- This movie gives an overview of the 30 miles of paved trail between Snohomish and Nakashima Farm north of Arlington that makes up the Centennial Trail. I wanted to show a few features along the trail, so I filmed this over 3 rides. This movie shows the trail south to north.
The Snohomish to Lake Stevens section was filmed in August, and the rest was filmed in May.
This trail was a rails-to-trails effort, and follows the Burlington-Northern railroad track. According to the Snohomish County website, the trail was started in 1989, which was the state's centennial, which gave the trail its name. This trail is great for a variety of activities - biking, walking, jogging, horse riding, and some spots seems like they'd be good for birding. I've seen bald eagles, deer, rabbits and a variety of birds along the trail.
Nutty's Junkyard Grill didn't endorse me - I just really love their burgers and fries and they happen to be right along the trail. Better to hit them at the end of the ride though, as those carbs will make you feel more like napping than pedaling! : )
Thanks for posting this. We’ll be riding here Saturday fo the first time…getting out of Seattle to attempt our longest ride.
I'm glad you liked it! I hope your ride goes really well - should be a great day for it!
I did this exact ride in September 2022, amazing route and Nutty's Junkyard grill was an awesome pitstop! I grabbed a burger and a shake, definitely worth a visit!
It's truly a great ride - even if you only have time for part of it, it's such a great option. So nice to have that dedicated trail and great scenery!
Thank you for sharing I went today but just for a light walk I was wondering how many hours I will make if I start from the point you show at the second enter on my bicycle all the way to Arlington.
Hi! Thank you for watching! I think you're asking about the length from the Lake Stevens trailhead to Arlington? If so, that is about 15 miles one way. Everyone goes at a different speed, and I tend to go about 10 mph average because I am just not in a hurry. It would take me about 1 1/2 hours to get up into Arlington. Arlington is pretty big so I'm not sure if you were looking at any particular spot in Arlington. So it might be a little more or less depending on where you stop. That would just be one way. There are some good trail maps with mileages that might help. This one also lists all the different trailheads so you can decide where to start and finish: snohomishcountywa.gov/facilities/facility/details/centennialtrail-33
I hope you have a great bicycle ride! ☺
@@HikerT Thanks I appreciate. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
8:10 - That trail section the heads west just goes a couple hundred yards down to the Armar trail head on 67th Ave NE (Armar Road). The parking lot is just beyond the bend. There are picnic tables and a porta-potty.
Thanks, CowboyDave! That is good to know! 🙂
