So when Allah asks you why you facilitate an event that you full well knew haram would occur, what you going to say get the hell out of here.. You really think zina will be overlooked in an event because most of it was Islamic, so just ignore the haram parts?? Unbelievable

    And found goodness in everyone
    I gazed longingly

I began to gaze at the blessings I possessed

    And became haughty
    I greeted the people first
    And became humble
I expected people to forgive me

    I began to forgive people

    I thought others blameworthy
    And my ego inflated
    I believed myself blameworthy
    And my conscious responded
I watched those who strived for the world
    And became complacent
I watched those who sacrificed for deen
    And became productive
I looked towards the worldly folk to emulate
    And lost myself

It’s so weird because I went to the same event on the 27th ~ light upon light and I didn’t see major free mixing. I did see a lot of families there and a few of my friends came with their husbands, but if there was free mixing than maybe I was blind to it. Anyways, as Ali said, I think people need to stop being the piety police, because we were once far from Allah and than He Guide us. Every single person that attended that event Allah chose us to be there and witness everyone come together on one of the last days of Ramadan. How beautiful was that! Rather than pointing out the flaws let’s be grateful and look at the blessings of what Allah & Islam has done for us! In most Western countries to gather a large crowd 15,000 people would usually be for a music festivals. But Allah has blessed us and gathered us as one ummah to worship Him Alone on one of the blessed nights! Glory Be on to Allah, All Praises Belong to Him. Be grateful and pray for others!

One molana in my local area said that we don’t want attend a bayaan in our local masjid but we would rather listen to a bayaan on RUclips or travelling 100s of miles for Islamic events bayaans. And he was exactly right because its happening. This is the situation. He also said we should ask our local alim and local mufti but unfortunately we don’t want to ask. He also mentioned we would ask a famous mufti or scholar any questions but we can’t ask our local imam and alim. He also also said that our masjid is empty and hardly anyone attends the masjid and said those people who don’t come to the masjids are travelling 100s of miles away to attend an Islamic event to listen to a famous mufti lecture. Again he said this is our situation. For ladies, he mentioned we have so many alimahs and apas but unfortunately our women folk are not approaching them and don’t want to ask them. This is exactly happening in the uk. Other western countries, I don’t know because i can’t speak about them. But this is 100% happening in the uk as the molana said. I see this all the time, young, uneducated muslims always misunderstanding the verse enjoin the good and forbid the evil. These ignorants will point fingers at others, call out scholars, bash and badmouth others on RUclips, call people deviants, and justify this under “oh, I’m only advising-I’m enjoining the good and forbidding the evil”!
This is not backbiting, this is enjoining the good and forbidding. Absolutely disgusting.
      Don’t be among them.
You don’t even remotely understand what the verse means.
And before you go around “enjoining the good”, how pleased do you think Allah is with you. Spend 2 years studying, and then, for every advise you give to others, you fix 3 bad habits, you become friends with the person you are advising, you do things for them, you pray with them in the mosque, and THEN you have the right to advise them. Then you will know what that verse means.

What would ALLAH Azawajal be most pleased with ? No doubt following the Sunnah
And therefore the event should have been total separation
This is nothing to do with looking down on people subhanAllah

There are many unforeseen things that can happen at an event that we’re out of the hands of mufti. Two, clearly one of the main point of the video is that are shouldn’t have to jump to bad judgement and such conclusions so quickly. Ali clearly has a lot of reverence and respect to Mufti so he is speaking on the situation respectfully and with compassion. Ali dawah like every human is evolving, so comparing his older videos does no service to the video we have at hand. Some of these comments are just disappointing at this point. It is important to allow the Muslims to forbid evil and encourage the good...allow them speak out on events that are done for the sake of Allah, but require advising on matters that is more pleasing to Shaytan.
They shouldn't be bashed for piety or that they should do this event themselves. Since that is irrelevant.
No doubt there is goodness in events like this too and that should be encouraged but when there is wrong that should be discouraged and improvements should be made to avoid next time.
Otherwise what we are opening to is events where wrong is clearly happening like free-mixing or even Music.
If events are unable to handle the free mixing then they should make it very clear before the event eince some Muslims do not even attend these events and hence their level of emaan should be respected and not bashed for being too pious.
Not good for Muslims to assume before hand that there is no free mixing but then they go to event and its the opposite.
Support one another in goodness and avoid one another in harm.

@@somethingelse4916 I agree, the level of clarification was not up the standard.
I get brother Ali's point of not only looking at the negatives but there are lots of factors to be considered, the level of masla7a and mafsada should always be weighed in, you could have a very tight battle between those two. I feel like more was needed to be addressed.
There are ahadith on these topics for women who would like to go to mosques to pray, and the hadith states and I will paraphrase or translate to the best of my ability so please correct me if I make a mistake, that a woman wanting to go pray should seek her husband's permission (بعلها) or in the case she's not married her father or brother I am assuming, and the man should not prevent her. Unfortunately this hadith can easily be taken out of context because so many women take this as a carte blanche to go to the mosque but they don't see how a woman still needs to seek the permission of a husband regardless, this may be something that puts difficulty on a man because of his gheerah (الغيرة) towards his womenfolk and I believe Omar ibn alkhattab was asked about how did he allow his wife to go despite him not being completely satisfied with it but having the second part of the hadith that he should not prevent her if she seeks the permission and takes into account the man's gheerah over her that she basically sticks to the "rules of engagement" for lack of a better term and that is to make sure she doesn't wear eye-catching clothing, loose clothing, not too colourful or attractive to the public, in addition to not putting on perfume and trying her best to avoid coming to the close proximity of other men after she wants to leave the mosque or musala, so alhaya2 is important and taking precautions to avoid those from the men who will not lower their gaze despite this woman's chastity and efforts. That coupled with a few other hadiths on how the best of the lines for a woman is that of the last rows and the worst of them for her would be the first ones.
Despite all of this, another hadith states that a woman's prayer in her innermost corner of her bedroom (المخدع) is better than that of her living areas and that is better than her courtyard and her courtyard is better than that of the mosque, whereas men it's the opposite. Here you can clearly see that all these places are permissible but there's a hierarchy for the most virtuous prayer location for a woman in contrast to that of a man's most virtuous location for his obligatory prayers. And you see how the further she is from her household, the less the reward and the more cautious and conscientious she needs to be of her husband's or father's or brother's gheerah over her and how that puts them in a more difficult position to protect them and opens the doors for predators even in gatherings of worship or mosques, we don't know people's intentions or what is in their hearts, whether be it good or bad. Prevention is the best form of protection.
I wish brother Ali could have also emphasized more on this topic to really clarify the stance of Islam on these types of gatherings and the rules and regulations of gender or free mixing and it's consequences if left unchecked especially in a day and age where so much shubuhat and fitan are rampant.
Disclaimer: I agree with many aspects of what he said but I feel like many other aspects could be taken out of context because of how shallow people's understanding of a matter can be on these topics. Allah yejzee elkheir and I hope he can clarify more on the matter because I would also stand to benefit more on understanding this topic better.

We are living at a time where holding on to the deen is like hot coal. There are many brothers and sisters that want to attend such events for the benefit of their souls, but for the sake of Allah they may not attend due to free mixing, islamic events should make it a top priority to make these events comfortable for them. The sister you are speaking about may be in that boat.
The brothers and sisters that may not know much of the deen may be unaware that free mixing is not allowed for islamic events, putting things in place where they should be to ensure free mixing doesn’t occur will be a form of dawah for them.
For example, In my culture it is widespread to not have a segregated wedding, which has deceived a lot of people to think that we are not doing anything islamically wrong, so woman and men will try to go into the opposite genders section when we do try to segregate. As we know this is the case I believe the best thing is to have a guard or someone appointed to stop people going into the wrong section. Otherwise it may discourage many people that want to attend from attending for the sake of Allah.
Also brother, there is a way of speaking. I haven’t watched the sisters video but I can understand where she is coming. It may be coming out of love for the ummah and to say ‘get the hell out of here’ is not nice. Advising in a nice manner is more appropriate. As the sister may be someones mother, sister, daughter. Just like you have the love for the deen, there are others that do too and its not nice to hurt those people, they are very special.
I may be wrong the sister may be wrong or even you may be wrong as my knowledge is not as deep as others but alhamdulillah. Allah knows best and if I’ve said anything wrong its from me not the deen.

I have a major problem also with people constantly leading with negativity.
They never seem to see the good always allowing their negative mindset to outweigh the good.
Wallah, people like this just need to just fear Allah, mind their business, and worry about how Allah is going to judge them!
Forever, judging others without evidence or knowledge of where those stand with Allah Is a awful trait to have.
SubhanAllah may Allah guide us all to what is good Allahuma ameen.

It's not piety. It pretty obvious. No free mixing. You are trying to justify it, but then you yourself have men and women free mixing in your talk shows. Stop justifying. It's one thing to mix freely outside, but to now allow this to become a regular practice even at Islamic events, with people turning up to this event dressed inappropriately, as you described, it'll inevitably be a slippery slope that turns those places and events and even masjids/prayer halls into more outside market places.
