We just finished installing the new "5.0L "Coyote" engine into a Factory Five '33 Hot Rod. Over the years, we have gone from using 87-93 parts initially to now 87-2004. Right now, you can use at least the engine from the later model Mustangs, BUT, the rest of the parts have not been engineered to work with our Mk4 Roadster. Thanks.

You guys should make the kit up to date so it could use the latest mustangs on the market as donors. Now this one uses donor mustangs up to 2004. Well, 2004 mustangs in salvage auctions usually have a good amount of miles on them.
There are a ton of 2008, 2009, 2010 mustangs in salvage auctions that are practically brand new. You can easily find salvage mustangs that are rear hit, roll overs, etc. So it would be great to use the latest mustangs as donors. Thanks.

For anyone not sporting a bank account rivaling Jay Leno's for a genuine CSX...this is an affordable dream come true! Granted...this car is not for everyone....but for others, quite the opposite. You can build these to your own taste....what more could you ask for?My guess is that most You Tube critics have never had the pleasure of piloting one of these machines. These cars are pure adrenaline and an experience that will be remembered.JMHO

As to brakes and steering, what’s the best way to go manual or power? None of the British cars I had over the years had either.

Not sure you'd want to use the latest transmission in the 2011 Mustangs.

I am going to get one of your car kits, it's only a matter of time. My question is this: I'm 6' 3". Am I going to have trouble actually fitting into a Mk 4? Or in a GTM? I've had problems fitting into small cars in the past...

@roughrider119 They would have to wait until the current generation mustang is replaced with a new generation, plus right now it would be cheaper to buy a complete kit than to use a 2005 up mustang as a donor car. the value of s197 mustangs need to go down a bit more to be considered an affordable donor for the typical buyer.

When will amercans make fuel efficient engines?Just remember biiger is not necessarily better. I would love to see a 3 litre v8 with variable valve timing. Any idea what the mpg of a 5+ litre engine is when pulling a kit car?

@magnum9987 the GTM does use an LS3/LS7... I would take a 302-427 over an LS3/LS7 any day of the week... Shelby put Ford motors in the originals for a reason, he wanted to win.

I am no american but I believe the coyote engine is a pretty decent engine. There must be a reason why most of the better engine use four valves per cylinder instead of two. What you really need is a qucik revving high rpm engine in a kit car.Truck type engines are a no go.

@magnum9987 haha They absolutely can... and for less money at that. And what is this about Ford not being able to build a motor that can beat a Chevy motor? Let's look at the 5.4L DOHC or even the 4.6 DOHC for that matter... both of which are better then any LS motor... Not to mention the new 5.0L Coyote.
