Alex is immensely genuine. Wrote his acceptance speech in true Alex fashion. He may not have properly completed his task with the restrictions set by himself, but it was still great. Well done Little Alex Horne!
Unfortunately, he IS disqualified.
Genuinely so impressed Alex Horne put these extra restrictions on himself fo no reason and still killed the speech!

I couldn't believe it, I was just going through the campus on Monday and saw Alex Horne! I just went "Is that Alex??" And I asked him for a picture and he took one with me! Legend! Congrats on the degree!

This is the best honourary doctorate degree presentation and speeches that I’ve ever heard! The presenter’s words were heartfelt and touching, and Alex’s speech was not only funny but meaningful as well. He managed to be hilarious without being trite, just fantastic! Congratulations Alex!

The RUclips algorithm suggested Taskmaster to me early in the pandemic, and I am so glad it did. Alex’s creations have brought a lot of joy. SchoolTasking was news to me, but what a great idea. I tend to think honorary degrees are cheesy, but I understand this is the highest honor the school could give to show their appreciation, and Alex deserves all the appreciation he gets.
Sending a sincere congratulations to Little Alex Horne. I have no relation to this man other than watching him through a screen, but I feel a sense of pride seeing his work be recognized and honored. I hope the degree hangs nicely next to his loo's BAFTA

I just met Dr. Horne in a hotel buffet coincidently 20 minutes after watching this. What a nice bloke, even his family didn't seem to mind that I briefly interrupted their evening. Congrats on the honour Alex! He did that thing which true gentlemen do, he introduced himself even after I approached him - total class act!

I love this man, he deserves any and all accolades out there. He's such a delight ul and lovely man, Taskmaster was a stroke of genius and I'm ever so grate ul for Dave and later Channel 5 (i think) for putting it on RUclips. I also love No More Jockeys, they're all just such a laugh.

As a fan of Taskmaster, I am delighted that the University has recognized the quality and value of a show you have created, and that its reach lies beyond my laptop screen to help students learn ways to cope with the insanity that proliferates our world! Thank You for creating the situations that prompt us to laugh, and thank you even more for your willingness to expand your gifts as a teaching aid to a new generation.
Excited for this. But I do think we need to review the footage. I'm pretty sure that Alex paused the timer. If that's the case he did go over his time and I do think they need to take his Doctorate back due to disqualification. Greg will have to weigh in

Antastic. Well deserved. I am trying to start a science and reason education/promotion group here in Ottawa and TM, my favourite show by a light year, has given me inspiration to think about ways to encourage people to think in more creative and logical ways.

During a work retreat, we had a team building exercise, I trie dto bend the rules a la Taskmaster, arguing that what was not explicitly denied was acceptable.
