WRSA Inclusivity Quilt Unveiling

After the death of George Floyd in 2020, Writing, Reading, Speech Assistance (WRSA) staff in the Learning Commons embarked on a quest to learn, reflect, and grow in their personal and professional roles regarding antiracism, equity, and social justice topics. WRSA staff took a two-year deep dive to interrogate their own biases, explore antiracist writing center pedagogy, and ensure that all students feel Welcome, Respected, Safe, and Accepted.
The WRSA Inclusivity Community Quilt (accompanied with artist statements) was created with the purpose of celebrating and exploring their journey towards being a more antiracist and inclusive community.
On August 30, 2022, we unveiled the WRSA Inclusivity Community Quilt outside the Learning Commons (SRC 2102).
