I enjoy your demolition videos. You do them with just the machine sounds and no annoying zooms. Keep up the good work! In this video, it appears that extra care is being taken in removing this structure, as an active road with traffic and power cables are adjacent.
They stopped work every few minutes to let traffic go by, then held up traffic while they worked on the upper parts of the building. Lots of cement blocks landed on the closed-off sidewalk, but not much made it past the curb. When the final section fell, it did bend a couple of sections of the construction fencing.
Id rather have the kid learn a trade like this than be out on the Baltimore streets all of us in construction and other trades were greenhorns or newbies when we started out
Thanks for the video. While I can't shed a tear for this building, it could have just as easily been an early 19th century or 18th century building. After WWII American buildings have become poorly built and mostly of stick frame construction. Our civic leader are totally ignorant of anything to do with architecture or history. They like developers think new is always better. Do a google search of any where USA, and what you almost always see are the nice buildings. Look at Rockville MD, on Google, and you don't see that hideous Rockville Pike which is what most people see when driving through that area. And this in one of the wealthiest areas of the country. Its just all gold rush town construction. H.L. Mencken said "Americans have a libido for the ugly".
Is this the first time this operator was in the seat?
THats what i was thinking lol and im a noob
Six months later
Is there a child in the operators seat??? A really small child ????
Must be union workers. That building should have been down in 15 minutes. Especially with two pieces of equipment.
You're tearing it down like you're trying to find a needle in a haystack! Just demolish the building already, we don't have all day!
My wife is 65 years old, has never been close to a big excavator, but I'll bet a week's pay that she would have that building down in half the time.
Building still standing
The swing function is not meant for pushing over walls. Bad training for apprentice operator.
Even played at double speed things are going slow. The only Hazzard I see is those power cables. It should have been down much faster.
Jesus christ, this guy moves like he's deathly afraid he'll damage the building.
Could be cause of the powerlines

@@JohnZWetmore hi john
The carfull pick apart is tedious and slow it must be getting near break time 34:19 change of gear almost engaged.
What's the reason why that operator is moving so slowly.
He's moving like he's afraid he's going to break the building.
Painful to watch. Must be by the hour
You mean like real people get oaid?
John Wetmore The Demolition Videos Is Great To Watch ..
Isn't that TV supposed to be removed prior to demolition?_
THEY REALLY ARE MILKING THAT JOB.
A casino? In Baltimore? WOW! A lot has changed since I left!!! LOL
Yay I love these vids
Epic vid thanks for it.
Why am I enjoying this so much? I know the operator must be separating material as he goes nice job keeping the zone safe.
Id rather have the kid learn a trade like this than be out on the Baltimore streets all of us in construction and other trades were greenhorns or newbies when we started out
Wood is a lot easier to deal with than plaster or rock, however that blown in insulation can't be too fun blowing all over the place.
I think that anyone of us watching the video can do a faster job
When was this filmed exactly?
September 23, 2020.
was there cement blocks in 1920
Cement blocks date from the early 1900s, although hollow tile block would still have been commonly used in the 1920s.
guau ese tio es todo un caso casi provoca un desastre no tiene ni idea de como se hace una demolicion creo que ese fue su ultimo trabajo
Love your videos the best demo videos on YT
can you plz do some video of them lifting up the foundation plz
I'll keep that in mind. The foundations are seldom dug up the same day they take down the structure, so it might take an extra trip.
Must be the owners son or he wouldn't be in that seat as slow as he's going also must not be a dead line
Good vid John, just think of all the people that have walked up and down them stairs since 1920s (at the end of the video).
Thanks for the video.
