Hey Mike that hitch disconnect and connecting was super impressive. Never saw that before. Thanks for getting the ground footage of that. Thanks for sharing Mr Farmhand.
As cool as the SP forage harvesters are to watch, there's something extra nice about watching a pull behind working. Seems like a very satisfying way to spend a day to me. The night time drone stuff was great!
I have to agree with you Mike - it is nice seeing an old pull-type chopper going to work. I also agree that the 4555 is handling that chopper pretty well and has probably been turned up a little. Nice video once again!
Great Video Mike, I have a soft spot for towed forage harvestors, especially were good skills are evident, i watched this video 2 years ago, and i watched again and enjoyed it just as much, thanks for sharing
I grew up on a farm with John Deere tractors, but not this big. It's cool to see so much power packed into a 2-wheel drive tractor. Nothing runs like a Deere.
Great video Mike. Not really sure why the 4555 tires are on backwards, I grew up hauling wagons with a pull type JD 3975 chopper, and a 4960 as the tractor running the chopper. I ran a 4020 with one of 3 NH 3 axle forage boxes.... that was right around 20 years or so ago... thank you for the trip down memory lane... catch you at the next one.
@@deplorablelibertarian really are you serious , liberals alleged human types . Tire lugs point forward in the direction of the work that is attempted to be done on a driven axle . A dead or pulled axle the lug point to the rear .
It was interesting that the rear tires were on backwards/opposite side from normal. Do you know if they did it just to even out the wear or for flotation like they do on the carts?
@@farmhandmike They probably just had more wear on the inside, so the tires where swapped from side to side so that the wear is more on the outside of the tire now. Just help having more from the tire over its lifetime.
Hi Mike ! How do they open the field with the pulled forage harvester without running down a lot of corn ? Also the hitch was special, hope you can video that clooser sometime. Allways great Videos, Than You

Real cool Mike. That's how I remember silage harvest--except those hitch assists! Those would have been awesome!
Love silage videos plus love two wheel drive tractor videos equals great video! Thanks Mike!
25 years ago when I worked at the feedyard, we ran 5488s and 2-7240s on 2 row Hesston choppers. You got into good corn it was all the tractors wanted.
Long hours chopping corn and Mike Less is there from the beginning to the end. Have a great day!

So is the tire thread supposed to pointing the other way then....how do we know it’s on backwards?

@@bryancovert9821....sorry to ask a question buddy, not everyone is a tractor expert like you. Teach us master.
Great video Mike! Very similar to our set up with the New Holland fp240 and John Deere 4555
Mike your videos are awesome and I'm always enjoying your videos. Keep up with the great work on your videos Mike
The pull types are hard in the neck. Gotta love all them straight pipes, John Deere makes em sing
As a kid we always had to hook up wagons with the pin. glad to see they got something better.
Hi from Pitsburg Ohio!!!
Great night video, that exhaust manifold is glowing red, they have the rubber band pulled pretty tight on that engine!
Great to see these farmers and the machinery
Awesome footage and very nice equipment.
Great silage chopping vlog, thanks for sharing
Great to see a pull type chopper😁👍 Nice video again mike👍😉
Pretty impressive process.
Great video, thanks Mike!
Enjoyed it very much Mike.👍
Loved the video mike keep up the good work
My neighbor used a versatile 555 with a gehl chopper and wagons for their dairy and allis Chalmers 6080 to haul them back to the silos.
awesome work
Great awesome video mike
great video
Come on Mike you know 150 green and yellow hp is like 200 normal hp!🤣 Great video.
Used to love cutting corn at night When it is cooler adds Little horse power lol
Great video
Love the nighttime shots lost the sound at the end of the video for some reason but my question is why are the tires on the 4555 on backwards
This is only a guess, But I think if it's muddy they don't get in as deep.
Makes me ready for summer time
I grew up doing that and miss it but do you have any videos of internationals chopping
Like the older john deere sound gurd tractors
It sounds like that engine is pretty busy at times.
Very very nice video
Nice video 😊👌

I really don't know why they had the tires on like this.

Is he running the tires backwards on the 4555 because he swapped sides to narrow the wheelbase for chopping corn?
Why are the rear tires on the 4555 backwards ? Just seems really strange to me whats the point ?
I didn't ask why?
Great video!
Who ever is running the chopper is not paying for the break downs 😂

Yes I’m curious about the hitches they were using like who made them
Muy bien 👍 amigo
The 4555 I owned was easily making over 200 hp. I'd say that one is too.
How do they “turn up” a tractor?
I believe you literally just turn a screw on the older ones to give it more fuel.
@@TysonDiniz ..yes and does not take much of a turn, had a 4430 turned up 30 hp.. was better for the tractor than lugging it
I like Mike less videos.
👍👍
Makes me reminisce of farming simulator
There just something about chopping at night
