Heya! Good video mate. Met you at a Canterbury Mountaineering Club event. Currently in Auckland, but good to see you're getting on some ice. Have you done some alpine climbing in the past? Or just jumping into it proper now. Keep em coming.
Ahhh yeah was thinking where I recognised the name! This was last year, but pretty much just beginning to get into it at present. Fingers crossed for a decent season
Hello, I commented on other video before :) I have a question this time. Where have you learned/aquired all outdoor skills? I've been getting into outdoor activities especially hiking lately. But I don't have knowledge of mountaineering and go to mountains with snow and ice. I would love to learn those skills and just thought to ask!
Eri depending on where you are, try and find a climbing/ mountaineering club, failing that you can do guided trips. If you’re in NZ then the Alpine Club do courses and so does Canterbury Mountaineering Club 👍
@@nick_kowalski_film Thanks for the reply Nick! I’m on a work visa and living in Auckland. I know there is Auckland alpine club but when I checked there weren’t many events maybe due to the COVID. Have you learned many from alpine club? Or through friends? I just visited SouthIsland a few weeks ago (including Aoraki etc) for the first time. I found your video and I got very inspired and I’d like to do something like what you are doing because it’s super cool!
Ahhh cool, yeah Covid may be the reason....I know they do a few usually, I did the High Alpine Skills Course with them but they also do ones to lead up to that, the CMC have also started doing the High Alpine one and I previously did an intermediate one with the CMC so would recommend their courses for sure!
Great job, thank you for documenting this, I think turning back was a great decision. Kudos for that!
Great video guys . Kept it cool with a good decision to turn back to huts . Always another day .
