- Today we discuss the End of Fortnite's Build Mode. I want to hear what you guys think, as its a pretty complicated topic. In 5 years, build mode will have a LOT less influence than it does now.

Chapter 1 s3-5 were the golden days in my opinion. You built but you didn't have to get super cracked. That was the after-school casual games that I loved when I used to play. Imagine skipping a season or 2 because you got super busy doing other things. You come back and ur like "this isn't fun".
vous ne jouez pas depuis le premier chapitre parce que og ne dit pas chapitre 1 saison saison 1 dites simplement saison 1
Nah just whole chapter 1 and chapter 2 with midas and everything
Blinded by your nostalgia
As a pro I really think the game is sort of dying but there is still time to save comp and arena and build mode in general
Frrrr
I personally would like to try a no edit mode. Still allowing builds but removing edits would be a good middle ground for people who still like to build, but can’t keep up with the skilled editors
That’s a smart idea
That’s my biggest hurdle with build mode, I am decent with building but as soon as someone edits I give up 😂
That could never work I hope you know that. You clearly didn't think it through when you came up with this "brilliant" idea
@@ryft_za it would work because thats exactly how i play and still got some wins.
@@atomicboyheroi no it wouldn't. Wall taking wouldn't be possible. You would always have to break out of your own box. You might not use the feature that much but other people do and it's necessary for build mode.
I'm in the middle. I'm not great at building and have no time to put into edit courses to become crazy at it. But I also hate zero build because I LIKE being able to throw up a ramp or wall for a bit of protection. Who knows what will happen! But thanks for these videos - I always appreciate your insight.
Try zone wars even if u die u can specatate othrr players and see what theyre doing so then u go jnto creative practice those also u can place a wall in creative and edit slow then get progessiviley faster
same here
My background with games like overwatch, tf2 and some other fps games like COD makes me love zero build, I wasnt so sure about zero build at first because I was so used to building a wall or box myself to heal after a fight. So it was weird at first. But once that background experience kicked in for me I got used to zero build. It might just be a question of if fortnite was your first battle royale game or if you didn't play a lot of fps games before
@@MiasTheGoatFr you don't get it people don't want to do zone wars they play for br and abit of fun going into zone wars is not the answer
@@MiasTheGoatFr nah bro zone wars is full of sweats i tried it once i didnt even get my loadout up they were already building up like 8 phases
I'm a casual player. I've tried to close the skil building gap since I first started in chapter 2 season 2. I understand the problem with new players but the building mechanic is what makes the game special. I think a better algorithm and maybe game modes like easy build, normal or turbo , would help out new players. Taking walls and the low/high ping is another issue.
I’ve literally never built a thing in that game: I just shoot people because I played Apex and know how to win a gun fight
Although I'm a casual player, I still play build mode. Building and 3rd person view is what makes fortnite unique compared to other battle royals. I love the fact that I can build a cover around myself when I'm attacked rather than jumping around trying not to get lazered.
But No build forces you to rely on the “mobility-based items, and also (even more so than build mode) the storm rotation, learning your surroundings, knowing what tree lines to stick behind, and your accuracy plays a much more pivotal role as well because there will be times unfortunately when you’re left in the open and have to rely on you shooting your way out of a bad situation. Each mode definitely has its strategy to it, I hardly ever find myself in a position where I’m going to be completely vulnerable to being shot or ambushed by 3-4 different players/teams, it starts to really help you focus on map knowledge and using your surroundings, checking the kill feed/mini map to watch for stronger opponents and trying to get creative with opportunities to have everyone else play your game instead of walking right into someone else baiting you into playing their game. Just go in with the mindset that you’re gonna own the game, and eventually it’ll show. This season more than ever I feel the confidence level rising, most players I challenge instead of cowering, and mostly come out on top, something about it is new and refreshing.
@@casualgameaholic630 some people just enjoy Fortnite with building bc it just feels more original. I played fortnite since c1 s3 And without build mode I feel like I'm not playing The game I truly liked.
@@_dArKY_-_- oh I agree that it definitely brings out the uniqueness aspect. I’ve been playing since this game came out, founders edition beta edition the works when it was merely STW, so i, like sypher, have seen it grow and develop with my own eyes over these years…and yes the building has been and probably always will be the thing that separates it from the others, but unfortunately now that they have created a mechanism within the building aspect that many/most cannot keep up with unless they spend countless hours on it, it sadly already starts to feel less of the game that we used to love…by their own creation they’ve unfortunately separated the game into many different ways of playing it, all which are ok, but the building mode is now solely belonging to the super sweats who can put in those hours and keep up with the skill gap. Whereas the other players who are just as competitive, are left behind, so all these modes thankfully bring the game back to many different types of players. I’m just glad there’s multiple ways to enjoy the game now with the directions they’re heading
Same, if I wanted to play a shooter-mobility game, I'd play another game, building is what makes Fortnite unique
Lol all I’m sayin is good luck keeping up with the skill gap with these other 12 year old kids out here who’s parents are letting them stay home from school and hiring coaches because they think they’re gonna win some fortnite cash cups and bring their family some fame. At least without the building aspect the other talented players who can focus on rotations and their shooting abilities can stand a chance. Just got a nice solo win, if this same win I just got was in build mode, the player would have more than likely built a massive base in 3 seconds and exhausted all of the fun out of the match by just cowering behind the turbo builds. Lol. I love building as well, but sometimes it’s just nice to get in and get the elims without having to go through a 20 min build fight just to get mopped by the next team because you ran all your mats dry with the previous fight. They just let it get a little bit too far. Again I love the build aspect, I can definitely hold my own, but it just gets exhausting and by mid match I’m finding myself bored of it ready to swap. Idk maybe that’s just me 🤷🏻♂️
This is a great take, especially about builds. I also feel like build mode needs to be revamped for the sake of it being revived as a whole playlist. Too many players are discouraged by the fact that when they hop into build mode, all they'll be fighting are a bunch of sweats, whereas opposed to no-build it's a more casual experience. Change can be good and I do believe it needs to happen to make the entirety of Fortnite fun for everyone, with every game mode.
They really don't need to. Build mode has an audience already, they don't need to revamp it for the sake of attracting players who don't even like it for what it is.
@@anonymous19548 It doesn't NEED a revamp necessarily, but it would still be a good idea. Just think about how many players have left build mode for no-builds strictly because of how sweaty every one was in said builds.
This is just my opinion, but I end up finding more sweats is zero build then in build because all the sweats want to get easy wins by taking out all the new players. I personally stick to build mode for that reason alone.
just get better lmao and stop playing shitty zero build where u cant get better
@@Penguin-ns8nq that makes literally no sense

I really like the idea of making builds rechargeable. For example you start with 20 charges, which means you can put 20 building peaces however you want, but every building peace will recharge in 2 seconds. That means if you waste all your buildings you won’t be able to spam it anymore. However i feel like buildings themselves should be stronger.
This change will allow to do a short push pr build a fort or something like that, basically change the playstyle idk
This would be perfect imo. Would still allow you to push other players but you wouldn't be able to full tarp across the entire map and quad edit on someone like some of the sweats do nowadays. Would make building much more tactical.
Nah building ist the best thing in this game
@@ericjager824 I agree, building is what makes Fortnite Fortnite. But now it feels like it became exclusive only for sweats, which are the minority of player base, and therefore the community is divided really badly and this division will "kill" the game eventually. I’m not saying that they should completely change building forever no, they just need to make another standard game mode (like no build) with the newly implemented build system and overtime make it the new competitive standard while keeping the old build mode so everyone would be satisfied. I know it may sound biased coming from me, but lets face the truth, for the better of the game changes in building need to be done.
Gosh I’m such a 🤓 writing this paragraph lmao
@@MvFreeze bro but the thing is that would be good for casual but for comp that would be horrible
@@driply7499 I think it would be a good additional game mode “Tactical Building” or something of the sorts. I just swear half the “comp players” these days are just glorified spam builders anyways, and obviously not the pros, but a good portion of arena players these days just overbuild because they know they’r probably going to die anyways in the actual gunfight and they try and just waste all their builds beforehand. I’m at 17.3K arena points and I don’t build like that. I just have better aim than most and I play smart. You don’t need to spam builds to get kills or win games and I don’t think it was ever Epic’s intention that building would get this ridiculously sweaty. If you had less builds per second it would make you play smarter with your Mats and not just spam build in every direction the second you get shot. They’d have to either give the builds like max hp on placement or make them gain HP much faster for this to be viable though since you’d still have the chrome AR/SMG spammers.

I hope Build mode will stay, because it was kinda the thing, that made Fortnite back then so much more different than other battle royales.
I think some changes would be cool but I gotta disagree that build mode will go anywhere. If anything the BR itself will die out a lot and it will be more creative stuff
Honestly, the big things driving me away is the inundation of so much junk and the massive skill gap. I just wish it was like how it used to be.
Well, nothing has changed within the past three years. Sweats *DISCOVERED* those mechanics
Play no build
@@K008gr Yeah there is a lot that changed lmao. Yeah sweats learned stuff but it’s still a completely different game than early c1
This was a thoughtful, well-made video. I like the idea of having builds start with more HP and that number decreasing with quantity of builds. And I agree this is a tough problem to solve. As a casual on Switch, I play No Build and get around 5-15 elims a match with the occasional Vic Roy. I’ve only ever loaded into Build mode by accident, where I won twice by sheer luck and defensive playing. I tried the original Fortnite when it first came out and exactly as you say, the learning curve was too steep for me with building. No Builds made me come back to the game and now I play every few days. I also don’t want to see Build mode disappear.
Build mode wont go, the game is literally called fort-nite☠️
that's so relatable I play on switch and I always try to play builf mode but always get rekt but I don't want it to go
I honestly think chapter 2 season 2 was the best for both comp and casual. Yes, the mythic weapons were kinda OP but weren't "game breaking" and it was a ton of fun when you actually got it, now its just boring to get any mythics and all the weapons are a little TOO balanced (excluding the evochrome AR lol)
fr man it was the best season.

I feel like people don’t appreciate this game because I used to be a sweat but I fell off completely but I always come back and regain my muscle memory in creative or a competitive map so once I’m ready, I’m prepared to play again.❤
The half of the community is more spoiled and rotten as ever been.
I will never stop playing build mode regardless of what they do. It's just better for me, sure, I'm not great at it, but it keeps me in the game longer, which in turn makes it more fun. Every time I'm ik Zero build I get taken out instantly, and it's not fun. Or someone shoots across the map and I try to build, getting killed in the process with no direction in which to try and aim. I will take sweats building crazy structures over bush campers that you can't see any day.

Its very satisfying to edit and edit-kill or box-kill somebody. That satisfaction is less in zero build. I dont want the community to only play zero builds. Its a good topic of discussion. I agree that build mode is intimidating, especially Arena for new players (like myself). But to me, build mode is still the preferred choice. Improving a little bit every day makes Fortnite fun for me at the end of the day. Good suggestions though, Sypher

There should be a low buld mode where you can only hold 30-50 of all mats at once so there no buld fights but you can still take cover when you’re in the middle of the open
but there js no point in that because people can still spam there weapons like an AR or smth like
At that point just play nobuild
I literally made that ltm in creative
There was and it was an LTM called ground war
Like the OG ground fight mode
The easiest way to get rid of this problem is for Epic to limit how much mats you can carry. The less mats, the less you use. And if any sweats are in your game, they will probably run out of mats right in the middle of a build fight.
Good Idea
This doesn’t solve the problem at all. Arena already does this (500 of each Mat), but the bigger issue is the fact that when you are in a fight being spammed, the guns in the current meta go right through the walls which encourages spam building/overbuilding to not take damage when you’re being sprayed. If builds had more hp when placed, that would help counter gun spamming which would reduce build spamming. I still do think there should be reduced materials in pubs too, if it had the same farming rate and max materials as arenas, it would be perfect. But gotta increase build HP. Especially when there’s crap like a goo gun in pubs lmao that thing is whack.
@@MvFreeze oh
@@MvFreeze So you did end up agreeing with me saying that they should reduce materials. Don't say it doesn't solve the problem at all if you end up agreeing with it at the end.
@@lalalandboom223 well a solution of just reducing the builds would not help the issue, hence why I said it didn’t solve the problem. That’s also why I added on with suggestions of increasing initial build HP and increasing the farming multiplier to that of arena. You were on the right track but if they were to just drop the total material count, people would just spray you like crazy until you ran out. This is already a common thing in arenas with the chrome AR. If a full Trio has chrome bursts, they’ll just target one player and spray until he runs out of mats. That’s why the game is so toxic and unplayable currently, the spray weapons force players to overbuild to avoid incoming damage, and then they run out of materials by end game or lose their current fight because they don’t have the builds to build fight the players that just sprayed through all of their mats… If you’re talking about pub game modes, I also think bringing back a 25hp/30wood/brick/metal siphon would help for early game no-shield fights and end game storm fighting.
This video says a lot about how Sypher thinks in regard to business opportunities and tactics. He's already proved he is fantastic at building a community and a network of income streams, aside from that he has some serious marketing skills. Keep it up man 👍🏽
No he he is getting paid and bribed by epic ever Spence the iconic skin .he is nit genuine person as he used to be criticizing epic on chapter 2
@@101theobserver Did you watch the video? This video is literally him criticizing Epic. I don't see your point.
I remember when I first started playing Fortnite, building was literally the coolest thing I had ever see in Fortnite back in 2018 and some of the reasons why I started playing. It was hard to build at first too lmao, I would die a lot but those were fun times and I hope we get to relive those moments again.
At the start of this season me and the final 3 were playing with a beachball
C3 c2 start we were all in the same tank
C2 s8 party with 3 people
I've had a lots of funny moments
I think a mode with just 100 materials max should be considered. You keep the originally intended mechanics of building a fort in you get caught out in the open or to get that slight advantage in a fight but you totally remove all the crazy build fights. Removing the experience of building isn't quite nice if you played from the early days, but also being 'outbuilt' by someone isn't. So maybe a low material-capped mode could be considered
So if im 1hp and someone starts spraying with an smg i'll just die
@@Kne8493so when you play other kinds of BR games you still have the building option?
@@AmitSharma-es2eb other br games maps are designed to have many walls and rocks to cover
@@Kne8493 there’s this mode called “zero build” 😊
@@Kne8493 fr, it doesnt make any sense
The only way they could save build mode is if they add a 5 second delay on editing or just remove editing completely and then limit the amount of materials you can hold like the ground game LTM where you get just enough materials to be able to defend yourself when needed
Also make the builds stronger. Otherwise people will just spam their SMG at your builds til you’re out of material.
The edit idea is great. Like you can't edit a build that hasn't completed building, and obviously when you edit it restarts the build. That means you could edit wood faster than brick or metal, but obviously you're building with a weaker material as the down side.
Man really need to make penalize good player
Fortnite build mode is everything I ever wanted a game to be ever since I started back in Ch1 S2. A game where the better player is 90% set to win. Because to be honest no matter how mad I get if a sweaty player kills me, in the end of the day I still get more mad if I see a bad player kill someone out of luck. It is fair and should remain like this. I only ever played on weekends and holidays, but I still managed to keep up
You can try to find a mid point between zero build and building mode.. For instance, building without editing (or limited edit) and turbo build. In that way it will feels more like in the beginning. More fun and casual. And building will be used as an strategic tool, not like a slide cancel overpowered advantage (just like COD) if you mastered.
They should keep building as it is and remove zero build and replace it with ground game. Also something isnt overpowered when its the main mechanic of a game.

for the casual build modes, there should be a cooldown on editing builds. Once you edit a wall you cannot edit any structures again until the cooldown is done. Another thing would probably be to reduce the building speed. That’s just my thoughts tho.

Building will never get taken out. They will lose way too many current/active players.
I've been playing since the end of Ch 1 Season 5 and everything is different which is to be expected. BUT the reason building is ruined in my opinion is partly because of those players who are toxic about their ability when they come across someone who obviously cannot build like them. I know building had an important place in the heart of the game, but there is such a things as to much of a good thing. There needs to be a balance between the 2 play styles and being able to build skyscrapers in a second, using presets or speed building is a problem. I would like to see something like the more mats carried slows the build process down kind of like jump fatigue. Right now it just simply the speed of building that keeps me away from that mode altogether. I would also LOVE to see arena and competitive played the same as WE ALL play. Box fits create a HUGE disconnect and divide between us. It just comes across as a group of try hards and show offs (NOT ALL BUILDERS) rather than people who play the game they love. Maybe back to basics, so to speak, would be a good thing in this case.
I’m actually excited for fortnite’s future and it sets my mind with ease.
The thing about zero build is that it is practically just another battle royale, but goofier. I like that mode, but it does take the "Fort" out of Fortnite. The building mechanic is amazing, but difficult for casual players to fully grasp. I myself can't do all the fancy highground retakes and editing techqniques.
I love this game. It's unique. It can be an incredibly fun game. Epic Game needs to make sure they make a game that lasts.
I agree with sypherpk but I also think that they should do some serious skill base match making, like using the score system that it showily when you die like you hit shot accuracy ,how many kills you get per game, or how much damage you usually take per game, ect
I used to hop on Fortnite around the chapter 1 Era… because of how people play with builds, I lost ineterest… I couldn’t enjoy it. Then around the end of that same chapter going to chapter 2, I came back with a friend who could build a bit and he thought me enough I started to learn… but then I started taking things too seriously and it was just stressing me out that I cared so much for the mechanic… I like building, but I wish it was simpler and just to create ocasional cover or build tiny forts… so I hoped off again for quite a while… came back and stayed because of Zero build.. can’t complain about the skill gap anymore and I can finally enjoy the matches even if I lose… its fun again for casual players such as myself… but I also don’t want to see build mode go
You make a great point here. As a “sweat builder” myself, I can understand why people would dislike excessive building in casual matches, but it doesn’t make sense when they apply the same logic to competitive and creative. There really is a disconnect between the casual and competitive community, resulting in them having vendettas for each other.
Thanks for the videos Sypher! You deserve everything!

8:36 that’s what happened to me, but I learned how to build again, I think zero build is stupid and it should be removed
Idea: Make a build mode except the amount of materials are extremely low and difficult to farm up. Say 80 mats per material type while mats are very scarce with a reduced farming rate. This would greatly encourage being resourceful and would still allow for skillfull building like peice-control and box fighting but would also pervent stuff like quadruple editing into a clip or 90'ing into the skybox. To prevent spam firing the buildings would have alot more health ( Like 2x or more the current health). I think it would definitely be difficult for pro players to get used to but it would be great for the game imo.
I don’t play this game anymore but I still enjoy watching Fortnite content from Nick Eh 30 and You Sypher! You two display such joy and passion into this game and I appreciate that from you guys! May God Bless you guys!!!! 🙏🏼💯❤️
As someone that actually bought Fortnite pre br mode and played from start of the prime and end of the prime of br. What made me stop was when they added the matchmaking and kept avoiding the skill gap like taking the double pump and nerfing shotguns, forcing you to constantly sweat with the matchmaking all the bs over the top kiddy shit ect. Cod has had a frustrating skill based match making issue for awhile too, that mixture of good and bad players in lobby’s is what makes games fun and you can have nights where you chill and play and then go on your try hard runs when you want.
I really like your build hp suggestion as a great start to fixing these issues. As far as I'm concerned FortNite *is* building. It's one of the main things that keeps me playing it as someone who has never liked shooters before this one. I don't touch Zero Build because it's just not the game I like, and I get stomped way harder in that mode. I really hope that Epic figures out this issue.
@Bzake i personally like zero build its mostly more about your reaction time to campers and there are less sweats
For me I felt No Build Mode rewarded my aim a lot better than Build Mode ever did. I was never good at building but I was a pretty good shot. The moment I cracked a shield in Build Mode I'd always have to deal with someone who could speed build in full panic mode and then have them jump over me and shoot me. Started to really kill the fun for me and made me feel like I got punished because I couldn't out build.
That’s how the game always will be you will have to learn all aspects of the game to be good at it and don’t complain thst ppl are better than you because they put more time If you truly enjoy the game you will grind and try your hardest to improve and learn to build and edit like i did and I switched from console to pc and I learned everything in about 1-2 months

This video is so well made, its perfect. Fortnite will always have a place in my heart love you all in the fortnite community, from a top 10 player in season 7 and top 8 in season 5.
I'm a new player (started a few months ago) and you're spot on. I went straight to zero build and stayed there.
My idea would be to have the building system tied to the stamina bar, so every time you build it takes x amount of your stamina. With this spamming builds would be impossible and when someone is in a box with no stamina you can take their wall. Idk how good this system would be but you know its just an idea.
Yeah take 4 or 2% of your bar every piece you place
I feel bad for you a bot copy pasted ur comment and got 60 likes
I always have high hopes for fortnite and i hope the current situation gets better and i really wish the building mechanics becomes more beginner friendly and the skill gap gets less wide and i hope epic will find a way to make the competitive players and casual players both happy
Once again PK shows Epic needs to hire him and listen to these ideas. I am a very casual player and I love playing both builds and no builds. I don’t want this game to ever die.
I'm one of those people who played Fortnite 24/7 through the OG Seasons 1-5... then did the early competitive in 7, 8 and 9.. I mainly stepped away because my OG account disappeared and lost all of my skins. However, now that I try to come back, I'm just not at the level I was back then, nor even close to the level of modern day players to compete. Zero build was fun for a few weeks but just feels like every other BR game so.. Staying on Dead By Daylight~
I think it is time to have the build delay that we saw back in Chapter 1 that only lasted a day, come back in casual games but not competitive playlists. The build delay will cause spam builds to slow down and you will still be able to have cover. It will slow down the way people crank 90’s as well so we don’t have a skyline of builds.
If they add a build delay I would love to come back to build playlists because I can’t deal with the sweat who builds skyscrapers and does triple edits on his pc while I am on a PS5. I don’t like how a PC player can get into console lobbies and have all the advantages of using keyboard and mouse while I’m using 2 sticks to move
Thanks for your Feedback, You've been selected amongst my shortlisted winners message the above We have a surprise package for you 🎁🎁
This doesn’t work, if you played during that time u would know keyboard players decided to turn enough turbo build and use scroll wheel to place builds so they weren’t affected at all. And ppl will eventually end up using macros and it wouldn’t be detected tbh. It’s a good take but yk ppl will always find a loop hole
@@keithfeliciano this argument is flawed, the number 2 player in fortnite arena right now plays on controller so it’s not necessarily a thing of pc players having the advantage, controller players just like to use that as an excuse. I’ve had both a console and pc and both have advantages and disadvantages.
Also a keyboard and mouse is not solely available for the pc it’s just as easy to use a kb&m on console as it is pc.
build mode is still better imo, half the pois / guns in the game fit build mode better then zero build
the wall replace mechanic I agree with but that's hard to implement because of ping the builds losing health over time would ruin the game and make spamming ars or smgs a huge problem
Then build less

As an extremely passive, casual, player since save the world, I really stopped enjoying fortnite when I couldn't take a single shot at a someone without an 8th grader shitting out an entire apartment complex in 3 seconds.
No Builds is fun but I think fortnite needs to keep building, just maybe make a limit
You are completely right build mode was never fun for me and it just ruined the feel of gameplay for me, now that Zero build came out I haven't touched build mode once, even watching content i don't want anything to do with builds lmao it was always so lame
This makes me feel better, zero build is where the real skill comes into play
I dont think that with reducing the healt of the players as they are cracking would be a great idea cause that forces them to stop doing what they spent time to get good at.I think that the best senario would be if we had less materials, like 250 of each. They would still crack but that would last for much
I wish they could just make a chapter 1 mode
started playing in og season 1 til season 6 i think? i was just bored by the game and i was kind of doing other things, 2 years ago i tried to come back, but i was so overwhelmed by building, it was just broken for me. tried fortnite again couple months ago and discovered no build mode, which is so great, it awaken the passion i had for this game back in 2017. i see no reason to play build mode now.
I enjoy playing builds cause that’s what made it stand out from the rest
Finally somebody with a brain
Basically all of my friends have left the game, but I hope this happens and possibly brings them back. The skill gap has gotten so bad to the point my friends don’t even want to play a private gun game map in creative.
I like the idea of the strategies and building ramps and 90s are. Those skills while I haven't mastered either. Don't seem to hard. Wall wall ramp jump turn etc. Or floor wall ramp when taking height while pushing. But the edit cycling is the real issue. Edits are to make builds that can be advantous in certain scenarios. Like doors, windows and shaped walls.
Change max allowed build to 0.125 sec / piece and remove turbo building. Edits can only be done after the building has finished construction (When it gets to the full HP). After the first edit, you are able to make another edit in 1.25 seconds.
Also revert the game to Chapter 1
I wish there was a legacy match option where I could catch up on all the story I missed as a new player.
i think one of the change has to be that we can edit other players builds too it might turn out good who knows
That sounds kinda annoying ain't gonna lie it's good idea but it would make all the sweats cry like when a decent smg is in the game
@@Joe-yr3wx ig you are right
After playing from chapter2 I can say building wasn’t hard to do but it’s the ping advantage that controlled the game. If fortnite adds first person or ragdoll physics that would be mad fun, imagine hitting somebody in the head for max damage with a shotgun and their body goes flying, would definitely fall in love with the game
i think the turbo build mechanic should be increased from 0.05sec to 0.15sec in casual modes. makes it easier for worse players to compete with the good ones. this'll keep the competitive community happy because the comp modes will have the same turbo building. I remember when they made this change back in szn 7 chapter 1 and it was game changing
Bro they already prefire when there is 0.05 secs imagine what would happen at 0.15
Also how are u supposed to stop the spam guns and goo guns now?
I’d kill to experience fortnite seasons 1-9 again man
don't we all, i miss the old times
i really agree with the builds having less health as you place them faster. its just so smart epic need to ad it
The best way to make this game optimal for both regular players and pros is to update skill base matchmaking based on win rate per season. So if your KD increases as the season progresses then your lobbies will get harder. If your KD stays about the same then your lobbies will be easier. That’s as simple and as easy as it can be explained by me.
This makes a lot of sense I joined fortnite a couple seasons ago and I've hardly touched build mode. Like you said it's just really intimidating and time-consuming to get good enough to be able to compete with the builders who have been building for years
Seems like the easiest fix is just to drastically limit the amount of materials you can carry at once. That way you can build cover for a fight or two, but most of the insanity goes away. I loved build mode, but once they introduced no build it just became too sweaty for me. All the average skill (like me) players left for no build.
Totally agree. I think players should be allowed to build 2-3 boxes instead of a hotel
I could get behind this
That's not a good idea either, it only favors casual players and not the ones who are good at the game. The idea of making builds weaker if you're faster is a better idea though, favors casual players by penalizing fast building, and favors good players by letting them keep their turbo building. Maybe a decent idea is to slow down how fast a wall builds if you're turbo building
@@menace_1546 Build mode is dying because casual players can't even pretend to compete even in their so called lower tier lobbies. If they want it to survive they need to make drastic changes for casuals, or no build will soon be the only option.
i 100% agree that if epic game does not do anything with the build mode it will die down and be forgotten. great video as always :)
If your watching this in 2030💀
Great content keep it up we appreciate all your hard work
I exclusively play solo build mode, and there is a lot less building going on, and you don't see so many players insanely good at building. That seemed to start once zero build mode was a thing. Kind of the opposite to what you'd expect, but that's what I'm seeing.
ist just cod plays that are new and play zero buil and people who are new and who play zero build are people never played fortnite because they never liked building
Sypher just letting you know you are one of the best streamer ever so inspirational 🎉
Maybe implement building stamina? Building cooldowns that get longer and longer depending on how much you build at once
That’s actually smart either they could do that or like limit building in regular games but in arena you can build like sweats
Right, or another idea, they start the match with a SET build amount that cannot be added to.
This was absolutely amazing to watch.

AMAZING VIDEO PK. Highest Quality as always. I've been playing Fortnite since it came out and I only play Zero Builds because build mode is not fun., its not exciting and too predictable. A change in build mode needs to happen in the next year or its bad news for it.

Good watch. Curious to see what's next from the Epic team after this theory starts to become a reality.
I think turbo building should work like the tactical sprint, as the bar runs out your character starts slowing down and starts sweating and panting to where you can’t turbo build again until it recharges. This would also pay homage to the name “sweats”.
what if u are getting spammed by a sweat team tho
@@SlayaSlaya tactical sprint and find cover😂 therefore you’d need to be skilled in builds and no build when need be. It would also call for good team communication like if your character starts sweating you tell your teammate you’re running out of energy or something
Keep up the grind my guy

I feel like the building game is too sweaty, so people are playing zero build much more. The community isn’t playing builds anymore, including RUclipsrs, which is leading the game mode to it’s downfall
Not our fault players like you suck ass at the game
just get good
Im never quiting build mode!!!
I personally don’t think build mode will actually die, changes should be made but I know a lot of new players who go to build mode first because that’s the big thing that made Fortnite different from the other things. All Epic has to do is make their matchmaking system more skill based so that new players will get put with new players or players who are not new but not familiar with the building and as you play you improve and thus get put in games with people of a similar skill level. I myself don’t like build mode as much because I suck at building but I can still have a fair chance against most of the players in the lobby I’m in. A better skill based matchmaking would also help zero build players like myself. Building won’t die out if Epic fix’s it soon but they don’t need to rush to fix it either.
Yeah. The match making is the problem.
I can win matches in Zero build. Ususally top five consistently if I’m focusing.
But for some reason in the building games I don’t even stand a chance. The matchmaking puts me with players who are way out of my league
I don't think the sweats ruined the game. Cause they learn the game and get better. The people who say that are just taking the game really seriously and not focusing on the game itself. My point here is that they just like to have fun, then a good player comes across. Immediately they "give up" and start mocking the game and saying the sweats ruined it. even though they would have a chance to win but they never focus on it... But i love the way you explained all this, and i just hope the build mode won't die.
if we stayed in chapter one and played the way we played back then, the game would die. the people who say that they don’t play the game anymore because it changed, well guess what, you would still leave the game because nothing would change
Change is not always for the better.
For a while I've been saying that I don't think the game will die, especially cuz there's now two modes you can play with. build and Zero Build, but you would think that the new players would play Zero Build and the old players would stick with Build, but I started in Chapter 1, Season 5 and even to this day I'm still slightly intimidated by Build Mode. It's probably because I just like to play casually and never really put in the time to get good at building, but I definitely have to admit that if I ever need to do a solo challenge, I usually hop on Zero Build cuz it is less sweaty. Heck, I think I sometimes win most of the time if I'm not messing around. Like, I'll go into a solo match thinking; "Hey, let me just get this solo challenge done" and then end up winning the match! I personally think the game will still keep going and really, it's up to the players if you want to keep playing or not, but I guess the things you brought up are stuff they can improve on, if they hope to still keep a bigger player base in the future. 🎮
Same man, im just tryna get challenges done and win the game in the process

I played this game for years as a casual player, I enjoyed learning to build and be somewhat good enough to do 90s and basic edits. Also playing on 200ping, it was fun, but building mode is so bad now, everyone else is just way to good. I wish they could give us an over 30 or or 35 mode
This is why I've always spent most of my time in Team Rumble, there's sweaties, there's building, but there are so many players on each team that overly defensive turtling and prolonged 1v1 build battles are nearly impossible.
DAMMM why did all the good times have to go away, i remember towards the ending of 2017 when I played my first fortnite game. It was perfect everything down to the music all the way to the game itself, it brings back good memories. I got so addicted to it, there was so much hype about it; Mann i miss those days 🥺😥😓😭.
Sad that sypher does not mention the role of editing. the majority of the player base was slowly starting to pick up and improve their building skills. it really wasnt to problem to get used to ramprush, fight for highground or chill in a fort. what killed build mode for the most player was editing. editing was and is the issue. maybe only a certain amount of editing in a timespan? Maybe only one edit per minute? Maybe removing editing alltogether? I just know most of the players I know lost interest because of editing.
To Epic: Delete Editing on Release, no turbo building, add sypher’s health system, and make maybe some techniques impossible to do.
My opinion is if we want to keep it like it it is they need two separate teams for comp and casual and we need more surveys for weapons
