Thanks a lot for this tutorial. I just got my HPD20 and I was a bit scared of the technical part. But with this video I understand and it motivates me to learn. Subscribed. 👋
I don't have a Mac, so I'm not sure about Mac to Usb. However, I know you can format the usb drive in the HPD-20, via menu settings, and it will mount on the Mac.
There's a pack on Bandlab called Latin House. It actually has some pretty good, and authentic feeling samples. Unfortunately, that's about it... as far as BandLab and Latin Jazz go.
Thank you this is excellent, I been searching a long time for a how to do this clip. I am beyond tech challenged but will try this. I dowloaded the free Albleton live daw. I will try this with that. Im interested in assigning single bass notes to the small pads individually as well. I guess this could work that way too. Last question if i may. Is it possible to loop like the sample for continuous play? Mahalo Aloha from Hawaii
@Mik McG I'd love to be able to trigger mantuno tumbau in various notes to make a song like C F G C . If that makes sense. Sorry I talk to much lol. Just really happy finding finally a good tutor 👍
Thanks for sharing! You know of any way i can properly adjust the individual volume level of the chime sample? I own the 15 and 20 and have never been able to balance the volume level of the chime with the other instruments in a kit. I normally balance the volume levels of all the instruments in a kit, with enough headroom to be able to turn up the volume, depending on situation, or system i play through. No matter how i adjust the volume level of the chimes, they either play too low to be heard properly with the rest of the kit, or so high it distorts. Have played with a number of settings in both Handsonics with no luck. Am i missing something? Importing another sample fix this?? Anyone??
I got as far as around 9:20 where you say let move on to next step. How ya get there? I'm using USB connect rather then flash memory stick. Thanks for help. I'm do close lol.
I'm not really sure, as far as using computer directly to HPD20. With the flash stick, there's no opportunity for the HPD20 to be confused on communication. I imagine the hpd20 is trying to read your hard drive and needs directed. If I get a minute, I'll try your way. But if you have a flash stick, follow my vid here, it will work.
@Mik McG Thank you very much. I'll try find a flash stick tomorrow. You're instructions are 💯 great even a tech challenged guy like me can easily follow. You have a fan Aloha
I don’t own an HPD-20 (soon hopefully), but I read that one sample can be up to 6 minutes in length. So 6 minutes or 360 seconds long. Total sample time is 12 minutes between all samples.
thanks for sharing your knowledge, just got my new HPD-20.LOOK FORWARD TO FUTURE VIDEOS.

Thanks! This is great! I'm able to get any sample, sound; How can I get latin rhythms or latin jazz for HPD-20?

Unfortunately it only plays loop in one shot.
Yes, Bandlab had single bass notes/samples. You could use those, for sure.
@Mik McG Thanks so much, I'm excited where I can take my handsonic now. Creativity will flow.
@Mik McG Maybe there's a way to loop once downloaded thru HPD record option somehow. I'll let ya know if I find away.

Do the parameters of each pad (or trigger) affect. ."inserted non -factory samples" the same as factory samples???

I'm just curious because, i own a HPD - 20. Do you know what the Max Sample Time in Seconds it is for a Sample Length inside the HPD-20?

How can loop speed first and slow?
What is the converter name sir and how to down load it
Audacity. It's in the video.
