"Very dangerous to be a tarakihi" made my day! You are a legend! Where about is the boat ramp, please? I'm hoping to get there next summer to create some memories for my children. Any hints would be greatly appreciated. Cheers from Chch!

I really must make a plan to go and dive again. It has been 4 years. We are only allowed 4 size rock lobster per day in season per permit. I usually get an extra permit on my wifes name and try to get 8 at a time, but its not allways easy. Tide needs to be right. Water must not be murky, etc etc. Season is twice a year. Only for a couple of weeks.
Don't mean to be an ENOS but that's not an actual Albatros it's a molly hawk and a member of the Albatros family IE like the diveing shear water Ext....
Awesome diving, hope to get to that spot in the next few years for a trip!

Those rocklobster/ crays look like the same species we have here in south africas coldwater westcoast
That's cool, the proper name for them here is spiny red rock lobster

Where in NZ is this. The nature there looks untouched by man.

Cheers for the comment, it could be a mollymawk which is a medium sized species of albatross. But I have never heard of a molly hawk
Was this through a charter ?
We went ourselves, but there are charters down there.
