My guess is that a lot of people already have the TAM 2IP or the A1A1 L/44 so they're not jumping on the Premium 2A4. Plus the 2A4 isn't anything special to begin with either, I'd consider it a strictly average tank at best.
I really like the leo2a4. It fits the tank triangle nicely with decent armor, firepower, and mobility. I do agree though there is nothing special about it

Tbh, the 2A4 has it pretty much the best of the leopard 2's because of it's br/enemies it faces and that it's a bit lighter than the 2A5 and 2A6, that and it's armour is fine for that br
Usually when I spot this tank it either is manned by a veteran that will eliminate you before you notice or by a total noob who bounced off your Bmp2m missiles

just buy it and and test in 2 RB. I dont know is it tank or my behavior while played but in 2 battles each i have moments when i just stay still and enemy didnt see me and pass, then i easily hit them.
It's just a standard Leopard 2A4, but with fancy camo netting. There's literally no upgrades per se at the same BR. Same goes for the new Challenger premium, there probably won't be much people jumping on it. (Unless they want a proper premium tank to grind the British tech tree I guess....? Though I far prefer the Rooikat 105, much more fun and now with DM33 too.)
The TURMS on the other hand provided much more enticing 'upgrades' per se, especially with the Gen2 Thermal Sight for both the gunner and commander. The M1A1 AIM, despite being a squadron vehicle, will probably be much more popular as well, as it is the first Abrams available to have a Gen2 Thermal Sight. And you can either grind it for free, slowly. Or just outright purchase it.
Personally would've preferred if they had some kind of Leopard 2 that sits between a 2A4 and the 2A5, similar to the PL. Perhaps something like 2A4M from Canada or the 2SG from Singapore.
Or a base leopard 2

Leopard 2a6M would also be nice. Isnt that much of an upgrade but it looks badass like the challanger 2 tes. Its just a Leopard 2a6 with mine protection.

Ex tanker here, or well self propelled howitzer man so close enough. Some camo netting does indeed have materials that disrupt thermal sights, that being said a tank in action is so hot that the effect is practically non existent in active combat, but it combined with foliage is extremely effective at breaking up a tanks signature in ambush and such, at least that is what they taught us.
Besides aren't most if not all the sights in game infrared only? There's really no thermal imaging for what I've seen. Partial cover doesn't have significant effect on IR either, and a camo net with holes in it is pretty useless in that regard.
@@disadadi8958 yea, from what I remember, the idea of the thermal disrupting camo net is more to break up the signature of the tank rather than really hide it. Works far better in real life than it does in game.
@@addedcheese Yeah, could be. We used camo nets to cover our tents against IR leakage, any holes or gaps would glow like thousand suns with a night vision device.
But maybe in the heat of the battle just breaking the shape is enough indeed.

There's 2 reasons I think why no one is using this
1) to grind, the L44 is a better option as you don't have to deal with 11.0s and because german 9.0 lineup/winrate is amazing
2) as a vehicle itself, it's just a 2a4- no one wants to spend all that money just for some camouflage netting

I think a great thing about it is that the front doesn't reflect light, making it harder to spot especially in close quarter combat
Camo netting isn’t used for blocking thermals, the net when used for overhead cover heats up entirely and doesn’t allow drones to identify what type of vehicle is under it. Putting it on the vehicle itself just gives concealment.
There are thermal blocking camo nets, we used them in our hidsites and to cover our humvees they work very well.
Honestly my favorite MBT/premium in the game so far. Only issue is the shell penetration at range really.
I love the new engine sound for the Leopard 2's and the Radkampfwagen 90
If this does end up mitigating thermal sights in the future, gaijin should add the Swedish 90210 (I think that’s right) with the stealth thermal plating
I just wish they'd finally add the up armoured 2a4 between the 10.0 and 11.0 that is between germany. Its not like there isn't enough guess work platforms and rounds with in the game already so it wouldn't do anymore damage

For all intents and purposes, this is an extra Leo 2 that you can add to your lineup and i'm fine with that, only major difference is it's lack of a dozer blade.
I already have the Leo 1 with the L44 gun, may get this in the future to make up for my lack of TAM 2 IP

In my opinion, if you are a newer player closer to that BR than having the premium would help, 10.0 Germany having a decent line up, but if you're a German Main/Wehraboo or have the tree researched already, then you are paying those GE for the netting. Collectors Item also, but other than that it's just a 2a4 with a dope skin and Camo Netting (which IS Dope!) So depending on who is making the purchase I guess. Either way good video, happy hunting o7
I yeeted the fucking backups and paid for a full tank 🤣🤣🤣 honestly I did. My ground is done but I wanted to have a good br 10 SL grinder and I have no regrets.

When I think about this update I have 2 things in my mind:
1. Copy+paste
2. F-14
(3. cool souds and graphics)
And still I wouldn't be mad at this leo...if this mesh (?) / net has some impact of your detection, just like it suppose to be

The y change the sounds every 6 months or some shit, have no idea why.
What i want most to come out of this patch though, is exploration of dynamic camo nets as decorations. The bushes are utter garbage, and nowhere near as useful as people think (ill see a tank covered in bushes before i see a tank without them), but if they were to make proper camo nets, that had dynamic models to here they will drape over the contours of your tanks, or wrap around the barrel, i would GLADLY buy those things up.
The fact that you call the whole update as: Copy paste vehicles + F-14 is quite mind boggling considering the amount of unique vehicles other nations get (especially China)
the graphics overhauled, the game has literally thousands of bugs, no ammo detonation, visual glitches, map breaking, lag spikes, gamma problems, and so much more it's fucking broken but, I play America so now they can stop crying about the F-14 at least

In war thunder, it is a light tank. The tank fires heat from an 85mm gun in the game. There are a few other shells it can fire though.

Good stuff Justin..just to FYI: I just purchased the Challenger DS to help push me further into the British tech tree. Also seemed smart since I had the Harrier Gr1 since it came out and he felt a little lonely as my progress through the British tech tree had stagnated and turned into a real slogfest. Harrier had no stablemate to play with and this seemed like a way to re-kick-start my slog through the tech tree. Trying out the Challenger DS was a lot of fun last night, I have to say so you might want to try it out.

The problem is they are charging 60 smackaroons for a tech tree tank with a fancy cosmetic on it. At least with the L/44 you get a getter gun and thermals, so it is different that the tech tree leopard ones.
