- Everyone had the chance to do an intro comparison but me. So... In honor of Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy releasing later this month, I decided to do an intro comparison of all three games of the original trilogy with the N-Sane Trilogy footage.
Special credit goes to YRocTheEliteSlayer and imnotcopyingfred for the footage.
I've never even PLAYED these games before and I'm feeling nostalgic. I can't even imagine an actual fan's reactions.
I love how Polar now goes to Coco for protection in the new one!
I love how they kept every word for word on the dialog. They only added modern expressional tone which gives more action. I only wish they made Uka Uka's voice similar to the original, it was more intimidating.

They also changed Tawna's scene just so it could be more "politically correct" ...

Oh lord, even the timing are very much stay as close as original game, and the animations made it more lively. I think I'm going to love this game like original trilogy.
Actually, there are noticeable parts where the old footage is slowed.
The intro's now are very great! It's like view a movie.

I always thought N. Tropy's entrance in Warped was pretty creepy. His silhouette slowly makes its way over to the camera all while Uka Uka was talking, and he gives off a twisted expression when he comes into the lighting of the scene. While I certainly respect the new changes to all of the cutscenes, there are particular aspects of the originals that I still applaud.

I would've pefferd if they kept Uka Uka very dark and mysterious instead of the blue spirit at the start. It just gave this creepy vibe off. I honestly respect his voice actor but Clancy Brown did a amazing Uka Uka.
Agreed! When I was little and I first saw the Warped intro, I didn't notice him for a few seconds and it spooked me when I looked in the corner.

Fun fact: In both German versions Cortex says different things. In the original it's a confused (still hilarious) "Nnnpf???" and in the remaster he says "War ja klar!" (That figures!) Just, eh, thought I'd share it.

I prefer the remake's cutscenes over the orignal's. The animations in the remake's justs make them look better.
That, and there are a lot of subtle hints to some characterization, the games themselves and emotes. For example, in the Remake version of Crash 1, When Cortex witnessed the Cortex Vortex malfuntioning and said failure again, the way he emotes, may be a subtle hint to his previous attempt in Crash Twinsanity, or how in the Remake version of Warped, Uka Uka smiles when saying "I feel a little... generous" (with Cortex reacting to said emote), as if the original version couldn't be able to emote like that before, due to limitations; also in the same scene, N. Tropy comes in from the portal, that has his stage that is meant to be for his boss fight; as if the boss stage was actually his home. Afterwards, once Crash and Coco were being told the story of Uka Uka, *they knew* there's going to be an adventure involved.

Robert Walker you do know twinsanity takes place before this game right? He says failure again because of his attempts before this cutscenes itself. This is the first piece of the story.

The new intros are really great. Only nitpick is it's cooler to see and hear N. Tropy walk up from the shadows behind Uka Uka
Scott Elder Yeah that was something I always paid attention to, seeing that shadow getting closer and closer, was kinda creepy but really cool
2:35 it's funny how the old one is the one that added an effect when entering earth

Sasir New one is set further back, to where it is still no where near Earth- which is why it lacks that effect.

4:58 just MINOR freaking details like that make a huge contextual difference, simply explaining aku aku apparently teleported them (or maybe coco did), it makes a lot more sense. When I was a kid I always found it confusing how they just suddenly got to this machine in the middle of absolutely nowhere with no explanation
although the original looks a million times more vivid and colorful now that I look at them side by side...

I am SO GLAD N Gin has the same distorted voice he had in the original games...
jakesaysknee I actually prefer not having the distorted voice. I found his more human and crazy sounding voice in the later games a lot better

Quite a huge improvement over the original, not only the graphics are better, but the animations of their expressions are better and nice to see some little changes here and there. Still, I'm going to rent it before buying it to be safe.

in my opinion, the remake version is AMAZING !!! and better than the original, the version looks more realistic !, beautiful animation, the graphics are realistic and BETTER ! than the old one, and the intro looks like a movie !! , THIS IS AMAAAZING !!! THANK YOU SO MUCH VICARIOUS !! THEY DID A GREAT JOB !!!!
It's borderline disturbing how well DiMaggio's performance melds with the original intro of Uka Uka. Ditching the guttural phlegm for a more varied range really helps sell him as a character.
I'm glad they kept Coco's laptop as a laptop and didn't turn it into a tablet or some shit.

it's crazy how accurate the fucking timing is on these cutscenes considering all the obvious extra animations done. I love the crash 2 intro the most :)

The old game looks more colorful for some reason.
might be because of the limitations of the hardware: compensate a lack of detail by having colours that pop out and catch your eye.
the remake looks more washed out in comparison.
baked on lighting and colors vs an actual lighting engine. Thats what everyone seems to complain about. For me, if i have an issue, i'll turn up color and contrast.
SamVision I could be wrong, but the originals were built using displays that were less accurate at rendering enough colour, at least compared to the modern amoled displays we use today, hence the oversaturation? :D

Polar looks absolutely adorable! In the original and the remaster. Still and will always will be my favorite Crash character of all time.

Whoa this is really amazing they have done really good work and all who have worked on this and voice acted old and new should all be very proud of themselves selves :) and that poor frog that got sucked into the portal lol XD I love and missed the hump these games had feel after crash twin sanity they went down hill but this could well be the remaking of them in my eyes it's nice to see all the old favourites remastered.

2:38 In the PS1 Version the ship crashes on New Zealand but in the PS4 Remastered version it crash lands on Australia

Faisal Al-Yahya There are some changes in the games, time trials were added for the first 2, you can now play as Coco for almost every level, and now every game has the physics of Crash 3.
Also, the game had to be completely rebuilt from the ground up- the original games was basically just used to figure out the geometry.
So based on that, I _think_ a remake is more accurate.
Cortex, especially in crash 2, looks really goofy compared to the originals where he came off as sinister.

I will so buy this even tho I still have those for the ps2 working. But Uka Uka is more scarier in the ps1 version 3:20 from his appearance than in the new game with his black aura.

i dont know why but for me polar looks cuter in its original shape.
tbh original excels in sounds and some character designs but remake itself has its own cool unique touches.. well im gonna have all 6 games anyways
