That big toe concept is key in not only speed work but wrestling as well. Lot of power and stability being lost with the inability to extend the toe at its maximum capacity. Makes me want to train barefoot before strength training. Also another good point is that the current wrestling shoes are too narrow around the toe box area, not letting your feet to breathe and function optimally. So it's not just running shoes that smashes the toes together, its wrestling shoes as well
