My God , I see my cousin on that Hill Top Landing Zone. I see the Mountains he talked about shells coming from all day everyday for most or all of 2 tours. TONS of Ammo and Barrels of agent orange can been see in the background of these photos at L.Z. " DAVID CAUPP " my very YOUNG first cousin, is the guy in the center with his hand in his pocket. Daily fire from those hills and valleys, months on end. Millions of shells inbound and outbound..., Likewise 100s of thousands of barrels of the AGENT ORANGE. These Great Men fought fire fights in the middle of a beer break, and special times 24/7. GOD BLESS them, now I must cry. I was in the Middle East , bay of Libya, Black Sea, Beirut, sunny South of France and all such places, while David sweated it out there. My ship took a shell off the north shore of Vietnam destroying the Aft Gun Mount about the time that beer break was going down.......... HEY CUZ..., you better run through the jungle, the devils on the loose

Listening to these songs remind me of the most requested music for the Vietnam War on WING-Dayton. I listened to it every night. That’s the music my parents raised me with.
Hey, I used to listen to WING as well !! That is until my "departure" to foreign lands courtesy of the Navy. (BTW - we lived in Xenia. I guess they had a tornado while I was away, apparently devastated the town, so I never went back. My curiosity got to me about 15 years later. I went back but, it was too different from what I remembered, so no reason to hang around.)
@@bnewman43 my family moved out in 71. I used to think we’d live there forever and I ended up hating Dayton.it’s now a slum city thanks to corporate slumlords. When the pimps, whores, etc began to move in the neighborhood, my father found an out of state job. Life is much better here although there are no shortages of redneck hicks in the flatlands of Illinois. I remember the Xenia tornado. My relatives from Ky came up for Easter and they lost everything they owned. One of my cousins who lost everything on April 4, 1974, lost her life in a Georgia tornado 40 years later to the day when a tornado blew a semi over the car my relatives were riding in. My uncle and and another cousin were nearly killed and the passenger had minor injuries. The Fajita Scale was created in Brandenburg,Ky after April 4 which was founded by my ancestor Mathias Brandenburg and son. I’m now an advanced storm spotter after being caught in one with no warnings from the NOAA radio or weather channel.

I was in the USAF during Vietnam Nam but wasn't allowed to go.since I was the only son. I felt the duty to go. Excellent play list. Yes, we listened to this music stateside.
my dads a Vietnam veteran and he used to listin to this music all the time in the 76s when the war was coming to an end and thats how i got hooked to this genre of music. and thank you to the vets that served in the war

i am 16 (current date/CD - 02/08/2023) i work with the RAF and it the best decision i ever made in my life. i see people in the comments wishing they were at war. half of my family (all male side) have been in the services ranging all the way from basic front line infantry to marines and 1 SBS member. none of them were the same because of what they saw, asking to be in war is something everybody does before entering and regretting, i never want war but if i have to fight then i will. please, stop thinking war is cool, its not. its traumatic and destructive, no matter the side you are on

When the NVA shelled this ( vtol ) HILL TOP AIR Base from Caves up to 25 miles away, and Cliff Ledges hidden the in dense jungle..., Hard to hit Targets got hit one way or another... some by F 4 Phantom
