- I forgot to include that, this video might be a bit confusing if you haven’t seen 9-1-1 or at least the Buddie sections. Or maybe not haha. This is just me talking about certain scenes that make me raise my eyebrows. Let me know your thoughts, or different views! Also, I make a warning at the end of the video but please don’t contact the writers or anyone on the production team about the ship.

Buck and Eddie are doing the 'emotional' dance men attracted to one another do. Their body language and ease in violating their male 'personal space' is indicative of an intense unspoken attraction and aggection growing between them as their verbal sparring eye contact bring them closer and closer to consummation . . . If the can put aside their fears of becoming the other 9-1-1 will have a winning addition in the series, . . . If the writers have courage and vision.

I think the man he is dating is the guy who got the 1st Captain of the 118 fired for how he was making Hen's life miserable but then transferred to search and rescue where Eddie And Buck met him . .

I have had my suspicions since the minute Eddie joined the 118. The way buck got jealous of him and the way he literally spends 99% of his time with the man and his child. I think there is definitely something there. Maybe even if Eddie doesn’t know it you can see the way buck looks at that man.

@@peachybeech2587 not to mention in that same scene, it was in fact chimney that alerted the group to eddir, saying now that's one beautiful man. As well as Hen saying he is despite liking girls. It could mean many things, like them being comfortable with their sexuality, or in fact part of a longer, larger character plot.
Now, we get with Tommy that when Buck gets very jealous of someone, it's actually because of another hidden feelings

People think we want Buck to be Bi because we want Buddie. But nope, there're just so many evidence that he's not entirely straight. Eddie's not even relevant when it comes to Buck's sexuality, that is Buck's own identity, and it would be great if writers allow him to be who he is.

I have a little more hope for Buddie though, because 9-1-1 doesn't shy away from it in either show. Look at Hen and Karen and in Lonestar there is TK and Carlos and they have a trans character. So it not like the writers are against LGBTQ+ characters or same sex couples. I think, or hope, that they are doing a slow burn, much like Teen Wolf did with Stiles and Lydia. In both these cases these couples have a huge fan following. In the case with Buck and Eddie I just hope they don't go the same route as Teen Wolf and wait till the final season. 😭

Also in Lone Star, they just had that bigger Storyline with Carlos parents but I feel like even if we're getting Buddie, there won't be much representation. Like they have LGBTQ characters but I feel like it's maybe a nice side piece for them. I mean both Karen and Michael's Bf aren't REALLY shown or is it just me. For Tarlos there's a bit more representation bc he's a Cop and and TK's a firefighter and they're both at the front lines of the show. Idk what do you think?😅

Absolutely Buck is Bi or Pan and I'm pretty sure Bobby knows.
And I don't mind the way the writers are doing it because its is honestly refreshing to see a storyline where someone is discovering or exploring their sexuality as an adult. There are a lot of people who come out later in their adulthood after many years of hetero relationships, and its honestly a storyline that would normally be done by either an off-screen character or a recurring side character.
YES yeeeeessss, exactly, I think a story line where someone is coming to terms with their sexuality later in life is a story that isnt given much light at all. Also, I agree, I feel like Bobby knows something for sure.
Yesssss, I'd also love to see a slowburn friends to lovers thing. Plus I kind want Buck to fix himself before he gets into any relationship, either with Eddie or someone else. Like he needs to be able to happy alone first and be comfortable by himself or else he's just gonna end up putting all his selfworth into the relationship like how he is with his job.

There was also a moment in season one, I think during the full moon episode, where Buck and Bobby have to help a gay couple and one of them has a tapeworm and throughout the whole interaction Buck keeps getting distracted talking with the couple. Not exactly the best evidence, but still goes to show that Buck is always connecting with the gay men on this show.

The SECOND I saw that scene, I straight up thought we were about to get bi content lolllllllllll.
In that episode, we could see some timeline Buck work in many jobs but not really detail , so maybe he has hooked up with some dude that we don't know for sure

The scene between Thomas and Mitchell (the 2 elderly men) was so heartbreaking. And his advice to Buck regarding finding lone: "You don't find it, You make it" (happen) regarding love. Also, the scene where the elf thinks they are both Christopher's dad's. I hope that happens some day!
I think in the Christmas scene with the Elf, Buck doesn't seem offended/uncomfortable but more like "Damn I wish" or like "Please don't rub it into my face" like in the way that he knows he'd want what the Elf said to be the truth but especially after the talk he just had with Eddie it seems so distant. Genuinely he had that frustrated expression when you have this massive crush with someone and know they are out of your reach and an outsider points out how good you'd be together.

There is also a very blink and you miss it moment in the Xmas episode were Buck litteraly goes out of his way to grab the miseltoe and in the final shot the miseltoe is just between buck and Eddy.
@abandon well my point is that the show makes a huge point saying that they are all BFF and all spend a lengthy amount of time at each other, yet they still make a point of pointing out that Buckley and Diaz is on another level yet.

Ugh, I wish people had calmed down about talking to the actors about Buddie. They don't have any control over if it happens or not. Oliver Stark (Buck) recently deactivated his Twitter because people were saying they would ruin him if Buddie didn't happen in the season 4 finale.
Edit: Just to be clear I have no problem with the people that ship Buddie, I do too. It's just the people who are harassing the actors over it that annoy me.

Another good clip about the Buck & Eddie relationship was the tsunami episodes when after they are rescued Eddie drops off Christopher for Buck to “baby sit”, and Eddie tells Buck that there is no one else he’d trust with his son.

Dude I literally binged the show waiting for them to get together because to me, it’s not a matter of “if” they get together, but “when.” But if they don’t it will be so fucked up cuz there has been so much foreshadowing to this relationship, like the time Buck and Eddie were on that love and everyone in the comments started shipping them. Also, the way they’ve solidified Bucks relationship with Christopher. Eddie and Buck literally seem like his parents. And idk if this is significant or not, but remember at the end of s3e3, they are playing Photograph by Ed Sheeran in the background and the line “wait for me to come home” plays and as soon as it says home there’s a knock on the door and it’s Eddie and Christopher. Big moment in my opinion. I really do think they’re just slow burning this shit and actually building a proper relationship between the two of them. I’m glad cuz having them get together in like the 4th season has a better chance at them being endgame. But I also think that Christopher being involved wouldn’t allow them to break up either.

It’s set up perfectly for it to happen. Nobody wants two new random love interests for them! Relationships between two main characters always work out so much better! I don't know if anyone else picked up on this in Buck begins but I noticed it. It was Maddie's friend at the hospital who was more than likely gay that made a comment because all of the jobs Buck has had and sending the postcards with the pictures. He said something along the lines of Buck being part of the village people. I understand it could be a joke but it wasn't needed and with all the speculation already it's either do it or not especially because this season for Buck seems like he is finally finding himself fully. I also think that it doesn't have to be this big coming out thing but more of a realization especially if the right person comes along.

I can feel some attraction from Buck side but none from Eddie. I agree that the writers at least have been trying to put hints here and there regarding Buck sexuality. I am not convinced that Eddie is Bi though, so I am okay if the ship is not happening but Buck is getting his own relationship storyline.
I mean, you could assume Eddie hasn't been flirting (even though from my perspective he has flirted quite a lot) but as to his sexuality there is this moment in season 2 I think when Buck meets Eddie's grandma/aunt?? Can't remember and he is like this is my coworker Buck and she looks at them like bish what, and then says something like Coworker Eddie? And he's like yas bish just coworker get ur head outta the gutter and that moment was super sus for me in terms of Eddie's sexuality
I just believe that Buck is figuring out things. What are his feelings towards Eddie and how will he proceed. it won't be easy if Eddie isn't into it as Eddie is not showing that intimate affection for Buck. It would be interesting if it spins that way tho

Guzman doesn't seem to like the idea but Stark is a great actor and a kind person.
But Buck is portrayed as a big baby, Buck will always have a great heart and a beautiful soul, maybe that's why we see him able to be BI.
Eddie himself is not to open to any relationship unless affect Chris, so I think If it works for Chris then It works for Eddie.

I thought the same thing like Oliver seems open to the idea while Guzman seems to be more into the idea of it just being a b romance but with the characters I feel buck with be confused about his feel and maybe be in a bit of denial but eventually accept it thought with Eddie i think he'll deny it for a lot longer or maybe make a decision not to be with buck for a while because of Christopher and he wouldn't want to bring a new relationship into his life or maybe he'll see how good buck and Chris are together and hope for the best but I just hope everything works out

Buck, from my perspective, is sensing feelings he's never experienced before. There are times when he sees Eddie from afar that makes his face just glow and then, all of a sudden, it's as if he returns to the present. Eddie, on the other hand, sees t he attraction right away. He doesn't want to appear too anxious so I think he's waiting for Buck to initiate the process. Their casual hugs and fist bumps and pats on the back see a little too sensual to be between "just friends". For me, the telling moment was when the "Santa's Assistant" mentioned to Buck that "they had a wonderful child"!!! The look on Bucks face was one of TOTAL HAPPINESS. As I am a member of the LGBTQ community, my question would be who's the pitcher and who's the catcher!!!

But, that scene I think he wanted to just tell him that if your in LA you can hang out with me. Haha. Yes, I agree that the producers seems to be pushing him in that direction. But is Fox willing to push that envelope. I would love for Buck&Eddie but not sure everyone else is. Not sure you heard or has seen movies and series in Asian countries like, Korea, China, Vietnam, Philippines and especially Thailand they are huge on what they call BL(boys love) series. Totally obsessed with them. I wish we are more accepting to that story line here and can get to there level. Love is love to me whomever the person you fall in love.

Haha I truly think Buck probably meant the comment to TK in a neutral way but the thing that gets me is the writers made TK take it in a romantic way ya knowwww. And I dunno, Fox has been very good about diversity on 911 lonestar, they have people of varying religions, genders and sexualities on their show. But that’s why some people say they wont do it on 911, because Hen is gay and therefore they’ve already met their LGBTQ “quota” ya know?

Well, of course: You nailed it. And, yes, at some point production recognized that they had created a character that simply *had* to be gay/bi. What's interesting to me is this: Prior to this occurring, what did they think they were doing? One possibility: In our culture, the 'bro/buddy' relationship (especially between 2 good looking and masculine guys) has become very appealing (particularly to straight women). I look forward to your continued analysis (especially related to Buck & Eddie), including an examination of what their relationship represented in a general sense & not simply the movement forward to identifying Buck as bi/gay.
Oliver has said they pitched the idea of bi Buck to him about two or three years ago, but he thinks pressure further up meant it never went further than that. Whether that was Fox and or the change in show runner isn’t clear, what is clear that Tim came back as show runner and the show moved to ABC, a network with a legacy of representation going back to Steven Carrington in first season of Dynasty in 1981, and low and behold 4 episodes later bi Buck is canon.

About the idea of Buck and Eddie's endgame being settled with just a mere bromance: resolution in Art is about "forbidden love", "return from a long voyage", "rescue from dire straits", "vengeance and justice acomplished" or "sacrifice and redemption". These have been the worthy, valuable and cherished endgames for thousands of years since lengthy and meaningful storytelling was invented by humankind for humankind. "Bromance" has never been included within the categories mentioned above. That is why bromance is such a bad idea for an endgame. Forbidden love may or may not apply and happen in this entirely fictional story for these characters but it would be the only emotionally satisfactory resolution for their trajectories together. Any other ending would be a very lukewarm, insipid and tepid solution with no drama, gracefulness, congruity and elegance at all.

So if you have plenty of time like me (I am in lockdown here in Brazil and almost retired, therefore barely working) you might or might not read this, because of all debating on the subject and some new relevant information on it, unfortunately, I am partially changing my previous opinion about Buck's and Eddie's fate together. Here it is (warning: long blah blah blah is about to happen):
Buck plunging in diversity and swimming towards bisexuality all by himself, in terms, that is, without Eddie but in company with another guy was always a possibility. Now that I have recently learned about upcoming episodes that: a) there will be a new fling with an until now unknown girl by Eddie; and, b) Buck will spend a lot of time with Albert, Chimney's half-brother; --- I cannot but lose much of my hope that Buck and Eddie will finish together as more than friends. I think that perhaps the writers of the show got cold feet, partially maybe because of simple demographics (some people think that Buck and Eddie, both of them, being bisexual men would be too much diversity for main characters in one show and that could be an opinion shared by the producers, who are a lot more influential on these matters than we mere fans) and partially because the rumoured (it is gossip but sometimes gossips are trustworthy) Ryan Guzmán's opposition to our (but supposedly not his) favourite outcome. Well, let's wait and see. Anyway, half a loaf is better than no bread or, as my late father used to say, "any piece of garment can protect a naked person from another person's uninvited and unwelcome prying eyes, except, of course, the waistcoat". So, although somewhat disappointing, a Buck-only solution will be at least a wearable dénouement and not a useless waistcoat for the nakedness of our preferred upshot to the Buck & Eddie's shipping.

Without hearing about any of this new information (Eddies supposed fling, and Guzmans iffy feelings on the Buddie situation...sigh) The newest episodes were already giving me a bit of a question mark above my head...With this NEW information in play, I feel like that sadly, you might be on the right track. Even in the Lonestar episode, Eddie was paired with Marjan and Buck was paired with TK. Since then I’ve been contemplating things, then when they said Albert moved in with Buck, my eyebrows realllllyyyy raised. Not implying that maybe Albert were to be the one paired up with Buck, but there is an avenue there that they could take. If nothing else, I do feel like Bucks sexuality is still on the table. Especially now that his issues with his parents are sort-of kind-of dealt with. My Buddie heart is sort of aching...

But, with all due respect for Josh, although a fine human being, he (not the actor that plays him, of course) is, in my opinion, one of the unsexiest characters I have ever seen in a TV series. He has got all the attractiveness of a saltless hospital soup.
