- LYRICS -
Take me away,
To a different place,
Where I don't feel sick,
And I've got a little faith.
Do you feel,
The same as me?
I hope don't,
I hope you're free.
In the back of my car,
And in the back of my head,
I'm falling asleep,
And I am making amends.
I cover up my eyes,
To make myself blind,
But it's the same as before,
And it's easy to see...
I don't want to be loved, but I need to be loved.
And if I snooze the alarm, then will anybody notice I'm gone?
I've got nothing left,
And it doesn't feel right,
I look up to the sky,
What a wonderful life.
This feeling won't last,
But time will go on,
Well that's what they say,
And they are never wrong.
I don't want to be loved, but I need to be loved.
And if I snooze the alarm, then will anybody notice I'm gone?
If they released this song earlier they wouldn't have had to split. Such a good song.
These guys are going to get very far, their music is simply amazing.
It can't be true...
Viva Brother forever!!!
I just love you Viva Brother. Thank you for coming to Japan again and again.
Your music is my everything. Thank you !
Every so slightly in love with this....
Brilliant :)
x
Viva Brother are my favourite band and it upsets me so much that they've split. I hope the haters are pleased with themselves. Long live Viva Brother.
The band may have gone, but rock 'n' roll lives on in this song.
Actually glad i didn't read NME before i saw these at Leed Fest, decided i liked them before i had chance to get caught up in the negative hype.
Pretty Emotional Song, Long Live Viva Brother X
This song has grown on me so much! :(
They never said they wanted to be anything like Oasis, at the end of the day they were a brilliant band and this song is possibly there best work for them to give up now is such a shame because of such closed minded idiots slagging them off because they've nothing better to do with their time, this was music that we fans loved we never forced it on anybody and nobody ever had to listen to them WE LOVE YOU VIVA BROTHER
I saw them live, they made some great music!
look at the charts people , this isnt a bad band , they can play instruments unlike most and arent half bad at making a catchy song ...it takes a while for bands to get going .i think they should of givin it longer .
Love this song! I'll always be a Vivaette! VIVA BROTHER FOREVER! -3 shame on you NME!
This is actually a brilliant song
They'll always be in my heart, Goodbye Viva Brother.
shame they split, i thought they were alright. do like this tune quite a lot.
Great lyrics
Liked!.
Yes they were arrogant and yes the NME hyped them up but at the end of the day they were a decent band with some cracking tunes! Viva Brother you will be missed.
this song is actually so sad :(
omggg, new song! i ve been waiting for soooo long time! they are improving indeed! :D love them
LONG LIVE VIVA BROTHER!
Absolutely gutted really, loved their first album. Proper catchy tunes. And all the people comparing to Oasis? To be honest I'd say it would be a compliment to be compared to them. Top music all round.
i love this band and always will, who gives a fuck what NME has to say?! They make amazing music and look awesome as a band. And i am very upset that they've broken up.
RIP x
I LOVE YOU, MISS YOU LOADS. COME BACK! XXXXXXXXXX
They wouldn't have had any fans without NME. If you didn't visit the NME website you probably didn't know who they were. Let's be fair here, NME literally gave them the best score of any magazine that reviewed their album. 5/10 was the best score they got.
Still listening to there album, I know there was a divided opinion on them which personally I cant understand. But they had some fantastic songs. This one especially, big shame.
Ken Barlow has got it going on
Missed a chance to see them live at underage festival, so gutted. I actually loved them.
You have to admit there is ALOT ALOT ALOT worse music being produced at this moment in time. Personally I loved them and this song is brilliant.
Shame to see them go, their first album was good. Fun catchy guitar rock and I saw them at Leeds Cockpit - they were brill. They did wear their influences on their sleeves a bit but you gotta love the irony of people whining about them ripping off Oasis who are reknowned for nicking riffs off others.
I wonder how many people who slate them for being "manufactured" praise acts like Rihanna for being such an great "performer". At least they played their own music and didn't have to use autotune.
so sad... come back!!!
I like them as Lovelife now, but you gotta miss them as Brother...
Let's be honest they were never going to last, Britpop died in the 90s and was never going to come back.
This is fucking class, gutted they've split was proper looking forward to there next LP, hope they get back and release it! Music needs more British guitar bands!!
signing off with what sounds like a hungover u2 b side, quite fitting for a band that should never have been hyped.
The NME kept bigging them up and then randomly turned on them, slating them.
Blatant U-turn from NME in terms of their views towards Viva Brother. I'm positive they described them as something along the lines of "next big British rock band" then the minute the album was released they were intent on slating them as much as possible. My opinion on them will never change, and that's that they are a top band who deserved more support/credit. So glad I managed to see them live!
Never mind arguing about NME, this song is EPIC
COME BACCCKKKK!!
Love you
'saw them live last year, egos aside fact is they could play those guitars pretty damn well
Brother's label actually bought coverage from NME but this back-fired as the band were not nearly good enough to live up to the pedestal they were put on. Unlike the articles, you can't "buy" a positive review though, they are impartial and the opinion of a single reviewer and not the collective consensus of the company.
What's sad about this song is not that a good band has split up, but that next to the album this song is actually alright.
i want them to reform, so bad! at the very least realease your next album!
Hey heyy
Me gusta :)
Partially true, but what you forget is that being in that band was their job (just like any other band) and when they realised they were skint and it was all going down the drain they tried to make some last quick bucks.
Nice enough; reminds me of early/mid 90s bands like Adorable & Sussed. Unfortunately, both of those had better tracks
What do the charts being bad have to do with Viva Brother being bad? They're bad independent of each other.
Haha, bellend . Keep it comin man, you're hilarious.
beatles formed before dylan had achieved any ennotetity
i know:( i thought that was an april fool at first. that rly broke my heart :(
Yeah, remedial class.
Nevertheless, I think it's unfair how much power NME has over the music industry. They can make or end a bands career in an instant. I personally think that if you don't like a band then you shouldn't get involved. If less people slaughtered this band then their next album would be looked forward too by all their fans. I feel sorry for them.
You seem to think the people who read NME ONLY read NME? There are several music publications out there that can influence opinions. I personally haven't bought a copy of the NME in about 5 years. However, I still drafted my opinion of the band after listening to a few tracks and several interviews. The interviews were terrible and cringe worthy, especially the earlier ones. I also read articles from papers including the Guardian etc who unfortunately panned the band upon release.
This song makes me feel really sad cos I know the second album would have been amazing. Hopefully the guys all continue on in music, they have the talent I don't care what any of you twats think.
you can't blame NME for this. as much as the magazine is terrible, this band just weren't good enough. They were probably struggling to write new stuff and decided to bow out gracefully before getting horrendous 2nd album reviews.
What is actually so bad about them? this song seems okay to me?
there is lot worse doing good in the charts today at least these could play instruments ..unlike most today
@TalkingTaco15
Nobody rips off a failure. Or a fake.
NME didn't effect the band in anyway at all it was completely their own fault, don't get me wrong i like the band their music is decent stuff, but coming out thinking their the bollocks just didn't do them any favours, only a handful of bands can get away with that i.e. Oasis, viva brother should of just let their music do the talking. Part of it was their fault but it doesn't mean people can abuse them. through what viva brother have been through this makes the song more beautiful! Good band.
Come on lads. Get it back. Love life are shit
haha the tags
"Talentless people who can't write a song" describes this band pretty well, bro.
The lyrics ae really sad
Sure, but nobody ever liked them. Did you ever look at the comments sections on those NME articles? They were full of complaints. And none of their singles charted.
plus they were completely manufactured and no body likes being lied to
How does getting rid of your merch at half-off a "money grab"?
they've split. unlucky.
Had some potential, but not really fussed they've broken up. As for NME, everyone knows they are a complete joke of a music magazine.
Goodbye to an altogether average band. They became famous too soon before they had reached there creative abilities - if this was there first album stuff then maybe things would have been different (this track is much better than some of that rubbish). But I don't think I'll be missing this too much, I'll just stick on some Toy and The Neat instead.
dont you want to be loved?
Attitude problems turned NME away. Shame, quality music.
pretty sure NME has lost any salience and respect it had as a purveyor of good alternative music over the last decade
carry on listening to rap crap and disco
Don't get why so many complain about Viva Brother when there are more untalented people out there, Aka Niki Minaj, Justin Beaver, Lil Wayne, One Direction etc... STOP MOANING.
You do realise that it is actually "knob head"?
Look it up on urban dictionary.
Well if I'm honest I didn't know much about that because I was just a fan of some of their music, was just saying. Judging by what you said and seeing what happened to them they obviously sold out and yeah screwed their fans over which isn't cool but meh. It's not that much of a bigger subject to care about, personally that is. If they did half the stuff you said then yeah they're douchebags...
NME tried to make people like this band, because they were paid to do so. But they failed. When Geffen stopped paying them, they didn't have any reason to hype the band anymore. So they didn't. End of story. It's fucking pathetic that the band is still crying about NME. Nobody would have heard of this band if it wasn't for NME.
I'd rather have manufactured bands who can string a riff and a chord progression together instead of auto-tuned "bubblegum" shite anyday. Brother > Nicki Minge.
I don't give a shit about their personality, IMO they made brilliant songs and am extremely gutted that they've split. Real shame.
there not , like i said look at the charts most just get naked and they get a number 1 , or boring tedius rap gets to number 1 now
Band was a total waste of guitars and fashionable glasses. But i have to admit this song is pretty awesome
I hadn't heard of them just until now. As far as I can hear this song is pretty good.
Not the best, but I've heard a lot worse stuff. And fu** that shit about a lack originality
who gives a damn, as long as there are people who can enjoy it, go mind your own business
lovelife are worse ....thought they wanted to bring guitar bands back?!
You are kidding right? The band themselves ruined it. They came out with all these controversial statements, trying to act hard, and attempting to do the 'working class hero' routine. They came across false and not many people could buy it or stomach their act. The music was fine, but you couldn't take them seriously.
Oh dear, there's nothing worse when insulting someone's spelling when you can't get your own spelling right. It's YOU'RE not YOUR, i.e you are.
NME broke this band. Massive shame.
well, the album turn out to be shit, so the NME was right
I dislike the NME, but seriously they're being used as a scapegoat here. In essence, this band are a bunch of tossers. They burst on the scenes, had a couple of controversial quotes, but then lacked the actual tunes to back it up.
No great loss.
they wernt as bad as some people made out but they were a very very average at best band and lets be honest they were absolute bellends and came out with the most ludicrous claims about being the best band ever and headlining glastonbury lol so i cant say im to gutted
"this isnt a bad band"
Patently false.
awful
