- I broke 85 after 1 year of playing golf and only two weeks after breaking 90 for the first time. In future videos, I will share the exact steps, drills, techniques, and lessons I have learned to improve as fast as I have. I picked up the sport of golf out of college at the age of 22, so if I can do it, so can you guys. If that interests you, consider subscribing to follow along. Other than that, thank you! Swing tempo and technique definitely looks at a much higher level than what your scoring shows, when you get your ball striking even more consistent you will have no problem going low. You have great fundamentals for sure

@@gretz5792 yeah it definitely provides a head start once you figure out the slice lol. I heard hockey players have the easiest time transitioning into golf.
Very true, played hockey 15 years. Came to golf and do extremely well, i hit far and straight. But my swing is different people say. But it works@@austinjamesgolf
Not really. You need a lot of time and money to play and practice. Golf doesn’t require anybody to be physically gifted to be good! Most people arent good cuz they play maybe once a week without no level of meaningful practice. How do you expect to score well playing weekend golf once a week???

Great video. Breaking 80 soon! Small detail and probably an annoying edit but I like when the graphic shows the 1,2,3,4,5 for a par 5. Feels like you’re destined to make bogey when it counts up to 7.

Once I get more comfortable with everything else that goes into making the videos, I will figure out how to do that. i kinda don't believe youve only been playing for a year unless you been playing and practicing ALOT like full time every day. multiple rounds a week.
@@poorrandall8982 I practice pretty much every day and take a lesson every 2 weeks. The only thing I don’t do often is play rounds bc it is expensive. I usually play every other week.
Please post the drill video soon. I have tryouts in two weeks and I need a shoot five over on nine.

Have you tried bending your wrists upwards during your backswing? I think you could generate a lot more ball speed and torque in your downswing
@@gabec5488 no I haven’t worked with my wrists at all yet, but that does sound interesting. Currently I’m trying to get my hands out in front and create more shaft lean to lower my launch angle. Once I do that the ball should go further and generate more ball speed.

I just hit 41 on the front 9 and 91 over all havnt broken 90 but I’ve broken 3 clubs, I’ve been playing a little less than 3 months I have a naturally straight 240 drive and decent luck on the greens but I’ve got to figure out the irons and wedges before I lose my mind
@@nickfish3545 that’s how you know you are close. You are easily capable of breaking 90 if you are able to shoot a 41 through 9. That happened to me so many times before I finally broke 90. I would shoot low 40’s on one 9 and then shoot high 40’s or even low 50’s on the other 9 and blow it every time. Once I broke 90 for the first time, I haven’t shot above 90 since. My first 3 rounds after breaking 90 for the first time were 86, 86, 84.

is that putting legal? I know you are playing recreational/ casual atm but there is a rule against anchoring the putter on your stomach, give it a look up.
@@bencatalan3423 oh I had no idea that was a thing. The good news is that I don’t press it against my stomach or anything. It may just look like that if my shirt is loose/baggy.
