    Hello, great video. We will be on this ship in a few weeks and the ship gets to Santorini at 2pm and leaves at 11pm. Any thoughts? I have Fibromyalgia so standing for too long can get a bit painful.

      Hi there Bellarosa. Our video relied on the fact we arrived early. I'm unsure what sort of wait you'd have around 1-2pm, although at the end of the video before we tendered back there was quite a long queue. If your condition prevents you from standing too long, I would recommend you consider a cruiseline excursion to Oia and back. They tender you to a different slipway and bus you to Oia and back. That would completely negate to need for the cablecar. Hope that helps. Take care. Ray.

    Our tour in Santorini ends at 1pm, we have the option to return to the ship or stay in Fira and go back via the cable car. We aren't too keen to wait in a large queue for this so if we return to the tender station do you happen to know if you need to book the catamaran tours ahead of time.

      Not entirely sure Irene. Suggest you get off the tender as soon as possible to give yourself any chance. Speak to customer services or concierge to get an early tender ticket.

    How long did you have to wait for your tender? I dont have a tour booked

      Hi Jenny. We had a low number tender ticket so we were one of the first off the ship when tendering started. If you talk with customer services they may be able to supply you a low number or if you are a suite guest or high ranking member of the loyalty programme that may also help you get a low number. If not, recommend you queue up as soon as the ship arrives and just find a spot with quick access to the queue before it forms. Ray.

    Hello, once you arrive to Fira port, how do you get to Oia Village? I am cruising on September this year but I am afraid I miss the departure to the next island of my cruise

      Hi again Camilla. Get off as early as you can if you want yo avoid queues. The cruiseline can sell you a trip to Oia and as it is with them, they guarantee they'll wait if youre delayed.
      If you want to diy, you can get a boat trip to Oia from the little port. They take you to another port and then bus you to Oia. On the way back they drop you off in Fira at the top, so you have to either walk down or get the cablecar to get to the tender sration to return to ship. If you diy, you just have to manage your time. Hope that helps.

    Did you buy the cable car ticket at the port?

      Yes you pay as you go through the queue to the cablecar. After you go upstairs.

      Hi Anita. We got off really early and were lucky and the queues for the cablecar were short. Up in Fira, we walked around the top. We came down around lunchtime when the queues from the top are short.the last part of the video shows how manic it can get when you go up to Fira late.

    Is there any other way to get up other than donkey and cable car ?

    • @RaySuesTravelChannel
      @RaySuesTravelChannel  9 месяцев назад

      Hey Caryll. The other way is to purchase a boat trip to Oia where they pick you up by bus when you get to Oia port. You then can walk around and then they drop you back at the top in Fira. You do then have to come back down by either Cablecar or you can walk down using the same steps/route as the donkeys. Others do it, but depends on mobility. Cablecar is a good, quick way down.
