      Thanks! We were both really impressed how much we could feel the heat from such a small flame but it seems to burn pretty hot!

      Thank you! To see fire coming out of water was a very impressive geological phenomenon! However, the best part of the day for me was the food! 😆~JB

    The scenery looks beautiful. The fire! Wow! I preferred the second story too. The clay pot chicken looked delicious. Happy to see you both are enjoying your time in Taiwan!

      What we've learned is that this particular natural wonder was more impressive prior to the 1964 earthquake. It's still an impressive natural phenomenon. The food was excellent! But the fish really did take center stage that day. Mmm 🤤. Do you still have plans to move to Taiwan? ~JB

      @@Justin_Leah Absolutely! Just waiting for an opportunity. I reached out to Sunday and waiting for a reply. I know tourism just opened for tourism. I also noticed there’s been changes to the requirements for teaching. Hopefully things will work it self out.

      Chinese culture has such amazing legends and they vary from regional region with Taiwan having its own unique take on certain things. That became really relevant to us when asking people about the lunar New Year celebration.

    The water fire cave is not much to see honestly, but there are quite a few hiking trails with great view.
    In cooler days, the combination of hiking, hot spring, and chicken is perfect for a day trip.

    • @Justin_Leah
      @Justin_Leah Год назад +2

      We really love the chicken! And the fish! We still think that it is an interesting geological phenomenon. We tried to find photos of it dating back to before 1964 to see if its size was any greater than what it is now.

    • @kikawang
      @kikawang Год назад +2

      @@Justin_Leah It was much bigger at least according to older people. There was a big earthquake a few decades ago that broke up the fire across that area, since then it shrunk significantly. Now we locals don’t go there so much. BTW, forgot to add coffee to that mix.

    Looks like fun. I know Taiwan just lifted basically all travel restrictions and I was looking to visit in March. Are most places open fully? Are masks still mandatory in every nook and cranny of the country?

    • @Justin_Leah
      @Justin_Leah Год назад +2

      Yes the country is fully open. Some nationalities must still go through quarantine, so your passport will actually carry a lot of weight. And yes masks are STILL required everywhere. Have you been to Taiwan before?

      @@Justin_Leah I'm American. I've been to Taipei International Airport about 10 or 12 times for layover to Malaysia, but that obviously doesn't count. According to the health board it seems like they are gradually trying to drop them but according to Formosa English News, it looks like they will stay in effect for the duration of winter to help mitigate against the spreading during rhe cold season.
