Bitter sweet to watch. Brings back wonderful happy memories of a less unpleasant world. My late father worked at Banner Lane from as far back as I can remember (mid 1960's) all the way up to when he took voluntary redundancy in 1980-81. I recall him saying, "It's the best thing to do Son, it's going downhill now." , he was a Super Intendant when he left.
Many pleasant childhood memories of M.F. Social Club on Saturday nights too which was just a few minutes walk away at the end of Broad Lane. Me and Dad also went there during the week to play snooker in the evenings with uncles and cousins.
The factory took up over half the length of Banner Lane which is quite a long road and so many people worked there! So so sad that it went the same way as all the other vehicle manufacturers in Coventry, which itself was like the Detroit of the U.K.
    Thank you for posting.

Sad to see this happen. I own a 1959 M-F 50 petrol that was made in the USA, But a few components still have UK stamping's on them. IMHO they are still making quality tractors; As I own a 2018 M-F 1526 diesel that is reliable, & easy to service as my 1959 M-F 50. Thank you for the video of Massey-Ferguson's being made in Coventry England.

What a bloody shame! So many good products came out of Coventry, many still at work today being a testament to how good they were!
So sad all the skilled work force lost their jobs, I would say there would be generations of families employed in the factory passing on to the next now all lost. Pity the government hadn’t stepped in and helped!

i came to canada and bought a brandnew massey ferguson 596 made in brazil!.
if this tractor would have been build in coventry i certainly still would own it, but this piece of scrap who came out of the brandnew factory in canoas brazil had all kind of issues!.
i learned my lesson and i will not buy a massey anymore.
