love this.. only thing I don't understand why they didn't add is the drawbars for the organs like they have in the Reface YC...cmon Yamaha...this is seriously making me consider a competitor, it is a must have for a stage piano now a days
Some people have some nerve to say something is cheap . What have u made sense ,your such an expert on making Digital piano and I'm talking about the guy who made the comment that it looks cheap some nerve The only people who say things like that I just pure hater
@@ItsThatJahncke2 And the CP88 doesn't appear to have escapement either. I don't understand their thought process on this unit. If they want it to be pure stage, then fine, but don't say it is for the pianist when it is missing things that have been around for years and actually appear on their lower units.
DigitalSpace it is certainly strange, I think that they might be positioning this to be slightly geared towards professional EDM producers/DJ’s as well as Synthesists. This is almost purely speculation on my part but it just seems to have that style and all the extras and the sound design functions seem geared towards those groups. Personally I’m a synth nerd and this thing is right up my alley. I don’t need all the high end digital piano functions but I do really need a solid piano/electric piano that has some extra professional functions that’s just a solid all around package that looks good and sounds great and feels great to play and this checks all the boxes
Sounds amazing, but..... Those on/off switches for each section looks like an afterthought solved with a drill and an 50p switch from the local bestbuy. Same with the pitchbend and modulation "contacts". Hope it's only the prtotypes that looks like that.
@@gcaligula6653 I will not buy it, but why do you care? I just wrote my thaughts about how i think it looks. Maybe they try to make it look "oldschool", i don't know. I have a great digital piano allready.
The wait is over! Simply superb...
Wish you could demo some basic functions like a piano, pad, strings layer sound.

Cuz they need to make money off re package it ,so they come out with another one like the yc 88 more money for Yamaha lol
What kind of speakers are you using? What would you recommend?
How do these sounds compare or differ to Montage?
@Maafa 1619 what do you think.. interms of pinao sound quality, cp or montage
Great video Mr. Blake! what is the difference of the CP88's and CP73's touch to Montage8? because, i want to have a comparison. =)
CP88 has progressive hammer, CP73 has non-progressive weighted.
@@musikone1780 thanks for replying. :) last question, which has a faster action between CP88 and montage 8?
It’s out now ?

Well it doesn't have string resonance.. which is cheap of Yamaha to do since they said this thing is geared towards the pianist

@@Ultimate_Wasabi It's definitely a shame. Especially since Yamaha is the biggest piano maker in Japan.

P.S. I swear I’m not a Yamaha shill, I literally just ordered one of these and I’m excited about it getting here 😂 😂😂
This or the Yamaha p515?
I wish this was available with waterfall keys.

Yamaha CP88 (57 sounds): $2499
Roland RD2000 (1100+ sounds): $2599
I guess the guy didn’t hear they was add new sound to it every six months or a new update
And you were right if you think it's so cheap then don't buy it then
