Consider putting in a retractable electric cord in the rafters to drop down when needed, but out of the way.

I was going to suggest a roadie solution (cable protection cover) but you're dead right, that's so much better
An overhead cord can get into the way when cutting into or cutting up materials. Sometimes we woodworkers are working with a piece of 4’ by 8’ piece of plywood. The cord needs to be routed underneath the saw so it is never an obstacle while cutting.
The quick Tacoma breakdown "alt scenario" was hilarious. Nice MacGyver skills.
I love how you're basically taking us on a journey. To be fair you always did it in your videos, but this somehow feels expanded from just figuring out a design, next onto figuring out a house, to now figuring out every component of a new life

Yup. I got a piece of rusty steel in my eye two years ago, very painful. The first question the Opthamologist asked me was: "Angle Grinder?" My left cornea is permanently scarred, very luckily out of the visual axis. I wear so much eye protection now, I look like Neil Armstrong on the moon now whenever I'm doing any metal work

Ok so a few days ago my partner and I were cleaning up our workshop and had several Allen wrenches that came with stuff we bought, and I said to him, I bet Laura would have a project or idea for what to do with these instead of throwing them away. Then this video comes out and I screamed at the TV, like I knew you'd have something creative to use Allen wrenches for
Now that you're in America, when you make a fix like that, you need a shot of you wiggling the battery holder, showing it isn't moving, slapping it, and saying "That ain't going nowhere!"
She did it last week with the AC unit 😀

My house burned down in 2017. Fast forward 2 years later: 2019. New house day BEFORE we move in - ALL my shop tools arrive including that particular model of saw you have. ANOTHER FIRE started and was slowly moving around some 3 miles from my house. What did I do? Assemble my saw...haven't looked back. LOVE IT!!! (and your enthusiasm and channel in general)

Hey Laura, love to see another Taco owner. I have a 2001 base 5 lugs , 2.4L engine 2wd just like yours but in red. I love working on it too. They will run more than 400-500k if you take take care of them. Some recommendations that's easy to work on, check the lower ball joint and the shocks. The first thing I did when o got mine was flush the transmission and engine oil. Get Bilstein shocks for front and back. The oem will be shot by now so it raise another 1 or so on your truck just with that. Love my Tacoma.

Horse stall mats for the floor easier on your legs and tunnel the cables in the mats. It will save cutting into your floor and be way more comfy

When deciding how to organise a workspace seeing the tools and other things in the space makes it easier to find the right spot for them.
Although I have zero woodworking skills-you are a lady after my own heart... no self control and a joy at foiling the retail stores with repair from found items!

The cutting mat fitting perfectly to the width of the table.... and countersinking the screws to hold it down nicely... it's the little things!

Make an extension cord from materials at Home Depot or Lowe's then run your power cord up the right side table extension to the ceiling. I did it! Works great!!

I drive a 98 F150 with 412,000km on her. I have a short somewhere but only when it’s wet out. So rather than drain my battery, I disconnect the cable when I get to work and when I get home in that kind of weather. But she still runs decently enough to get me around.

I would consider something to slow down the folding table when “defolded down”, otherwise it could kick the hinges and pull the screws from the wood over time. Good luck!

Hello Laura good quick little project. As for your car issue go to pick and pull junk yard. It is a junk yard for cars and trucks good places. Some parts are cheap some parts are expensive. Look it up I hope there's one close to you in LA.
