Okay but the salt holder next to a tub with epsom salt and a little wood scoop would be sooooo cute 😭
Great idea! Then it wouldn't matter that it is missing the lid.
Sadly in the master bath with blue tiles, she has no bathtub. I can’t remember the upstairs bath but feel like it was more neutral.
Unfortunately it wouldn't be airtight and the epsom salts would absorb moisture and get clumpy and yucky.
@@TamarLitvot In my experience, lumpy Epsom salt is not a problem.
Omg yes! I had the same thought! 😍
When that women said the salt container was $15 you should have said great $7.50 since it’s 50% off today.🧡
Half price and $5 fee for removal from the wall.
@@sandrakicklighter2735😂😂😂😂
Right.the total should have been half of $50.00
HAHAHA Girl math ♡
@@marivelflores2135😂 that would've been way more than what the lady said. She'd pay $25 instead of $15. Typo?
My mother, an elegant lady, who passed away 2 years ago at 99, always had beautifully decorated homes and she always decorated eclectic French Provençal and earth tones. She ignored trends and went with what she loved and her homes always looked on trend. She had a pair of chairs, almost exactly like your living room ones that she bought in the early 60’s. She had them for decades and they always looked great and never went out of style. My daughter and I have some of her French Provençal pieces in our homes. Her lovely name was Sarafina! 💕
Thank you for sharing about your mother. That was so nice. God bless, Susan
@@reflections516 Thank you for your thoughtful comment. My mom would have loved McCenna’s spunk and decorating style. 😌
You are so polite xx
She sounds lovely. I’m sure you miss her so much.
@@rneustel388 Yes, she is missed. She was one of a kind!
Girl you did right by telling her I took the dang thing off the wall! Way to stay firm but kind. . Unkind people need the most kindness . Love your sweet feisty spirit.
I feel like bath salt / bath bombs would be a great use for the salt holder & to put it in your bathroom!
A podcast episode on your estate sale experiences would be so interesting!!!
I agree the estate sale was odd. Thinking outside of the box, the salt cellar would look great in your bathroom. It would tie into the blue tiles. You could put dried flowers or functional items in it. I thought the marble lamp was a vase at 1st. Love your finds and your "fly" outfit!
She could keep bath salt or Epsom salt in it!
I agree, that salt cellar would be great in the bathroom!
Same thoughts! 😁
I was thinking the exact same thing. The bathroom with even little soaps in it! Or q tips, cotton rounds etc
@@HairByGina23 The possibilities are endless!
Maybe I'm just old, but I'm fine with Old Navy, Target, or Walmart for basics. I'm too cheap pay Skims prices for sweats lol.
Agree!!!
That art with the girl looked like it could have been you. It was beautiful.
I was thinking the same thing! I was really hoping she would get it.
I agree! It reminded me of her at Fox Run for some reason!🤷🏻♀️I hope she keeps it the way it is.
My thoughts exactly. And she should keep it as is and use it somewhere in her home.
The girl reminded me of MaCenna's new picture icon, her back to us with the bow in her hair from France.
Meeee toooooo!!
I do the same thing about rude people. Always remember that even if they aren't having a bad day, and they are just rude on purpose, you shouldn't take it personally because they don't even know you. You just happen to be the one in front of them. I always think to myself.. wow, it must really sad to be them, so miserable. I just can't live that way. I love my contented, peaceful life. God has been so good to me!
Ohh Ohh I have an idea for the salt blue thingy! How about in the bathroom, for bath salts! It would tie in the tiles!
your mom would have gone ballistic with that lady
Thank you for talking about the bad side of estate sales. I manage an antique shop and we are gearing up to start doing estate sales. It’s super helpful to hear the do’s and don’t’s of running an estate sale. That lady’s attitude was unacceptable.
The girl in the painting that you got at the estate sale reminds me of you, MaCenna - especially your thumbnail pic!! Love everything you got there! I live for your videos by the way LOL!
Love how you let that experience roll off your shoulders and how you always try to give people the benefit of the doubt. So much healthier than holding a grudge. You’re such a sweetheart! Glad you had fun at the movie. Great vlog as always! 🥰❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
aww thank you so much that means so much to me!
I was going to say the same thing. So kind. I love the shell suit, MaCenna, it looked great. I was wondering if many people made the effort like you? 🐶🌷
We love this feisty side of Macenna! 😅 More story times please! 🙏
Lol macenna was so upset 😂 I love it! We never get to see the feisty side, she's so funny omg 😅😂❤❤❤
hahahah i was feeling a little feisty!
If they don't want to price everything before hand, keep the little price circles in hand and when someone asks, quote, and then write it down on the sticker and stick it to the item. If they are worried about sticker switching, then put like Blu Salt or whatever the item is in short hand.
I think that painting would be great for a spooky DIY. I've seen someone put a purple-ish gouache wash on a painting to darken it up and make it look like night time. Then turn the lady into a ghost, perfect Halloween decor!
My Grandma has three of the white trays. She has one in her bedroom with her perfume on it, another in her bathroom with her face cream, lipstick, sunscreen, etc. the smallest one She uses for hand soap. I remember loving them as a little girl, and she still has them. 😊
I just got a salt cellar this weekend too! They would originally have a wooden lid (maybe you could make one!) and they are always so pricey so you still got a deal!
Put the salt (Epson salt holder into the Bathroom as it's a Great Opportunity to Hold your Bath Salts and make those tiles work Together visually >>> but at the Dollar store they have Lavender Epson salts by the bag which is Wonderful to store in there by the tub❤)
Great deals anyway! Sorry you encountered a rude salesperson.
Your Salt Box is missing the wooden lid. It attaches at corners with wire for hinges.
You can measure the opening and cut a piece of scrap wood and lightly stain it.
The lamp you can easily fix!
Love your adventures thrifting!!!
Happy Halloween from Texas!!!
I believe you’re right. I just bought an Italian one at a vintage store & it his a wooden lid. I love it.
omg a wooden liddddddddd i wish i had that part too!
Also: yes yes yes to ghost painting! My friends & I had a super fun, chill ghost painting night with thrifted prints (I'm a vintage seller, so I had tons). Soooo much fun, and easy even though I'm not very artistic - I bet yours would be gorgeous!!
Wow, some people can be so rude. Long gone are the days when the customer is always right. I loved that painting its beautiful the way it is. Thanks for sharing.
That marble lamp is just gorgeous! Put a colour changing bulb in it! Then, it could help set the mood in the room 😊
The blue looks so good with your dark rich colors in the kitchen, love that salt piece!
😂Romeo's out of town and MaCenna just watched a scary movie....and went home to an empty house. Poor Kinsley had all the guard duties for a whole weekend. Every bump, every creak, every knock on the door...LOL It's Halloween time y'all 😂
The salt container would be beautiful on the wall with a viney plant growing out of it! Love it
I was thinking the same thing.. that would be perfect 💚🌿
True, it would be a beautiful planter. :)
AB Fab sweetie darling! lol We just finished an estate sale for a lady that is 104. The owner of the sale company started in Mar and brought me in on Apr 2nd. It was a huge undertaking with 3 floors and a double garage filled with amazing items. We clean and sort items, stage them and price each item. the sale was three weeks ago and we fit in two garage sales in Aug. Still lots of incredible things left that will be going into an online auction. There is no excuse for rudeness to customers. Believe me sometimes it's hard to bite your tongue but you just do it! You are there to help sell these items and should be respectful of the customer and the owner(s) of the estate.
I can see that beautiful salt box with your rolling pins and trays on the wall in the kitchen. Maybe a pillar candle or something similar in it. Plus your idea of making the lamp into a vase is great, silks or dried flowers or an umbrella stand would be awesome as well. Forsythia in the spring is always so cheerful.
Thanks again for all you hard work!
MaCenna watching Gilmore Girls! My fandoms are colliding! ☕️
One of those ceramic frames would look great on the sink in your guest bath with a decorative soap bar and lotion for guests. Love the vintage salt holder. Also, Kinsley….I saw you under that table! 😮
omg LOVE that idea
Lol!!! I saw her too! Poopie!
I so related to your reaction to the estate sale experience & your encounter with the Customer Service representative (??!!ha-ha). Some people really need to reevaluate their career or employment choices. It sounded to me like you handled it like a real trooper, kudos to you. Companies that run estate sales are representing families and their belongings and owe it to the family (the seller) and the customer (the buyer) to present themselves in a professional manner and honor the prices originally quoted if they are going to randomly quote monetary values to items. Always enjoy watching your channels because you present yourself in a thoughtful, organized, professional manner and always convey a great sense of humor regarding your adventures or misadventures. Thanks Macenna
The salt container is a very scandinavian/german thing. IT should have a wood lid. We put it on the wall near the cooker. Love from Yurika - Denmark
MaCenna I think you definitely need a dedicated area for your workshop! You do so many projects and it would just make sense to find some space where you can have work tables set up more permanently! Idk what kind of space you have inside or outside for something like that but I really think it would be great for you!!
Hey MaCenna, that estate sale looked pretty amazing! I’m sorry that they were grumpy. that really does affect the experience. I love that salt dish that you found it would look cool if you’re not using it for salt anyway hanging in your bathroom and put a plant in it that trails out and you wouldn’t see the word salt but you would see the blue like your tiles. Your outfit was pretty rad I graduated in the 80s so you were definitely dressed on point.
The marble lamp needs to be an umbrella holder. Love the salt holder. So cool and diffrent.
I 100% agree with you.. if people don't like working with the public, regardless of where it may be, then they really need to find a job that they don't work work the public.. simple as that! Yes she may have been having A bad day but that's not anyone's fault so she really should have been nicer and maybe her day wolf have gotten better😉😊 You did get some cute pieces tho!
Hi Macenna, you know if not putting it in your kitchen you could put your salt holder in a bathroom with a bathtub for the bathsalt if you are into popping some blue that reminds you of Paris....xoxoxo
Those ceramic white "frame" trays would also make a really cute palette for painting!
I love how your pumpkins turn out !! So cute 🥰
Thanks for continuing to be so positive and not let the little things ruin your day. Glad you had fun 😊 instead.
MaCenna - you are always so positive - it is hard to come up against grumpy people. It is okay to process it with us.
5:30am here in South Australia 🇦🇺 Morning coffee with Macenna best start to my day 😊 xx
Even though the estate sale was different, I’m glad you purchased your treasures. Loved them. There were a lot of treasures in that sale.
I really loved that “spooky” art you got, it’s a bummer they were so rude. Also, your 80s track suit was so cute! 😊
I am curious to know, when you are finishing the house in Texas. I do miss this whole "create a new old house by myself" vibe. That courage to do big craftsmen work inspired me a lot. And I want to see that finished 😅
Great as a pillar candle holder too! Love your stuff!
MaCenna, your 80s track outfit was totally rad! And I absolutely loved the movie 'Totally Killer' too. It brought back all those awesome 80s vibes. 🕺🎬👏
That marble lamp looks like a candle on a pedestal. It will look so pretty lit up! Love the 80s outfit!❤
100X YES to the ghost art trend!!!
Thank you for sharing your project-aftermath-mess. It's so relatable ❤😂
My husband and i did the thrift store painting spooky makeover. We really loved doing it, so much fun actually and we had a lot of laughs. Also, they turned out so sweet. Neither of us have ever painted still this was new to us both. He said he'd like to do this every year now, if that says anything. 😂❤️
Looks like a fun day, MaCenna! Hope you had fun at the movie with your friend.
You're so smart! Most of us would have turned on our heel and walked away at that estate sale. Especially when the price went from $2 to $15 and then they acted like you were robbng them to lower it to $10!! But you were wise and knew leaving would only be hurting yourself - they wouldn't care at all. So you got the things you wanted at what you considered a fair price. There's an old expression you may know - Don't cut your nose off to spite your face. Whether you've heard it or not, you certainly are clever enough to understand the principle and practice it! Well done.
Love the sweet salt cellar ( though they really did gouge you - it's missing its wooden lid that would have been attached at the back and lifted at the front). I'm actually a fan of the blue and white, though. It would be pretty with a small plant in it and ivy spilling down and out. Or, if you plan to fit it in your kitchen somewhere, an aloe plant for cuts and burnt fingers. It could also be a hanging holder for a small pad of paper and some pens, maybe even a small pair of scissors.
The marble lamp is pretty and if you choose to use it as a vase for now, I wouldn't fill in the hole for the wiring. I'd remove and keep the lamp parts and either only use dried or artificial plants/flowers or find something like a glass vase or plastic sleeve that fits well in there. You never know when you might want it to be a lamp again. It would be really captivating as a lamp with a soft glow.
Love the frame and agree you should use it with added ghosts to decorate your living room for the season. The girl actually looks a bit like you with her long, dark hair. Wish you had also grabbed the bigger frame in the back at 10:26. Or both! The one in the back is gorgeous and more your style (though older than what you usually gravitate toward), but the little one would be cute in a child's room. It's definitely more cottagey and actually fits the timeframe of the cottage in Texas.
Thanks for taking us along for the day. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
🤎💛🍂🎃🍁🎃🍂💛🤎
I was going to suggest you hang the salt dish in your newly decorated bathroom with bath salts in it but I guess that doesn't make sense because there's no bath. Personally I would still hang it in there with flowers or a plant in it.
I thought that painting looked like you from behind, with the long hair and the bow. I wouldn’t paint over that particular painting just for that reason alone. It also kind of reminded me a little bit of your fall animations at the beginning of your videos.
Yes! Definitely want to see the painting with the girl transformed into a ghost. I like the trend but I’d LOVE to see you put your spin on it. ❤❤
You should hang that salt thing outside and put a plant that hangs over it and is very droopy. Like an ivy or a pathos. It would look so cute! And it would be a neat way to bring some green up onto your house in the back yard!
Cozy fall vlog time is the best time of day!
Hi MaCenna! The wooden carved piece would look nice above the archway or glued on the middle of fireplace mantle w a golden paint touch up on the details. This will give it a more detailed classy look. I have one above my door and it looks great. I would use the marble piece as a base w beautiful flowers from your Secret Garden!
@4:36 Miss Kinsley going pottie under the work table? Can't even be mad when they're that precious tho!!! ❤😂
GILMORE GIRLS IS MY JAM!! If I could dream up any place to live, it would be in Stars Hollow!!🖤
--And with the Estate Sale woman, I love how you just chalked it up to a bad day and didn't let it ruin the rest of yours!!
How cute is that 80's outfit?!🕺😅Adorable.💗
❤ Kingsley, any plans of a costume for her? So cute.
You got some great finds! Love the marble lamp especially!
My mom has the same salt container!! She got it from portugal (we’re from Brazil) in the 80’s and it’s still in use here!
MaCenna!!! I just had a great idea for that decorative moulding you found at the estate sale!!! You could cast it to make a mold of it , like a silicone mold or something and then you could create copies of that piece (maybe out of plaster?) and then paint them to match the wall color and use the copies on the archways!
Since you only have 1, if you like it enough for that placement, you could just replicate it that way to get enough for each archway!
You may also be able to use the same sort of idea by buying molds used for other crafts in the sort of ornate shapes you like (I assume you can find molds of some kind online. Even fancy cake tins or whatever) and find other shapes you like to add to the arch or use instead if you’re finding it hard to source the decorative trim itself. Just a thought I had I thought might be useful to you!
Love your haul, MaCenna. Sorry to hear about your negative experience. I love your attitude & how you aways see the bright side. You are such a good person. Hope you enjoyed your movie outing. You looked great in your eighties outfit.❤
I would of loved to see your mom at that estate sale!! She would give it to that lady in a nice southern way. But the lady would of got the point!! I was happy that you were able to find some things❤
Definitely do the ghostie picture...it would be fab!! I'm looking for one for ages...that one is perfectly spooky 😉
It’s so true that other people’s bad moods can really affect yours. Kudos to you for keeping high spirits even after that negative experience! ❤
So cute! The salt piece could go in the bathroom for BATH SALT or shower steamers 🤗 It would be cute in there and smell nice too
I love that salt container!! And those trays 😍😍 Good finds!
I love your decorations. Just beautiful 💕💕
how you know you are getting old - the old Sabrina is the only Sabrina that you know exists, lol.
Right?! 😂😂😂 my 1st thought was there's only 1 sabrina.
That track suit cracked me up!!!!
Oh how fun the movie looked. You looked adorable. 😱
I needed some MaCenna today. Yay!!
Love the salt holder. It would be great for cut flowers 🎉 thanks for the video ❤
Did I see some Fontanini nativity pieces at the estate sale? They are such an incredible collection to have especially for anyone interested in Italian culture. Chateau Diaries made an incredible vlog at the Fontanini factory for one of her Christmas advent episodes and I've become obsessed
I started estate sale shopping because of you and what a GAME CHANGER! Thank you!
The decorative piece on the fireplace 😊
my favorite youtuber to watch mentioning my favorite show? obsessed !!!! Gilmore Girls is always a must 🍂🍁
I love the salt cellar, it's beautiful :)
Looks like a fun night at the cemetary 😮 I would use that ceramic salt container in the bathroom to hold the curling iron or hair accessories or even rolled washcloths.
Lots of fun adventures! ✨
Love the ceramic frames/trays
For the solid marble lamp, I would take the electrical outlet out, put it by the door and use it as an umbrella stand
Your home looks beautiful and cozy.
The outfit that you wear and your hair style, (flea market segment) - Awesome!
Idk why but I’m dyinggg at kinsley peeing on the brick under the table outside 😂😂😂
That wasn’t a pee 😮
Yes would loveee to see ghost art on that painting for Halloween!!!
I’m so glad you got that painting. I thought it was beautiful! ♥️
I love the things that you picked up, really pretty things. The salt holder looks very French.
Love the Halloween stuff and your right those blowup things always end up with no air on the ground in the morning.
The lamp will look fabulous lit up.😀
I love your 80's outfit. 😍
That painting on the wall of the woman next to the river, looked just like you!
I immediately thought of the ghost trend when I saw that painting and thought it would be PERFECT for it! Please do it!
Hey MaCenna, you could put it in your blue & white tiled bathroom and use it for your bath salt.
I would have totally bought that marble lamp too!! ❤
Absolutely love salt wall holder thingy 🤣, I’ve been looking for one for my bath salts!!! So Jelly!!!!!
So glad you got the art piece. The girl looked like the thumbnail of your vlog channel.
