This wasn’t really a surprise who won tbh, hulk was shown beating up Loki, doomsday was shown beating up Superman and was able to fight the justice league by himself. This was a one sided fight lol

We've also had the Immortal Hulk storyline since this video aired. Since Doomsday basically gets no play in DC anymore, Hulk's developed a LOT more in 8 years. I feel like if they researched for the episode today, it would've ended differently.
Doomsday has my favourite “origin” story out of any comic book character ever. It’s so insane. Whoever came up with that concept is probably actually a serial killer.

I love this episode so much and a lot of it is because of the battle and the death. The battle here is on par of some of the best fights in the series, but the death is what pushes it beyond. It will always be the most brutal to me. Jon vs Sabrewolf had the intestines followed by the last synapses of a human dying before us, Silver Samurai vs Shredder had the overkill to the point where the devil splattered him, Goku Black vs Reverse Flash had Black survive the worst case of road rash before exploding in a supernova, but this was different. Doomsday impales Hulk with poisonous barbs to immobilize him. Then, he starts his barrage that should have killed Hulk by the first few strikes. However, Hulk's overclocked healing factor is barely hanging on a thread, which for most situations is a good thing, but here is terrible since instead of ending it all, it keeps Hulk alive just enough to take the next hit again and again. He feels everything and he can't do anything to stop it since he can only heal to be beaten up again and nothing else. Then, Doomsday gets ready to end it all, but makes sure that the last thing that Hulk sees, feels, and hears to be his killer and his name, taunting him as Hulk could not be the hero and he failed. These thoughts go through Hulk's head as Doomsday rips and tears his head off in one pull, not cut with his spikes or sever with anything on hand. Just one pull as he roars to start his terror again on everyone else as no one comes to save the day. That is why it is the most brutal death in the series hands down, and probably won't be beaten anytime soon.
The best endings to fights in Death Battles settle into your brain as the natural conclusion to the fight's story in regards to pacing and actions. Beerus, Tj Combo, Doomsday, and even as recently as Stitch all have fights that end with a shocking revelation on who wins but have emotional peaks that satisfy us *on* the win. With Hulk vs Doomsday here, the fight feels like the peak or end of an Act 2 of a story where after an intense slugfest and heartpacing violence the chapter closes with a sombering and harrowing loss to an unstoppable threat. Its why the ending of this fight continues to be famous, it hits extremely well.
I'm assuming they didn't want to show humans getting killed. If you watch most of their vids there 's usually no casualties involved. They wanted to show that Doomsday will murder anything living when approach.
To be fair, this is probably one of the greatest Death Battles ever. Two creatures with similar powers and fighting styles so they just punch until death! Rock on!
One of the worst, right up there with Darkseid curb stomping Thanos *with* the Infinity Gauntlet. Starts Doomsday off at his most powerful level, but no (at the time) Worldbreaker Hulk because reasons.
There is nothing "to be fair" about here. That is a ridiculously overused and incorrectly used phrase. The use of the phrase "to be fair" served zero purpose in the context of giving your opinion. But IMO, this is not one of the best episodes. It's actually bottom tier on my list.

They were right at the end there, except for one thing; there's not just a limit to how fast the body can release anger chemicals, there's also a limit to how many nerves are effected. In theory, once his brain is saturated in "anger" chemicals, he physically can't get any angrier. That puts a hard limit on his powers.
one way to look at it is that if it's a build up of immunity rather than a complete one, eventually Hulk's rate of anger can't keep up with Doomsday's rate of immunity and Hulk will eventually lose.
DC is wack, and their writers suck. To me its like Dc only cares about making their characters stronger than all characters that are owned by Marvel. Marvel on the other hand has better writers which leads to better characters and stories. after immortal hulk, i'm pretty sure a Hulk VS Doomsday Fight would literally just be a case of the unstoppable force vs immovable object, but they're both the unstoppable force and the immovable object. neither Doomsday or the hulk have the means to instantly destroy the other, it'd be the most destructive draw in all of history.

yoeseph worthen I don’t believe you can, as they sort of exist outside of the barriers of time. Characters like that might not even have an origin to prevent, or could just go back in time to stop someome from trying due to being able to sense someone is time traveling to kill them.
Actually the season finale was supposed to be Lara Croft vs Nathan Drake, but it had to be delayed to next season. Little did that help the episode though.

There is a lack of consistency across the 2 Hulk DB episodes. Here he loses by getting his head ripped off. In the other, Hulk gets his head ripped off and then just reattaches it. Not sure why 1 time it kills him and the other time it's just a mild inconvenience.
BEST case scenario for Hulk, even with the whole immortal thing, it MIGHT just never end. Those two would end up destroying earth. Plus, part of Doomsdays whole rapid evolution thing is he quickly figures out his opponents fighting styles. He also is no longer killable via brute force. And that's kind of Hulks entire killing potential
Very True, the most amazing ability a comic brought was “Making an character immune from an previous attack which literally killed him” once doomsday comes back he becomes immune to the same attack which caused him to be weak in last battle. This is amazing
My expectations really flip-flopped throughout this one. Going in I was unsure but slightly favored Doomsday, since he has a long history of defeating/killing heavy hitters. After your pre-fight analysis, I gave it to Hulk, because I thought his ability to get stronger with rage and Worldbreaker mode trumped Doomsday’s adaptability, which requires him to die or at least be severely injured first. But during your post-fight analysis, I realized I hadn’t accounted for Doomsday’s previous resurrections and accompanying evolutions, which clinched it.
Hulk using the two halves of the police car as boxing gloves reminds me of the gamecube game Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction where you can weaponize pretty much anything by the end of the game. Did anyone else play that?

Looking at this now, as others have said, Doomsday probably couldn’t kill Hulk the same now if at all. But Hulk couldn’t kill Doomsday either. Doomsday can’t be killed by brute force anymore which is Hulk’s only real way of ending things. And he also can’t be obliterated/disintegrated. This fight would just go forever more than likely. I think if anything Doomsday would win the fight but never kill him! Hulk would just come back. But unlike Doomsday he can be killed the same way again and again. He may come back but Doomsday would probably just end it again. If it even got to that point. They’d probably fight for years!
Doomsday can evolve in combat , like he did in HP. He could potentially evolve something that either shuts off Hulks healing factor, or absobs Gamma radiation etc.
I don’t usually root for the bad guys but…. The part where Doomsday impaled the Hulk with his spikes, completely pulverized him with his punches then ripped his head off was a thing of beauty…horrible horrible beauty!
So basically they used the end-game Doomsday, after all his deaths and fights with Superman, essentially his most powerful form of all. And used the weakest version of Hulk. Instead of using Hulk from WB Hulk they started him off as savage Hulk. They wanted him to eventually "get angry enough" to be able to compete with Doomsday. that seems like an entirely unfair bias. If you're using Doomsday after all his crazy battles with Superman, after killing him, after coming back, after having his rematch, you should have used the most powerful version of Hulk. World Breaker. Also, one other thing, Hulk tanked one million suns exploding in his face from Sentry. It didn't kill him, it simply knocked him out of Hulk form and he reverted to Bruce Banner while simultaneously knocking Sentry out. What did Hulk do then? He stood up and turned back into Hulk IMMEDIATELY. There was no delay. He got knocked down, stood up, turned back into Hulk and kept killing.
Also, Doomsday doesn't evolve to become immune to everything. He evolves to combat that specific person. After fighting and getting killed by Superman, he came back and still lost to Superman a bunch more times. Excluding those examples, he also lost to others who had the same powers as Superman, such as invulnerability and super strength. If he was immune to getting beaten to death how did he lose to Darkseid? Why didn't he just instantly counter him the entire fight? And why are you using power scaling to justify Doomsday's feats when in Goku vs Superman you didn't?
sorry but Hulk being angry enough to unlock his full potential is a canon limitation on his powers on Marvels comics offical site. Hulk doesnt get to start off in immense rage mode which has only been unlocked when his wife was killed in world war Hulk and other comics where Hulk was emotionally taxed

Factual plus doomsday is not only alot stronger than hulk, but he's also light years faster to. Wolverine and Spiderman can give hulk a good fight and even make him bleed, doomsday is overkill for hulk.
Looking back from the future, I appreciate the hell it must have been to animate these earlier episodes, but I'm so thankful for the current styles. Some of the coolest scenes here were also nigh unwatchable because of the necessary quick cuts.

Hulk would win. He pulled a planet together and that was when he was a very different hulk. And that battle with century hulk was the winner, he gave up after finding out a member of the warband betrayed him.

When superman and doomsday had a rematch, he was much stronger then the first time they fought, but as the fight was happening, superman realized that he still can't kill him because doomsday already died that way, even tho he's never been hit so hard with superman blows. I can buy the fact that hulk has the potential to be stronger than doomsday but untill he pulls off a better feat than what doomsday has done, even tho i already just stated that doomsday can't die by a huger punch that doomsday has never felt because he already died like that. I love this episode so much and a lot of it is because of the battle and the death. The battle here is on par of some of the best fights in the series, but the death is what pushes it beyond. It will always be the most brutal to me. Jon vs Sabrewolf had the intestines followed by the last synapses of a human dying before us, Silver Samurai vs Shredder had the overkill to the point where the devil splattered him, Goku Black vs Reverse Flash had Black survive the worst case of road rash before exploding in a supernova, but this was different.
Doomsday impales Hulk with poisonous barbs to immobilize him. Then, he starts his barrage that should have killed Hulk by the first few strikes. However, Hulk's overclocked healing factor is barely hanging on a thread, which for most situations is a good thing, but here is terrible since instead of ending it all, it keeps Hulk alive just enough to take the next hit again and again. He feels everything and he can't do anything to stop it since he can only heal to be beaten up again and nothing else. Then, Doomsday gets ready to end it all, but makes sure that the last thing that Hulk sees, feels, and hears to be his killer and his name, taunting him as Hulk could not be the hero and he failed. These thoughts go through Hulk's head as Doomsday rips and tears his head off in one pull, not cut with his spikes or sever with anything on hand. Just one pull as he roars to start his terror again on everyone else as no one comes to save the day. That is why it is the most brutal death in the series hands down, and probably won't be beaten anytime soon.
The best endings to fights in Death Battles settle into your brain as the natural conclusion to the fight's story in regards to pacing and actions.
Beerus, Tj Combo, Doomsday, and even as recently as Stitch all have fights that end with a shocking revelation on who wins but have emotional peaks that satisfy us *on* the win.
With Hulk vs Doomsday here, the fight feels like the peak or end of an Act 2 of a story where after an intense slugfest and heartpacing violence the chapter closes with a sombering and harrowing loss to an unstoppable threat. Its why the ending of this fight continues to be famous, it hits extremely well.
Facts this is by far the most brutal ending, and one of my favorite fights.
7 years old, and still one of the best death battles ever.

To be fair, this is probably one of the greatest Death Battles ever. Two creatures with similar powers and fighting styles so they just punch until death! Rock on!
One of the worst, right up there with Darkseid curb stomping Thanos *with* the Infinity Gauntlet. Starts Doomsday off at his most powerful level, but no (at the time) Worldbreaker Hulk because reasons.
There is nothing "to be fair" about here. That is a ridiculously overused and incorrectly used phrase. The use of the phrase "to be fair" served zero purpose in the context of giving your opinion. But IMO, this is not one of the best episodes. It's actually bottom tier on my list.

They were right at the end there, except for one thing; there's not just a limit to how fast the body can release anger chemicals, there's also a limit to how many nerves are effected. In theory, once his brain is saturated in "anger" chemicals, he physically can't get any angrier. That puts a hard limit on his powers.

one way to look at it is that if it's a build up of immunity rather than a complete one, eventually Hulk's rate of anger can't keep up with Doomsday's rate of immunity and Hulk will eventually lose.

after immortal hulk, i'm pretty sure a Hulk VS Doomsday Fight would literally just be a case of the unstoppable force vs immovable object, but they're both the unstoppable force and the immovable object. neither Doomsday or the hulk have the means to instantly destroy the other, it'd be the most destructive draw in all of history.
Realistically I don't think anything could get more destructive than Chuck Norris versus Segata Sanshiro, or Beerus vs Galaxia. (We're not going to mention hulk versus Broly because with the sound design they might as well have just stayed on Earth)

BEST case scenario for Hulk, even with the whole immortal thing, it MIGHT just never end. Those two would end up destroying earth. My expectations really flip-flopped throughout this one. Going in I was unsure but slightly favored Doomsday, since he has a long history of defeating/killing heavy hitters. After your pre-fight analysis, I gave it to Hulk, because I thought his ability to get stronger with rage and Worldbreaker mode trumped Doomsday’s adaptability, which requires him to die or at least be severely injured first. But during your post-fight analysis, I realized I hadn’t accounted for Doomsday’s previous resurrections and accompanying evolutions, which clinched it.

Looking at this now, as others have said, Doomsday probably couldn’t kill Hulk the same now if at all. But Hulk couldn’t kill Doomsday either. Doomsday can’t be killed by brute force anymore which is Hulk’s only real way of ending things. And he also can’t be obliterated/disintegrated. This fight would just go forever more than likely. I think if anything Doomsday would win the fight but never kill him! Hulk would just come back. But unlike Doomsday he can be killed the same way again and again. He may come back but Doomsday would probably just end it again. If it even got to that point. They’d probably fight for years!

Doomsday can evolve in combat , like he did in HP. He could potentially evolve something that either shuts off Hulks healing factor, or absobs Gamma radiation etc.

So basically they used the end-game Doomsday, after all his deaths and fights with Superman, essentially his most powerful form of all.
And used the weakest version of Hulk. Instead of using Hulk from WB Hulk they started him off as savage Hulk. They wanted him to eventually "get angry enough" to be able to compete with Doomsday.
that seems like an entirely unfair bias. If you're using Doomsday after all his crazy battles with Superman, after killing him, after coming back, after having his rematch, you should have used the most powerful version of Hulk. World Breaker.
Also, one other thing, Hulk tanked one million suns exploding in his face from Sentry. It didn't kill him, it simply knocked him out of Hulk form and he reverted to Bruce Banner while simultaneously knocking Sentry out. What did Hulk do then? He stood up and turned back into Hulk IMMEDIATELY. There was no delay. He got knocked down, stood up, turned back into Hulk and kept killing.
Also, Doomsday doesn't evolve to become immune to everything. He evolves to combat that specific person. After fighting and getting killed by Superman, he came back and still lost to Superman a bunch more times. Excluding those examples, he also lost to others who had the same powers as Superman, such as invulnerability and super strength. If he was immune to getting beaten to death how did he lose to Darkseid? Why didn't he just instantly counter him the entire fight?
And why are you using power scaling to justify Doomsday's feats when in Goku vs Superman you didn't?
sorry but Hulk being angry enough to unlock his full potential is a canon limitation on his powers on Marvels comics offical site. Hulk doesnt get to start off in immense rage mode which has only been unlocked when his wife was killed in world war Hulk and other comics where Hulk was emotionally taxed

Good to see they got it right... Hulk stood no chance against Doomsday.. Strong but not Invincible.. and Hulk himself isn't smart enough to figure out Doomsdays deathdance.. a good smashing wouldn't work..
Factual plus doomsday is not only alot stronger than hulk, but he's also light years faster to. Wolverine and Spiderman can give hulk a good fight and even make him bleed, doomsday is overkill for hulk.
Looking back from the future, I appreciate the hell it must have been to animate these earlier episodes, but I'm so thankful for the current styles. Some of the coolest scenes here were also nigh unwatchable because of the necessary quick cuts.

I think it depends on which version of Ben. If it's young/original Ben then he can only transform one at a time and has a time limit

Hulk would win. He pulled a planet together and that was when he was a very different hulk. And that battle with century hulk was the winner, he gave up after finding out a member of the warband betrayed him.

@J Foster actally, no. When superman and doomsday had a rematch, he was much stronger then the first time they fought, but as the fight was happening, superman realized that he still can't kill him because doomsday already died that way, even tho he's never been hit so hard with superman blows. I can buy the fact that hulk has the potential to be stronger than doomsday but untill he pulls off a better feat than what doomsday has done, even tho i already just stated that doomsday can't die by a huger punch that doomsday has never felt because he already died like that. Last thing to mention is that we are looking at these characters at their prime so doomsday has died so many times and come back that hulk dosn't have many options to kill him in a new way that involves brute strengths because they all have already happened to him and the fact that doomsday has more then enough stamina, power, and less weaknesses then hulk has, which is why he hit his limit and loss the fight. HELL, I doubt even superman can beat him at his prime
