- Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Christian Craig reflects on the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross season in this exclusive interview with Vital MX's Lewis Phillips. Here, he discusses the progress made over the season and his plans for the future. There is also some candid chat about his injury and the chances of him ever getting back to 100%.
That is awesome.
Seeing how so many riders have been ditched over the years because of injuries, this is good to hear.
He certainly has the commitment to recover and get better. Although changing teams, good that Husky stayed with him.
I am trying to get my leg muscles back after a knee reconstruction and year of injury, But I am 20 years older than CC. But we can rebuilt it! Modern medicine and rehabilitation methods are awesome.
Christian is a good dude. He’s been through hell the last couple years with that damn elbow. I’m glad he still has that fight in him and seems to still want this. Just like Ken I hope he sticks around the sport when he eventually retires.
Dudes whole career has been hell. He has gotten mangled and broke his back arms legs etc then getting suspended for some stupid ped
@@denniswilder3014not that championship year though
@@doglover136_ that summer he got hurt
@@denniswilder3014 apologies, my memory isn’t the best, thanks to adhd
@@doglover136_ lol all good.
Congrats to the Craig Family!!!! Looking forward to it all coming together next season!
Best of luck 🤙
So they are getting rid of Justin Cooper for Christian Craig? If so that’s kind of crazy. J-Coop is building momentum and deserves that ride.
There is a family connection I think? Cooper is better and maybe he needed more $$ and CC was willing to ride for less. just an idea.
Haha no. Coop is staying there Craig is gonna be on a 450 under the 250 truck. The engine is going to be built by Star. The other 450 engines are built still at factory Yamaha. So Craig wont be getting the same stuff as ET3, CW2, and JC32
Nah they’re going to have 3 450s. Star is two seperate teams that are somewhat together. 450 is factory Yamaha! 250 is like a franchise factory Yamaha team. I believe Craig will be with that kind of a special 450 rider for that. It’s a confusing team set up😂
Supposedly the deegans were in on the deal
@@gavinjohnsonpnw5626he'd be racing a 450 built by star not Yamaha factory
He must have has good business n realinships over at star for them to give him a 2 year deal that’s very rare n amazing at the same time
his half brother, i think that’s the correct wording, is jeremy coker, the 450 team manager, and him and his family have a good relationship with haiden, haiden stayed at their house for a year i think
So he is going to star for sure ?
@@TheCaliGod209 yes
@@doglover136_ dope glad to see him back the 250 champ for star🦾🦾🦾
No he just basically offered to ride for free
Glad to hear about the deal! What a great guy, wonderful family. Best of luck to you.
With everything happening to KTM financially with rider cuts and brand cuts. They wouldn’t be able to keep him in the future if they resigned him. Happy that he’s going to a place where he was loved before.
Can't wait to see you back at star. Haiden is excited to have you back. Hope your muscle heals and you get back to top form . Haiden needs your guidance and experience.
Hard to grow it back when ya loose it takes alot of time time
I broke my left shoulder in 2019 my left side is still smaller noticeable when I have a shirt off
Happy for Christian Craig! Star is a bad ass sponsor to ride for,. Good for him!
I’m happy for Christian and his family, he’s a good guy and a great rider. Lots of luck bro in the coming season 😎
Excellent Christian
I really like Craig but I’m very surprised he got a two yr deal. Happy for him, let’s see if he can heal up and get podiums. I’m a bit skeptical.
The moment he went to husky, I knew he would struggle. Compounded with his injuries it usually a struggle for guys going from aluminum to steel frame
His time is up. He was a much better 250 guy. Now he's lucky to crack the top 10.
❤

His dad is a great mx coach MIKE CRAIG
KTM group is in a bind
A bind?😂 they lost 2 billion dollars.......
Sorry, I don't see humor in motorcycle companies losing their ass or bankrupt. But that's just me
No idea why, he is good but come on
Him having a two year deal after doing literally nothing for two years is a huge slap in the face to every other rider that was on the line. Comical
You clearly haven't seen the deal. It's a support contract riding a Star 450 out of the 250 truck. He going to help develop 250 talent. His bike won't be factory works equipment.
Who would you choose over him. He hasn’t been good but who else would you choose
@@thomasvinsen1410i’d say top 10s with the current state of his elbow is pretty dang good
@@doglover136_ exactly
Proves that network is everything.. going to star after doing nothing at husq
Dude won a Championship at Star so not surprised.. and he will be helping with the 250 riders is the rumor. He’s great with technique himself and also known for setting up bikes well so he can transition into coaching and testing when he is done racing full-time. I’m sure he has a couple good years left.
His half brother is Jeremy Coker so sure that played a role
@@townsendYXZ you have a strong point. didnt know that
If I had the speculate, they probably think having him around for 2 years will benefit Deegan.
@@MrEngie85yep, i’ve heard he will be a riding coach for 250 guys and a life coach/mentor for haiden
Dude hasn't rode a full season since he's been on his "new" team and he gets a ride with star? Craig over J Coop is absolutely insanity.
Who's this Grandpa!?🤣
A deal doing what?! Running the caboose?
I feel bad for whatever manufacturer thst signed him
Taylor Edward Lewis John Taylor Nancy
I expect you to ride like you’re broke and not just cruise around for the next two years
With all the talent out there this makes no sense
He can crush whoops...thats it. Only reason he won an sx championship
Now there are no whoops so top 10 will be luck
When CC was at Star on a 450 for moto in 2022 and was healthy, he was very good outdoors, and finished 5th in points, and it seemed that Craig, Dungey, and Roczen always seemed to find each other almost every moto that summer and they would have their own personal fight to the finish. I think if he can get his arm back, he can battle for top 5's much of the time. He's there to guide Haiden more than get results in my opinion. Brian is worried now that Haiden won a big title that all the distractions will multiply, like hangers on, girls and other commitments. Brian wants to surround Haiden with as many strong and positive people as possible like CC and Duffe.
He needs to retire .
WRONG
You didn’t see him ripping? Lol
You need to stop watching the sport. Dudes arm is mangled and getting top 10s, nearly top 5. It's inspiring for him to gut out rides like that.
Nah, he is about to break out and dominate the SX, MX and SMX for the next 2-5 years atleast.
Why? He is top ten at most races now with the only rider missing is jett.
Everybody knows KTM's in huge financial trouble gas gas and Husqvarna are going away but nobody in the industry will talk about it
Were getting triumph and Ducati
Husky isn’t leaving the US, gas gas is, then troy will have ducati when they come, barcia and ryder d will be on gas gas but under husky sponsors or may even be on husky
When you people going to figure out that riders can pay to ride for star
He’ll barely be a top 10 rider if he’s lucky
Top 10 is still good
If he's helping the younger riders and management is happy with that what's the problem?
