefully it will rise again.
Regards AJ.
I doubt it as there have been times when they have been off. I think the fountains are there to aerate it. 👍
Hi to you both, what a lovely little vlog such a pretty village to walk round, thank you so much Xx can’t wait to be back out in our VW Lwb crafter selfbuild van called Tottie she’s lush just miss being out and about in her!!! Love Andy n Jenny Martin
Thanks for watching and your lovely comment. Best wishes to you both for some exciting adventures in Tottie when restrictions are lifted 👍🙂
I have DJI pocket and I do the same, ie photo to video and vice versa without realising. But the good thing is you can video almost without people realising.
that is true 👍
Good video! So interesting to see! Best wishes to you from Norway😊
Thanks Janne and greetings to you in Norway 🙂👍
Hi both, ahh the bonfires and fireworks. Were you familiar with the bonfire societies? Lewes, Brighton, Worthing, Littlehampton etc. Most of our family were in the Littlehampton society, all dressed up for the parades. We always came down on the Saturday it was Littlehampton parade. I remember my little brother being frighted of the Lewes Zulus. I donknow if you had that in your town but I do remember it wasn't just the Seaside towns that took part. It's a shame these things die out. I wonder what will ultimately be lost from the way of ,ife in this country after covid has finished with us all. Lovely to see a bit of Sussex that not changed to much over the years.
We went to the Lindfield display for several years. They dressed up and paraded with the guy and flaming torches. Always a good turnout and a fun evening. I can remember the Lewes one being quite scary as the flames being paraded through the streets got so close to the crowds!
@@LifeistooshortCK all the societies gathered a Littlehampton on the last Saturday in the season. If I remember rightly the processed down Banjo Rd and it culminated on the green beach by the pavilion with a huge fireworks display including several settees on huge frames. What sticks in my memory is the year the Suez canal was re-opened and a display that showed Pres. Nasser and a representation of the Western end actually open. It was stunning. Then we slept all night in the Camper my dad had.
@@nigeldavey1043 what great memories. I bet that was a sight to see and a fantastic experience rounded off with a night in the camper 😀
Looks like a charming place. I'm surprised to see no one wearing masks. Here in Los Angeles, no one is allowed out without one on. Yesterday I went to the doctor's office (not COVID) and had to wear two! Thanks for taking us along on your walk!
Thanks for watching Ethan. We only have to wear masks indoors in public places and only one mask at the doctor’s! Hope you are keeping well.
What a beautiful town . Very interesting content well but together. But very surprised no one wearing mask.
Thanks Thomas. Some people do wear masks outside but it is only compulsory to wear them indoors in public places in England.
Love your red coat, Carol ❤️
Thanks Lorri 🙂👍
I live on the road sunte avenue where you went
Really enjoyed this walk with you. I had just enough time before I go in to get my vaccine. They r now connecting with us older generation. Have my bread made n meals prepped in case I get a reaction n need to rest. Thanks for the great video
Thanks Marie. Glad to hear you are getting the vaccine. Hope it all goes OK 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK thank you! For 24 hours. Really painful stiff arm. I stretched like I was swimming in the air.🤪 n used a topical anti inflammatory
I'd love a good curry and a trip to the people's parliament for a few pints of bitter.
Wouldn’t that be nice. One day soon. 👍
Truly a lovely video, I liked the beautiful houses, in Lindfield, and that they were all different, I don't know what one I would buy on winning the lottery ? Is there any more walks locally you could do, If i lived there I could take my walk every morning with my camera and get some lovely images, kindest regards to you both.
We used to dream of buying one of the houses behind the pond if we won the lottery! I’m sure we will be filming some more local walks before this lockdown is over. Best wishes and thanks for watching 🙂👍
That was a lovely walk you live in a pretty area Lindfield would be worth a walk around some lovely old houses , when you are both walking and we see you are you using the drone , I don't see you controlling it , just curious to know how you do that.
Thanks again loved the video.
Hi Shaun. The great thing about a drone is they fly themselves. All the operator does is push it to different places in the sky. Provided you are locked onto enough GPS satellites the drone will just hover above the same spot even in a strong wind. This makes it just like putting a camera on a tripod. All I have to do is put it in the right place to get the shot I want and set it recording. At that point I can drop the controls down and just walk. You can of course get much more adventurous and that is when you need to know how to make it move and film as you want it to.
Such a lovely tour. I really appreciate the history lessons along the way. And a great idea to do a drone overhead view of the town/ village before you do the walking tour. I really got an idea of the layout. Thank you both, and Carol, how DO you stay so slim?? :) Mary
Thanks Mary, glad you enjoyed it. Carol tries hard not to overeat but she does enjoy cake 🍰 😊
@@LifeistooshortCK cake is my weakness!
What a lovely video. As a transport fan, I need to know - was that bridge at the beginning over a railway line? thank you.
Yes over the main London to Brighton line.
Viking used to be a milliner
Very interesting, thanks for the info 😀👍
Thanks for sharing Ken & Carol lovely walk.how you getting on with the new drone ? need to start flying mine and using the pocket 2.
I am loving the Mavic Mini 2. Doesn’t have the bells and whistles of the Mavic Air 2 but I have not missed them. Much easier to carry and paired with the Pocket 2 it makes for a compact setup. I was worried about how the mini would perform in strong winds but to be honest its coped very well. The Pocket 2 is good, I just can’t master the triple tap to switch from selfie mode to forward facing and that is why I keep accidentally switching it into photo mode which is a disaster when you don’t realise it. I find the small screen is pretty useless for me as my sight is not as good as it used to be. There is a work around though that never fails. If you have updated it to the latest firmware pressing the power button turns it on in selfie mode. If you hold the button next to the record button it turns on in forward facing mode so that is how I will use it going forward. 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK Thanks Ken need to do the updates on mine haven't used both this year yet.finger surgery has stopped me having a play.
The Humphrey’s Baker died some time ago- not of Covid.
Sorry to hear that Jenny. Thanks for letting us know.
good vid
Thanks Lee 😊👍
What are those weird looking trees by the church
Not sure what those trees are, maybe limes like in the High Street?
So strange to see people out walking without masks. We haven't been able to leave our houses without a mask for many months now.☹️
Nope.
We do see some people wearing masks outside but it isn’t mandatory here in England.
Where are you? Spain? Nonsense wearing a mask outside.
Just on the pronunciation of the virus, why do you say COV...ID when everyone else says COVE...ID ? Hope this makes sense ...
I think both pronunciations are correct. It comes from Coronavirus, so the first O can be pronounced with a short O sound. Also, in my country, majority say Koh vid (not Cove vid), because we don't have the long O (or long vowel sounds) in our native language. It's like to-may-to vs to-mah-to. Cheers. :)
Don’t really know the answer to that. It’s probably a regional accent type thing.
It looks like somebody has gone mad pollarding all the trees in that village. I hope they follow it up with expert tree care. A bit disappointing not to see more people wearing masks in these pandemic times. I know you were keep good distances from others, but ‘belt and braces’ doesn’t hurt. Anyway thanks for keeping us entertained.
The mask wearing outside is a difficult one. Our government and medical experts spent several months telling the public they were of no use whatsoever in defeating the virus and actually could cause more problems due to germ build up having stuffed it in your pocket or worn it around your chin for most of the time. At the moment masks are not compulsory outside but they are in shops and public transport. We wear them inside but rarely outside.
@@LifeistooshortCK I fully understand. Clearly you can’t wear masks, nor should you, when out filming in wide open spaces. It was more of an observation that the public don’t seem to accept masks unless forced to do so as in shops etc. It’s the same here in Scotland, but at least I think the Scottish authorities have been a bit more consistent and clear with their message (and I’m not an SNP fan !). Stay safe and Best wishes to you both.
A charming place . Thanks for the walk.
Thanks for watching John 🙂👍
