Translation of the numbers: Don't gamble on The Strip, they offer multiple times worse odds for your money than downtown and elsewhere. The Strip is home to 6-5 Blackjack, Triple Zero Roulette and machines with the worst odds and paytables.

Yes, I thought saying that isn’t HR casinos all in north Florida was incredibly ignorant. Also, saying something about only 1 or 2 casinos total in south Florida was almost as bad
Twice at Horseshoe I've had a sticky button cause me to not hold a card, and would have completed the four of a kind on the draw, and had a slot attendant come and review the last hand and both times they payed me for the four of a kind. They can even test all the buttons and see if any are sticking or not working.

Slot techs can look at the machine's history if there has been a mistake. My ex was playing .25 video poker at the El Cortez and was dealt 4 two's and before he could hit the hold button, some jerk actually walked by and hit the draw button. He took off and was laughing and my ex went after him but he took off down Fremont. We called a slot tech, he checked the history and let him play the hand and sure enough he hit a kicker. Lesson learned.

Waiting for dinner on a penny machine on $20 I hit $750, I hit a Royal, hit 4 deuces dealt on Ultimate X, 4 4,s on n Dollars and a straight flush on the table game Ultimate Texas Hold em
My wife hit a straight flush on Ultimate also 4 aces with a kicker on double double and 7/8 on keno.

I received an e-mail from The Palms that they are going to expand the brunch buffet from Sat/Sunday only to seven days a week. It's an excellent buffet and includes unlimited mimosas. It's $32, but Palms often has kiosk specials where 1000 points gets you a free buffet, good for brunch or dinner (lobster or crab leg nights not included).
Yaamava alone probably doesn't fall too much behind from downtown profit numbers....yaamava is always packed...hard to find machines to play

I didn't know you could appeal a playing mistake on a larger win. God knows it happens all the time. I can think of one just last year that would have put $800 back in my pocket if I had known. Thanks for this information!!
We have a lot of work to do to get people off the 6-5 blackjack games and the continuously shuffled blackjack games.
With both Tulsa and Connecticut not on the list, I wonder if it is a situation of the list not including any tribal casinos? I suppose they might not necessarily have to talk about their earnings.

@@anthonycurtis4075 Maybe this particular report didn't have a source for the CT data, but because the tribes give a percentage to the state, I'm pretty sure it's public. Maybe not in a completely apples to apples format as the source for the article? Or they just didn't bother to use more than one source of data? I'm a New Englander shocked CT didn't make the list, they surely are big enough, and I don't think they've been setting their slots to 99%, from what I hear.
True. In Connecticut, the deal the tribe made with the state requires them to report earnings AND slot percentage payouts (which have been on par with Atlantic City, which was initially their pime competitor). However, in most places, they don't have to report.
No offense AC but spending 8 hours straight on a video poker machine sounds like a horrific "job".

Thanks for the VP tip. A few months ago, while playing $1 JOB at Venetian, a "held" card came "unheld" when I pressed draw, costing me $25. It's not a lot, but I was really annoyed. Now I know I might have been able to have done something about it.

I think it depends on the denomination. The higher denominations where wins require a W-2G lock up the machine.

Vegas is a ripoff now. However, they have figured out their clientele now. Instead of going once or twice a year people go once every two years. Vegas great at marketing themselves. Younger people go maybe twice then say " I'm good" we will see 5 years from now. The conventions are back and that's helpful. But let's be truthful vegas sucks ( and not in a good way)

It's a different clientele. People who don't mind being ripped off. I have no intention of going back. Used to go 1-2 per year. Loved the LVA book. Now I just find the prices insulting.

@tamara5667 If the prices are "insulting", then *avoid the Strip.* There are still good values downtown and off strip "locals" eg South Point, Ellis Island, Downtown Grand. Also, you can still get good value (eg good Blackjack rules, no resort fees) on Strip if you are willing to bet a little bit higher (eg $50-$100 per hand).

Another great episode. I only know of one casino in South Florida, the Seminole Hard Rock in Ft. Lauderdale. I go to Biloxi Mississippi regularly and there is a great casino scene there with many very nice places including another Hard Rock. I usually go to the Golden Nugget.
Macao did $22.75B in gaming revenue in 2023.
And people say that the economy is going down the toilet. We have record casino profits throughout Las Vegas. There's no slow down at all.
Just shocking but then not so…Resort Fees, higher room rates, bad table game rules, higher table limits, so many reasons!
listening to you guys it seems anytime there is a good VP machine, BJ tournament , Casino promo etc. all the AP Pro's come in and win /take everything. Then the casino stops the promo or removes the game. they average joe has no chance in Vegas and ends up paying for the AP winnings .

If you want to know what was upsetting is when people cut the line! We were at the front of the second part of the line and when we were moved to the first part of the line there was a group of people that got in front of us. When I asked them about how long they were in line, they avoided the question so they knew. Then they were ugly about it.
We were thinking going later on Wednesday would be better or going on Thursday

Correct. We've had phone-presentation capabilities for three years, but not one casino has gone that route yet.
