Question: why do you play background music on your videos? If you really understood tinnitus you'd know that we are trying to focus on what someone is saying while trying to block out the noises in our head. We don't need extra noise distractions
Actually, moderate background noise (not elevator noise xd) is good for masking tinnitus, and you can concentrate better with a masked and CONTROLLED tinnitus. Its all about controll, if you controll the noise, it wont be a "danger" environment for your subconcous mind, and your concentration will improve. I have succesfull hypnosis therapy with this logic, and living with T perfectly fine, with rarely peaks and concusly avoid hyperacusis situations.
Lots of people in the comments not understanding "somatic tinnitus". Tinnitus that started from noise, medication, stress, neck/jaw issues, from virtually ANYTHING is considered "somatic" IF you can make your tinnitus change with ANY sort of movement such as clenching your jaw, opening your mouth, moving your neck, etc Somatic tinnitus does NOT mean only tinnitus that developed from neck/jaw issues. Susan Shore's theory is that the majority of people have somatic tinnitus. The studies have been done for somatic tinnitus but this does not mean that people who don't have somatic tinnitus won't be able to use or benefit from the device. They just haven't tested it on such cases to keep the research focused which allows them to release the device faster.
Ben, she’s gone on record as saying it’ll probably help non somatic and the reality is most tinnitus has a somatic element regardless of whether it’s joint related or noise induced, come on you know this!

The link between the somatic sensory nerves and auditory nerves was first detailed by two Brazilian scientists so this research is not novel just and attempt to exploit what is known. The research showed that unlike cats that move their ears to detect the direction of sound humans rely on monitoring changes in the signals from the neck and shoulder muscles that are integrated with the auditory signal. Any problem with these muscles, such as the common head forward position from over use of computers or mobile phones causes an abnormal waveform which the brain interprets as tinnitus - somewhat like the feedback from a microphone placed too close to a speaker The answer is not a device like this but a solution to the real problem for which one needs to see a chiropractor as ENT doctors and audiologists have not got a clue about this problem. I solved my own tinnitus problem via this route and understanding of the proble.
I'm very interested in what you said bcs i've been leading a sedentary lifestyle for the last 15 years :) And one of my friends experiences the same thing. So can you tell me what you did, exactly, and point me in the right direction?
Thank you for your postings. Please appreciate the feedback. My recommendation is that no background tones be played with your videos. it becomes a nuisance after a while.
You have a misunderstanding. The study selected people that react to somatic stimulation which doesn’t mean the tinnitus has a somatic cause. Most people react to somatic stimulation even when the tinnitus is due to heating loss or any other reason. The main reason of bothersome tinnitus is a hyper sensitive cochlear. The point is the treatment can be effective regardless of the cause of tinnitus.
In terms of the animal study, did the researchers induce a somatosensory type of tinnitus in the animal test subjects? If not, then how would the treatment be limited to only those with somatosensory based tinnitus? If they induced cochlear or other types of tinnitus and the research showed improvement, then could one assume it work on those other types of tinnitus? I would think they'd want an apples to apples type of comparison here unless I'm oversimplifying it.
What are your thoughts about it working for non-somatic cases? I think there have been studies to show that Tennitus originates in the dorsal cochlear nucleus due to hyperactive fusiform cells. Coincidently, this is exactly what the device targets to reprogram them to homeostatic potential. What are your thoughts?

It shows he doesn't know what he is talking about.and is a hearing aid pedaler
Isn't this somewhat similar to the Lenire device?
Background music in this video is nerve racking with severe tinnitus
release date when
She said in interview as longest you hear sound it will help to reduce Tinnitus noise , somatic T, hearing loss T , head trauma T . I think only meniers T is challenged and acoustic trauma T
Where’s that interview?
Girl name hazel , she’s director off tinnitus hub and talk , tinnitus sufferers gathered 900 questions for Susan , she only answered 35 , one of the questions was is devise helps non somatic tinnitus? She said yes as longest you hear sound . Excluded meniers, acoustic trauma and cochlear implants
When is the release date of this device? Anybody know that?
As of now, the release date has not been confirmed. Susan Shore and her team are currently working on getting regulatory clearance for the device, and will continue to provide as much information as possible along the way.
How would you know if you have somatic T? I got my T when I was so burned out I lost weight and had hard time relate to reality. Two year prior to that I noticed that my right ear lost hearing. Quite a bit in fact. But during these 2 years I did not have any T. I relate my T to somatic, but how can I be sure? When I move my jaws left to right and vc I can increase the sound. My T lowers every now and then so I cant really cant notice it that much. But, again, I can increase or activate to a higher pitch by moving my jaws. Any input would be welcome. Thanks.
If you notice tinnitus changing in pitch or volume relative to positional body changes, then it is considered somatic tinnitus. Check out our blog to learn more about somatic tinnitus: treblehealth.com/somatic-tinnitus/
I like the background music. Helps with the T.
Will this device available in India in future.
If yes, how long it take to available in India???
We don't have enough information to know when it will be available internationally. Keep an eye on their site for latest updates.
@@treblehealth thank u sir for your reply.
Will this thing help for noise induced T and/or hyperacusis? Thanks for everything!
Yes , because all tinnitus comes from DCN
It will be intended to use for tinnitus, regardless of the cause. We are unsure if it will be approved for hyperacusis purposes.
@@treblehealth thanks for your reply, you do great work!
Do you have any idea what it's like to have tinnitus and live in Canada? I see these "ads" for ways to improve my situation but I can't get it because I live in Canada.
Graham, I feel for you. We will do our best to help get you connected with the right care for your situation.
If it gets lounder as I clench my jaw is it somatic?
i have the same
I've had great results with Stress Reducing Mindfulness Training for tinnitus patients. The tinnitus is still there, but less noisy and the sounds changed from loud peeps into a mild grey sound.
Ronald, agreed! We've seen that as well.
I'm very glad that you are feeling better. How can I go through such a program, is there a link?
I cannot remember when my tinnitus started, But don't remember having it when I was young. I suffered right sided bells palsy when I was 12 and as far as I can tell, it has been there since. Its loud in a loud room ( I work with animals in a retail setting) and can be heard even through masking.
Dr. Shore research states, that every type of tinnitus can be somatic (including hearing loss tinnitus). In addition to that 80% of all tinnitus cases are somatic according to dr. Shore. I`m really frustrated with lack of precision in your info about this breakthrough research.
I will add my vote for changing the background music. Very annoying…
My tinnitus gets worse after brushing my teeth and esp after brushing my tounge. Would this indicate that I have somatic tinnitus?
It could be jaw related somatic tinnitus. We recommend following up with your dentist.
@@treblehealthWhat can the dentist do? Mine just laughed!
I have t since last April because of tmj muscolar problemas. I did fisioterapy and im using a mouth guard at night but my tinnitus never left. I Hope this Will help
Thank you
causality and correlation are not the same thing. hard evidence is needed.
Agreed! The results section of this video were reported fairly quickly, but I'm glad to know that you want more details. Next video I will consider how to include that.
Uh, the word you’re groping for is “correlation”
@@recipehacker9752 thank you.
Very interesting to me since my tinnitus began after oral surgery, plus I have TMJ Dysfunction Syndrome-one condyle is flat instead of round and I am waiting for a bionic jaw! Please leave off the background music.
it arrives when i dig my earhole by using an earpick
i know i'm the most stupid person in the world
I'm glad you made a video about this device, but you are wrong about somatic tinnitus. It's not tinnitus associated with physical issues, like the neck. Studies show that 70% of NOISE INDUCED tinnitus is somatic. Misinformation like this is dangerous.
I'm aware of researchers that have claimed that. But there's other researchers that find a much smaller prevalence for somatic tinnitus. I will be the first to admit that I have more to learn in this regard. I can do better and thank you for your comment.
This sounds promising for some people.
A lot of us find that taking a shower reduces our tinnitus. Do you think it's because of dual sensory modulation, similar to Susan Shore's device? The combination of the high-frequency sound of the shower, along with water hitting one's face and neck seems like it might be doing something similar. For me, a ten minute shower often knocks out the ringing for the rest of the day.
Omg how I wish that was my experience.
A shower does nothing for my tinnitus. Maybe I should try a different soap? 😊😊
@@trueblue177 I'm sorry that one doesn't work for you... works for me more days than not, but nothing works every time. Wishing you all the best (and some fragrant soap!)
@@susanspencer442 and all the best to you and your family
@@HeatherHernandez It doesn't work every time, but I am glad when it does. Didn't mean any offense; just wondering if the reason it works is similar to the way the Susan Shore device works. Hoping for better days for all of us.
That's very mild tinnitus, if even tinnitus at all.
"...not elevator noise" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hola doctor ben. esperemos que sea pronto lo necesitamos urgente en Latinoamérica hay gente de la comunidad de tinitus que ya se volvió loca creo. Saludos
This device can and will be tried on anyone including those that are not somatic...to say that it is somatic only is a bit of misinformation.
My doc say tinnitus cant be somatic
@@BlueBanistersLoveMay be but I believe that nobody know really what are tinnitus, they cant cure them.Only pulsatile tinnitus are known. Unfortunnatly for the rest.

How can you tell if an animal has tinnitus?????
Believe it or not, it's possible! It comes down to gap detection. An animal cannot detect a gap of a sound within their own tinnitus range.
How many people have you tried this on and what is the % of the outcome?
It is not yet available to the public as it is still going through the approval process and not yet FDA approved..
Dr Ben Thank you for mentioning the "cc option" as the music is Very irritating to me
You're welcome. We strive to ensure that everyone can access the content comfortably. 😊
The background music is extremely distracting and too loud.
I cannot concentrate on what Dr. Ben is saying while this annoying sound track is playing. What is the purpose of it?

Thanks for your feedback! We'll make sure to remove it for future videos.
@@treblehealth Thank you. The tinnitus alone makes concentration difficult. Throw in another distraction such as a sound track then it is difficult X 2.
Background music is very distracting
The future problem with this device is that it will be over priced and Insurance will not pay nothing, Nada.
Lenire device way overpriced and most people will not pay for something that their insurance won’t cover,
Are there any used or reconditioned devices for sale yet?
you are lucky for being able to buy it, in China you buy NOTHING
where could I buy it?
It is not yet available to the public.
@@treblehealth Better than lenire system? Both are similar
The 3 main causes noted here do not mention the one mine is which was the result of head trauma.
Can you change the volume or tone with any sort of head movement or jaw clenching? If so, that means it’s somatic and this will help.
Another video that offers absolutely no value because he just wants to make money from everybody else who has problems.

Some audiologist says that tinnitus can't be somatic....its the audio nerve for everybody

Can i work with treble Health when i live in norway?😊
Unfortunately, due to the audiology licensing laws in the United States, we are unable to work with patients who live in other countries. While we cannot provide our services in other countries, Treble Health has a Tinnitus Relief Web App that is accessible to anyone! Our app has guided courses created by our team of audiologists, which go in depth about many of the treatment methods that they use with their patients, hours of custom sound therapy tracks, educational reading materials, and more. Can anyone with tinnitus use this or is it just people with somatic tinnitus.
It is not yet on the market so we are unsure which tinnitus patients will benefit.
