Highland Park seriously needs to do something about the sirens in thier ambulances,they sound like dying cats
Christopher Brown Well they are Eq2b sirens. Thats what most departments use these days.

They need to put some real Q’s on those trucks. Liked the vid just not as much siren action as like others but that doesn’t make me any less intrigued. Keep it up!
Fun fact for you the only reason why they don’t is because the electrical key sirens a.k.a. the artificial ones are the ones that can reach higher altitudes of sound, and higher pitched sounds, which notifies traffic further up the road further down the road and more to notice more where the truck/unit is. It basically is just an extra safety feature. That is a lot more useful than the other key sirens while they do sound better the electric ones are just better all around.

What does the green light on the fire apparatus mean? In New York (state) a flashing green light in a POV means a responding member of an ambulance company.
It's a tradition in Chicago for the fire dept to have green lights on the right side if their rigs.
The green light is placed on the officer's side of the apparatus, signifying incident command while on scene.
It is easier to see and in Michigan it most likely means Volunteer responding to station to pick up trucks and gear.

Why do they require a class b or a to drive a fire truck when driving a bobtail truck is more dangerous and its bigger and you only need a class c
