Kalanchoe loves a lot of diffused light and gets by with infrequent watering, thanks to its properties as a succulent. Many people believe that you shouldn't repot flowering plants, but I'll show you how to do it without disturbing the delicate roots. I share my own soil mixture, consisting of peat, fine river sand (coarse sand would be ideal), agro-perlite and an unexpected but indispensable ingredient: charcoal. These ingredients together create the perfect environment for your Kalanchoe to keep it healthy and blooming all year round.
In addition to soil preparation, we talk about the importance of drainage holes in the pots and why fine expanded clay at the bottom of the pot protects your plant from waterlogging. I'll show you how to protect the roots when transplanting and how removing the rotten lower leaves encourages new growth.

Thank you for your attention. In winter, my Kalanchoes are kept cool at a temperature of 15 degrees and I hardly water them. From spring to autumn I water no more than 2 times a month. 🌼
