Guys never like never ever use an EQ before anything in the master chain always is after glue or multiband use it just before a limiter, fix your instruments or vocals eq separately then send the signal with good eq to the master chain and the master chain is more clean and is just little final touches in the eq.
@@CauntryBoyGhtry it, clean your session and do the unwanted eq in your channels no on the master bus, less work for clippers limiter parallel compresor and yeah works for her but listen carefully her songs there are distortion like a lot at least she tried it harder and I like that, she’s going to somewhere at high level.
I think it depends on the EQ profile of the particular record and how you want the master bus compression to be manipulating the stereo mix. For example, on a bass-heavy record if the compression I’m using for glue is catching the low end in a way that’s pumping at a middle ratio or just dulling the dynamic movement of the mix at a low ratio, then I will apply a dynamic eq before the compression to tame those lows just enough so that the glue compression can work a wider frequency range of the stereo mix. Then I’ll apply another EQ after that compression to bring the lows back to the balance I want to hear in the mix. I might lose a bit of the punch and/or dynamic movement of the low end this way, but if it’s in service of making the whole mix sound more cohesive, and bring more focus to melodic elements in the mids, then in most cases it’s worth the give and take. So yeah, I think it definitely is good to have a default order on the master bus at the start of the mix which you know well and can rely on-especially if you’re mixing into it or using it to check your mix’s balance and levels along the way; but when it comes to the specifics of how to finish with the master bus chain, I personally always take it on a case-by-case basis according to what the record, genre and client needs. Btw, I think the amount of saturation/distortion on a vocal is very taste-based these days. Listen to the top popular songs out now, across genres. Some vocals are (relatively) crystal clear; others are very saturated. So rather than say someone’s vocals are distorted period, it might be more constructive to ask if that was an artistic decision and intent, or say that they sound too distorted to you for the song. Maybe the latter was implied, but context is everything these days 😊
Your adjustments are really subtle and I noticed the change in sound when you used the SSL G-Master Buss Compressor. I wanna reach your level someday. I'm grateful that you showed me how to use many of Logic's stock plug-ins. The "keep making beats" you say at the end of the video is also really cool! I'm looking forward to your videos and songs :)
I usually add the SSL to my Drums group also with aprox -3 db gain reduction. . It helps gluing them together before gluing everything together in the master with another prob -2 to -3 db GR.
The waves' ssl comp is really awesome! And there's a free alternative to this, by Analog Obsession, truely nice, and also veeery close to the hardware version.
If we're still planning on sensing the track off to be pro mastered, would you still recommend finishing our own mixing with somemof these plugins on our mix bus?
Valentina, your productivity output is very high. You are among the very few female producers at you tube that produce at such a high level. You really deserve 300 k subscribers because you are rare.
Can you make a in depth video on how tou achieve your vocals to sound so crisp and clean and fitting Inside the beat.? I've noticed before you even put a single plug on they sound very sharp right off the bat. Also would a deeper explanation on how you get so nice sounding harmonies. Thank you
Hiiiyaaa valentinaaa I love your videos!! It would be more dope if you could do some fl studio videos and also I can tell you’re still using stuff from splice which is another W love yaa ❤
Your song sounds Great. Just that Really No One Preset does it for every MIX. the Mix Engineer needs to understand what each perameter is designed for and know how & when to use it. One thing I would recommend is to add another Light( "FILL" Light ) ...I feel it's a little hard to view you recent YT Vids ( put one on your RT. & ajdust the right Kelvins & I think this would make things less drab. Otherwise I see the growth in you Skills since you started. :) Very Good! George Amodei

Thanks for watching! Comment what you'd like me to talk about in the next video.
One of the only RUclips channels where I actually like the music being used for examples. Keep going!!!
love the ssl comp. dope record!

Why
If that works for her it’s just fine. But yeah I’m with you, I use eq after compressor and saturation, the eq it’s my last plugin before limiter
I’m not with u guys coz ur compressor is over working and that can bring distortion so it better u Eq the unwanted freqs b4 compression 👍

Thank you this is so helpful! Just got the SSL G-Master Buss Compressor in big part because of this video

Good job ☺️👏🏻
Omg I love that song already
nice work flow, dope record!

Awesome video. I just learned I’ve been using it wrong.
Can you do a video on how you mix your vocals to get that radio ready sound
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve posted several videos going over my vocal chain, but more coming soon :)
Those were some great tips 👏
Thanks for watching!

High level 🎧❤️
the adaptive limiter is a life saver, i usually set mine to 0.3 though.

Thank you. And thanks for watching 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
is what You did mastering or mix Bus ?
Some Times i get confuse, i don't know if this is mastering or mix bus to make the song ready For mastering
In this video I’m working in the master bus. For the sake of the video, I’m mixing and mastering in the same project.
Great video, but whats the difference between that plugin and something like OZONE?

Hey my friend. Can't think of any to talk about right now, but i'm gonna check out anything you put up.✌
Thanks!

very layman question (noob here) - Instead of doing multiple plugins for clipping and compression, why can't we do that clipping from EQ?
yep its nice. i like the tune
so SSL what other cheap alternatives do i add under the ssl on my master buss

Nice I'm On 🥰
Great Vid!!! lower ur attack to 10 or 30😊
Great song, I think u can go louder though based off your readings. U have a beautiful voice 🎉🎉
Valentina you did not put any vocal autotune?
I don’t really use autotune often on my own vocals, but I do use pitch correction. That’s what I’ve used in this video :)
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🙌🙌🙌🤘👌
I have one question , Is this on your Mix Buss ?
May be just me but when I click a music production video and not see pro tools idk it’s refreshing 😂✅
whats the name of the song please?
Super Smart To Do Spanish Songs
I use SSL Bus Compressor 2 with my SSL UC1 this is awesome. Waves is not good for me. This plugin toy 🤣
Why females not like this in my city? lol
