Thank you for pointing out the issue with captive elephants and animals. So important for people to know about the abuse they suffer in captivity just so people can take selfies and/or ride on their backs.
Thanks Jessica! 🤗 There's so much work behind the scenes. For instance this video took us a full day to travel and film. Then throw in 8-10 hours of editing 🤪 Crazy but worth it. Happy New Year! - Trevor
You are there in the historical dry season, except the last 2 years. Weather patterns all over have changed. One thing you may run across thay I found odd - an ice cream sandwich over there is a scoop or two of ice cream on a hot dog bun.
Loved this vlog! This was my first comment to you once I learned you guys were in Phuket. Need to experience Patong Beach! I agree it is a bit crazy for my taste, but has to be experienced once. I have crazy memories with friends at that place back in 2003. Back then there was an open air bar that had a kickboxing ring! Just crazy stuff!!
Agree you guys made a great choice where you are staying, we aren’t crowd lovers. The night market so many choices I too felt overwhelmed! Great video guys! ~Cara 😊
@@DelightfulTravellers yes you are right. The rental scooters usually have not even insurance for 3rd party damages, that means whatever happens, you will pay it all. Also you need a "real" motorbike driving permit "A" as they have 110 ccm and up. Car licence "B" does not cover them. Better use public transports, taxi apps Grab or Bolt, or rent a fully insuranced car from an international company. Enjoy your stay!
Make sure ,scooter and motorcycle use is in your written in your travel insurance. If you don’t have motor license in Canada 🇨🇦 your insurance can be void if you get into an accident.
Ana and Trevor, Great video!!! You mentioned the food or life you also experienced in the Dominican Republic. Can you please compare living in both places? Which overall did you enjoy more and why? Recommend one more than the other and why? Perhaps another idea for a future vlog? Thanks, enjoy!!!
Thanks for watching! Great question but these 2 countries are so very different and far apart that I don't think we'll ever compare the 2 in a video. That said, both are great.. but our hearts are in the DR 😀 We'll be back again this year for a long time at some point
The bus is super easy. You can use Grab as well but it's a set price everywhere in Phuket. Meaning it's the same price to go 30 seconds sometimes as it is 10 mins. First time we've come across that one - Trevor
The Asian Water Monitor lizards are all over. Patong is ok but I'm glad I didn't spend much time there. I did 2 nights in Phuket and spent the rest of my time in Railay. I plan on going back in March. My favorite spot was Buds Beach Bar, 100 baht for cocktails. The best deal I saw in Thailand. The sales people weren't too bad compared to what I hear about Colombia or the Dominican Republic
Another great video showcasing Thailand! Night life would be sensory overload for me BUT I still enjoyed watching the hustle and bustle of it all. Happy New Year 🥳!
Watching you in Patong was hilarious. As you are RUclips traveller's always assume you are party animals seeing you walk there you looked almost out of place in a comical way, like ghee what did i walk into kind of way. I imagine that is how I loom when I walk down streets like that.
Not sure if you guys are aware of the shopping mall in Patong…Jung Ceylon (hope I got the spelling right) but since you living in a smaller town…you may want to check it out in case you need to get certain supplies that’s otherwise is unavailable at the places where you are staying.
Those wires are all communications not electricity. The electricity is higher on the poles. We used the smart bus in Phuket 2019. It was great from airport to Patong and we used it to see all the main beaches on the west coast. Easier than the baht bus/songthaew for the beaches.
Nice video 👍❤️ love your Vibe 😍. Been to Phuket on vacation more tha 15 times. Cannot wait ti try out the smartbus. We normally stay in kata noi- Nai Harn- Rawai- chalong area. Really Nice neighborhood.
Nice video. Great info. Please don't get your own scooter, to dangerous. Busy place Patong. I like where your staying not as touristy. Thanks and take care.
Very sensible not to rent bikes. Very tempting, but in my opinion an accident in waiting. It always amazes me that people don’t think about the injuries they will get if they fall off a scooter when just wearing shorts and t shirts. Road surface is not kind to skin, even at fairly slow speeds. There’s a reason most serious bikers wear leather gear.
Coconut icecream is put the coconut milk substitute to the cow milk. It is not the coconut meat. Cost of living in Phuket is a lot higher than Bangkok. That coconut icecream might cost 1/2 in Chatuchak market in Bangkok.
Well I do not know where you two come from but I can tell you compared to Australia generally Phuket and all of Thailand is like living in a public rubbish dump, the streets are dirty, all the local housing looks like they’re ready to fall apart, eating street food is a guarantee for a trip to the bathroom to vomit the slop.
Oh dear. The bus does not work well. The tram project around the island has been actually discussed for 20-30 years. Hopefully, it will be implemented soon.
I travel woth my gf to Thailand and choose go to Patong Beach Phuket or Pattaya?1, dont do it, there are sooooooo many nice places! Hua Hin, Rayong, Ko Chang, Kho Samed, Kho Chang, Chiang May, Rai etc. there are so so many nice places. WHY CHOOSE REDLIGHT DESTRIKTS, for a trip with a GF?

Lived in Phuket for years a decade ago before too much development and the Russians ruined Pattaya. Still some nice areas though, my favourite Cape Panwa where sailing superb. 👍

the scooter will give you the best experience in my opinion, complete freedom vibes, but I get it why you are reluctant, it's daunting at times.

Great video! I love seeing diff transportation options bc i plan to travel with 3 kids so a scooter is not ideal for us 👌

You should have seen my face, and we were only there daytime. Same reaction, almost, I had to Las Vegas, lol.
@DelightfulTravellers maybe not party people but more into crowds. Just assume all outgoing people are.
Reminds me of Tropik Bowl in LT! One of my favorite places to eat. And boy does that coconut ice cream look phenomenal.
