Island Gardskagaviti und Sandgerdi
Die Fahrt beginnt in Reykjanesbaer Gedenkpark und führt entlang des Meeres zum alten Leuchtturm von Gardskagaviti. Weiter erreicht man nach wenigen Kilometern die kleine Ortschaft Sandgerdi mit ihrem kleinen Hafen.
Am Gedenkpark in Reykjanesbaer stehen zwei Skulpturen, die Ankerskulptur und die Statue von Mann und Frau. Man folgt der Aegisgata bis zum Kreisverkehr und biegt dort an der zweiten Ausfahrt auf die Vesturbraut und folgt dieser bis zur Hringbraut. Dann geradeaus bis zum nächsten Kreisverkehr und die erste Ausfahrt rechts auf die Straße 45. Dieser folgen bis in Gardur die Straße 402 halbrechts abbiegt. Danach immer der 402 folgen bis zum alten Leuchtturm.
Der alte Leuchtturm ist nicht mehr in Betrieb, aber der Ausblick über die Bucht ist fantastisch. Für Naturliebhaber ein herrlicher Ort. Mit Glück kann man vom Parkplatz aus in einer klaren Nacht die Nordlichter sehen. Um nach Sandgerdi zu kommen fährt man ein Stück zurück, bis die 402 nach rechts abzweigt. Auf der 402 bleiben, bis sie in die 45 mündet. Die Straße nach Sandgerdi geht entlang der Küste, immer mit Blick auf das Meer. Immer wieder sind Fischerboote zu sehen.

The old lighthouse is no longer in operation, but the view over the bay is fantastic. A wonderful place for nature lovers. With luck, you can see the Northern Lights from the parking lot on a clear night. To get to Sandgerdi, drive back a little until the 402 branches off to the right. Stay on 402 until it joins 45. The road to Sandgerdi goes along the coast, always facing the sea. Fishing boats can be seen again and again.
