While Mister did kill his own mother in the beginning, he did it out of self defense because she was abusive towards him and he has a mental illness that has him act a lot like a child. It's also why he ran away after he killed their mom. He has the mind of a child and didn't know what to do after both murders. He hid his mother's body in the attic because he didn't know what to do with her. Not an excuse for both murders, but it explains the situation in which they happened.
