Canon S100 Camera Lens Error

The Canon S100 is notorious for generating a lens error without warning. I am an adult photographer who takes good care of my camera. I was walking through a garden one day taking pictures and out of the blue it just suddenly showed a black screen with white letters, with a lens error. After that, no matter how much cleaning or attentive care I gave it, I could not get the lens error to go away. Note that the back of the case is off in this video.

I gave it to a friend of mine who bought a new part for it and it worked fine for years after that.

@@koenpolfliet5061 He didn't tell me - I think he just ordered the entire electronic innards set from a supply shop and redid the entire innards. Sadly he has passed away so I can't ask him now.
