Watching this on my 75 th birthday after a pancake party with my grandsons. Love how you two work together. Stone ware and green are the best. Love the odd ones and the wee ones. Keep it going. Jack needs to sing more.
Yes!!!! There you are Sarah!! Love you 2 together....when the world needs more wholesome and clean things to watch...minus the 'dirty' secrets we love to see popping out! Keep making a difference! ❤❤
they do make a difference!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed our wee video 😊 Sarah & Willie x
This is quickly becoming one of my new favourite channels on RUclips.
Glad to hear it!! Much more to come 😀👍
It's great seeing both of you out there digging together. Lovely work Sarah!
The tree ornaments turned out so beautifully!
Thanks Denise!
Sarah you found some awesome bottles and other fab pots. Willie had the same good luck. I enjoyed this video greatly. Great ornaments.
Thanks Sherry - glad you enjoyed it 😊
Congratulations on your fantastic finds. Everything was in great shape, no broken or chipped. My favorite the large green ridged bottle, magnificent. I didn't tell you that I absi love the small Amber bottle with little bumps on it. It makes me so happy when I see it. I know it traveled a long way and has a history in your beautiful Scotland. Thank you so much for this little treasure. Can't wait for next week's video. Great to see the lovely Sarah, you did great!!! 🐕🎄🎊
Hey Guadalupe, thanks - glad you enjoyed it! I'm really pleased also that you're getting joy from the items we dig. I noticed today your name on a mailing label, so there's more coming your way! Sarah runs the Etsy, so I don't really get to see what's being shipped most of the time.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the support with our Etsy store. Your custom is very much welcome and appreciated. Plenty more videos coming soon!
Willie :)
What An amazing day you both had. Brilliant finds, some really gorgeous bottles, I also loved the chain and what you did with it.
I truly like the way Sarah dig, showing actual retrieval of treasures (no offence Will 🙂)! The restoration is amazing. Thank you both!
Thanks Dana! Glad you enjoyed it. Although in Willie’s defence - he’s a lot stronger than me so digs deeper and finds much more stuff, so if he dug everything like me he’d be there all night! Sarah x
Great day, and it’s nice that Sarah’s out for a treasure dig, and for company, and, for the all-important celebration dances! Yay!🥳
Couldn’t disappoint on the dancing..! 😀👍
Fantastic dig. Sarah you worked magic for your new tree ornaments
Thanks Denise! Sarah x
You all make a great team! Love the video! Thanks for sharing your finds!💕

Good to see you Sarah. Yow two found some amazing items! I love what you did with the brass chain. They are awesome decorations.
Thanks! 😀👍
Love that metal chain you found Sara - gorgeous upcycle!
Thanks Jill 😊👍
Sarah nice to see you out again. Willie shouldn’t get to have all the fun. Besides you add some Beauty and class to the video
Exactly! I’m glad someone else agrees 😜 Sarah x
Sarah those Christmas decorations are stunning!! Well done!
Thank you! I had no idea how to why were going to turn out, but I love them 😀👍 Sarah x
Great finds! Sarah’s Christmas tree decorations are pretty. I love seeing bits and pieces recycled like this.
Thanks Kathy! Glad you enjoyed it 😀👍
This tip is really keeping you going :)
It’s a great place! So many treasures to be found 😀👍
You guys nailed it today!
Thanks Martin 😊👍
Sarah's Cream Pot is exceptional. Congratulations to both of you. Wonderful finds. Thank you for taking me along. I believe my favorite finds have always been ink pots, cream or jam jars, and frozen Charlottes.
Greetings from North Carolina U.S.A.
Thank you Peggy glad you enjoyed it 😊 Sarah & Willie x
Hi Sarah❣️
Does anyone else see a knight on his horse in that glass pane?!
I did!!
That mystery bottle is stunning!!
That pink glass is to die for! You should try your hand at bead making 🤷🏼♀️
I can see that chain as a belt on a maidens dress… possibly?
Lol me thinks Sarah needs a pair of her own gloves ☺️ these are huge so lovely to see her again on the dig and really embracing and enjoying it you two are such a lovely couple joyful to watch and I also loved your Christmas song so good to see your smiling faces and what great lyrics and video smashed it!! Of course Jack Spaniel's played his part beautifully! I'm stuck at home after an operation and you guys are making my days a lot more bearable thank you for sharing your adventures I especially love the foraging and making videos too 🥰
Hi Helga, what a lovely comment - most appreciated from all of us at DSoS HQ!
We hope you make a full and swift recovery. Plenty videos for you to work your way through - over a hundred I think! I hope you don’t need to watch them all though and you’re back to full health soon. Willie 🙂
@@dirtysecretsofscotland I've started on the bottom a few weeks ago and I'm working my way to the top 😁 I'm about to watch episode 47 I think you always give me a laugh with your belter dances and I should be fine really it's nothing major but thank you so much for your well wishes!!🧸 Right back to the videos yay 😍
Great video! Love the ornaments!
Thanks! Sarah x
Fantastic episode. Sarah’s just as entertaining. Great finds. Very good idea with the Christmas tree decoration. Looking forward to Sarah’s new channel. Well done ;)
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it. Need to get you out on another dig soon! W 😊
Awesome video guys! Two belters! (and the finds were good too 😁) Brilliant job on the lamp chain Sarah! Looking forward to your new channel 😃 x
Thanks Amanda! 😀👍
Love that you repurposed the chain into
Christmas tree ornaments . Elegant way to
ensure nostalgic tokens . Love your show
and crafts dears . Anne Minnick , Massachusetts , USA . Carpe Diem ! Happy
Holidays !
Thanks Anne! I didn’t really know what I was going to do with the pieces of chain even when I started working on them, but so happy with how they turned out! Sarah x
Nice work guys!
Thanks Bryony!! 😀👍
Hi, the first ribbed mystery bottle could be a salad oil bottle. Similar examples have been dug here are known as salad or goldfields oils. Bob.
Beautiful christmas ornaments Sarah.
Thank you Anna! I really enjoyed making them 😊 Sarah x
You're welcome. Is your channel going to be like Willie's? If so, I'm in!!!😁😁
awesome dig.... catching up lol
A huge S for Sherry. Lol me. I know Sarah will love it though. You go girl.
Juntos encontrarnos grandes tesoros, felicidades
we get a few of the dumfries bottles here in cumbria.i have one of them in amber.nice bottles and great dig by yous
Thanks Neil! Glad you enjoyed it 😀👍
Great video but no Jack Spaniels? Love the ornaments Sarah! Great idea!
Thanks Susan! Jack spends the day with his grandparents while we are digging (too much broken glass for doggy paws 😢) but I’m sure he will make another appearance soon…got to keep his fans happy! Sarah, Willie & Jack 🐾
Great dig both of you. Some really good stuff coming out. Let's hope you can keep it going👍 Any chance those glass tiles are faded lantern slides?? 🤔
We will keep digging as long as there’s stuff to find!!
What a belter of a day! Lovely to see Sarah back, and looking forward to her channel. The glass squares might be from ye olde camera/ photographic development equipment?
Thanks Jayne! There’s still a few bits to work on but hopefully won’t be long…😊 Thanks for watching! Sarah & Willie x
So nice to see Sarah back. You two make a good team. Gotta say though I miss Jack Spanial. 💗🤷🏼♀️ Love the back and forth. Don't worry Willie, she won't eclipse you, lol.
p.s. I think it is very sweet that you gave her your broom to use for cleaning. What a gentleman. And good dig!
Thanks Wendy! It was nice to be back again, but I’d have to do a lot of digging to eclipse Willie! I try my best though 😊 Sarah x
Could that be a horse bridle. Those pickle jars would be great etched with dirty secret of scotland and thistle logo!
Definitely ideas for t he future…🤔😀
Nice
Sarah's glass plates may have been for taking photos.
Thanks Christie - that seems to be a popular idea. You might be onto something! Just a shame there’s nothing on them..
Great seeing you both on a dig , and sorry willie but I think Sarah beat you I think she got the coolest finds 😁👍❤️
I agree!! Thanks Linda 😊 Sarah x
I agree!! Thanks Linda 😊 Sarah x
Aha! First comment! Now for the video. ❤️
Sarah l found a stack of glass like that 50 years ago and they were negative photo plates. Too bad thats not what you found. Or they might be. Never know. Hehe
@@tinaredington1292 ooh that’s interesting Tina - I wish they had some kind of image on them, but they were completely clear. We thought maybe window panes that had been removed?
@@dirtysecretsofscotland thats probably what they are. Great finds. 👍🏻
I love all the cream pots. Must have been expensive containers. Do they still use them? Here in Ohio, the USA it comes in little cardboard cartons. Not much for future mudlark finds, huh?
Enjoyed your video. But I sure hope you're wearing a mask when cleaning the metals!
Sarah you need gloves that fit.
Sarah so glad to see you back at a dig. Beautiful finds, both of you. Both cream pots and the Lysol bottle are my favorites of the dig. Sarah, your ornaments are wonderful. Thank you both.
Thanks Debbie! It was nice to be back, but I’d forgotten how much hard work it is 😅
Cheers from Treaty 6 territory in Western Canada. Loved seeing Sarah again but I was sad there was no dance after she found the cream pot and then... jackpot! We get a dynamic duo dance! I'll be humming the song for the rest of the day. :)
Sarah wasn’t escaping without a dance after that find!
Well done you two, especially Sarah on her first cream jar, remember my late wife’s first cream jar she found, rubbed it in all the way from Cardross to Dumbarton on the train, the half orb Sarah got, think it was a carpet bowl,we used to get coloured one at a dump in Helensburgh.Keep up the good work.👍
Thanks Robert! I’m getting so many firsts when I dig - got a way to go to match Willie though! Sarah 😀
What a great dig for both of you! I was wondering if Sarah's chain could have been a women's belt. The ornaments it of it came out lovely.
Hi Shanna - glad you enjoyed it! Good shout about the belt, it could definitely have been that too! Sarah, Willie & Jack x
Amazing finds! Sarah found my favorite, that being the mystery ribbed bottle. It’s so unusual.
Thanks for sharing another great dig!
Good luck on the next!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 😊👍
Couple nice bottles but unfortunately our American bottles actually hold a incredibly strong value compared to that stuff. I have sold up to $17,000.00 whiskey and bitters bottles from America and Historical flasks in excess of 31k. THANK YOU FOR your kindness 😌.
Merry Christmas from Canada! Your videos are a wonderful gift every week. The time and thought you put into making a good and entertaining video are very much appreciated. What kind of trees are growing there in that bottle tip? They all look the same and seem very evenly spaced like a tree farm lol.
Merry Christmas from Team DSOS!! So glad you enjoy our videos 😀 We aren’t sure what type of tree they are, but we know they were planted by the landowner to cover up the tip (there’s so much broken glass that they can’t farm it) Sarah & Willie x
I've noticed the forest for some time, and your inquiry gave me impetus to find out. I found a documentary on Scottish woodlands, and I think the trees at the bottle dig are hairy birch.
Nope, got a bit of a better view, just an ordinary birch!
Thank you for another fun video. Between your songs, dances, and voice-overs it's always great entertainment...still about the finds...but never dull. 😀 Sarah's cream pot was my favorite find, but I loved many of them. Nice job with the chain upcycle too, it came out really nice. Thanks again. 👏
Great dig! Sarah, if you put a leather strap, like a wrist watch strap, with snaps on the part that connects to the watch, you could make beautiful bracelets out of your chain links! Congrats on the cream pots! 🤗
Well done! Beautiful work Sarah!
Thanks Theresa! 😊👍
Congratulations on the cream pot find, Sarah. In such great condition too! Love the ornaments. Imagine the person who threw that chain away would surely be amazed what you turned it into. As always, thank you both for sharing your finds with us.
You’re very welcome Peggy - glad you enjoyed it!!
Greetings from Michigan! Hurray on the cream pots. Sarah I love your odd shaped bottles! Very unique! Always wonderful to see you two together. Love what you did with the broken chain! 🎄🎅🇺🇸
Thanks Deborah! Glad you enjoyed this outing - we certainly did 😀👍 Sarah & Willie x
I may be daft but Sarah's first Mystery Bottle certainly looked like it had "L&P" on the bottom @14:53, which would tell me that it's a Lea and Perrins. @35:15 Isn't that a Carpet Bowl? Great finds for both of you throughout the hunt. Well Done.
Thanks! 😀👍
Hi, Sarah, from Missouri, US. So happy you joined forces with Willie and found such amazing bottles and crockery to do the Dance of Joy.💃🕺
Thanks Sandra! Glad you enjoyed the dancing 😀👍
Some great finds in this episode!! Could the half round ball be a carpet ball? Enjoyed the rainy day crafts :)
Oh another quick question what kind of pickled stuff would be put in those little bottles with such a narrow opening? I’ve always wondered about that when I see larkers finders them! Thanks 💕💕wV🇺🇸
Hi Lynette - they would have pickled pretty much anything, as they didn’t have fridges back then! It could be a kind of chutney, shredded vegetables like beetroot or cabbage or even cockles or mussels.
Sarah I love your repurposed chain into Christmas decorations. Very creative!
Thanks Amber! Glad you enjoyed it 😊👍
Very well done Sarah. An excellent use of found resources. The brass is just right as Christmas tree ornaments. No one else will have them.
Thanks Joan! I’m glad you like them 😊👍
Sarah awesome finds my friend ❤ Willie come on find a belter as yall say Christmas is coming 😀 😉 👍 luv you both and Jack
Thanks Billie! We really appreciate your support 😀👍
Cream of Simon 😳😂
Creased haha, especially as I heard you trying to contain your laughter also 🤣
Willie has such a way with language…I’m sure it sounds fancier in a french accent 😂 Sarah x
lovely to see you back Sarah, great video as usual, and love the dancing, and the music
Thanks Kathy! I couldn’t let Willie have all the limelight after all! 😂
What a great idea for that dirty metal! I love you both! Keep it up.
Thanks Diane! Glad you liked it 😀👍
Sarah did a great job! And she dances better than you!
😂😂😂 Yes!! I knew it 😀 Sarah x
Lovely video as always
What nice finds! Willie, can you tell me what that sort of putty is that you use to repair your stoneware? Thank you. I really enjoy watching your videos.
09:05 Hey!! Where's the dance? Sarah ought to be obliged to do a dance for an awesome find, right? LOL ;)
Ok ok the song and dance 💃 is stuck in my head lmbo thank ya for the smiles 😃 and laughs my friend 😀 😄 😊 😁
Looks like a women’s Art Nouveau belt. But very cute as tree decorations
A further comment, we dug a similar bottle to the third condiment bottle plain it was embossed mustard pickle.
11:10 Oopsie! Spoke too soon! ROFL Thank you very much. :D
Wow Sarah found some STUNNING belters. She deserved a solo performance. The long thin"ish", fancy fluted, ridged bottle was for hair or beauty tonic.
Haha thanks! I can’t quite dig enough in one day to fill a whole episode, but it’s nice to guest star occasionally 😊 Sarah x
Those are glass negatives for photos back in the day if they are not simple window pane.
I though Patterson's from Glasgow made camp coffee?? probably made in the same factory 😂😂 You both did amazing today, deffo found a good spot in that dump 👍
They did. Not sure it’s the same company, but could well be!
Thanks - was a fun dig. Always good when Sarah gets a chance to join me. 😊
P.S. Add Sarah's channel information to the description of the video.
We definitely will do - it’s still in the making at the moment, but hopefully will launch after Christmas…👀
I'd say the Chain is perhaps a ladies belt. But your idea about being part of a lamp is very good. The links cleaned up so lovely and what a neat idea to put them on the tree. Cheers and Happy Holidays from North Carolina, USA!
Thanks! That could be right too - sometime we will never know what things were used for. Good job we like a mystery!
Cheers Sarah! Glad to see you back!
Great to see you Sarah nice finds
Hi Willy and Sarah wow some nice finds.....Your bottle collection must be amazing...
Thanks Lorry! Yes, we have to admit there are a LOT of bottles in our house now…😅
Nice to see you and Sarah digging together. You both found some great things great dig 👍
Thanks Pauline! Other couples go on dates…but we go to a 100 year old rubbish dump in our spare time 😂😊
Well done guys, you both got some belters. Wow your chain turned out beautiful decorations. Take care and stay safe and well. Merry Christmas to you and your family 👍👍👍👏👏👏🥰🥰💖💖🎄🎄🎄⛄️⛄️⛄️🌟🌟🌟
Thank you & Merry Christmas from Team DSOS 😀🎅🎄
You two are so adorable!!!
Congratulations on all of those firsts Sarah! Especially the cream pot beauty! Great dig DSOS!❤️
Thanks Elizabeth 😊 Sarah x
