If Tony Khan was smart he would have Rey Fenix released under the condition of signing an NDA. As for the Medical situation, it really is absurd. The fact that Tony Khan doesn't do this is indeed inhumane. If someone gets injured in your show you need to take care of em ASAP. If I was in his position and someone stated that they had to pay out of pocket for something that happened on my show. My response would be, this was the first time hearing about this but I will pay the talent their medical bills related to the injury on my ring. Then I will make sure to have Medical send me updates for any injured wrestler and their prognosis. The problem is that Tony Khan is not on top of this. He probably delegates it to someone else and said person does not bring this up to him. Tony needs to have a weekly medical report coming to him directly so he can access the situation and be on top of this. The health of his roster is too important not to do this.
The situation stinks. However, having the luxury of selecting your own doctor that you trust, paying the bill, and being reimbursed later, is not too bad.
Now I'm starting to wonder who else feels mistreated and wants out. We know Ricky Starks wants out, we know Miro wants out, we know Rey Fenix wants out, I kinda think Britt Baker wants out,
Devils Advocate here, Medical is handled differently in the two companies WWE: Assigns medical treatment. Chooses doctors and medical facilities and covers the bills. AEW: The talent has to seek and find medical treatment. Then AEW pays that talent back for the medical bill. To AEW: Christopher Daniels needs to be fired if communication is not making its way from the talents to Tony Khan. AEW should adopt the way WWE handles injuries and medical to avoid situations like this. Rey Fenix might as well just be let go, bridge is already burned. Yes an example had to be made that contract tampering is unacceptable but bad PR is the last thing AEW needs right now so just cut your losses and send the guy on his way. To Fenix: I understand the frustration but you signed the contract and agreed to the terms, may not be ideal but this is how its worked for the longest time and it may not have happened if word hadnt got around about WWE dicussions you had while under AEW contract. And WWE will add injury time to talents again at some point (so everyone remember your anger in this instance). And if a regular 9-5 adult can book a appointment and get seen by a doctor. Then a grown man who probably has millions of dollars can surely do the same instead of sitting and waiting for somebody to do it for him.
Its a no win situation with the internet fan here. When Miro was refusing to take a fall, when house of black wouldnt do a job, etc everyone begged Tony to bury them at home and take them off TV until end of contracts. Now he has finaly grabed some balls and iced people are mad. So which do you want all friends wrestling or a business.
The “sloppy shop” comment is ageing just as great as the “poor Walter” has…. The best thing Tony can do is grant him his release, and pay him a shit ton of money to sign an nda.
TK can't book, can't run a promotion, can't even take care of his own employees when they need medical help. What is so great about this guy again? He's terrible.
"I don't know." "I'll look into it/that." HE'S SUPPOSED TO KNOW IMMEDIATELY OR SOON WHEN A SUPERSTAR/PRO-WRESTLER GETS INJURED ON THE SAME DAY. If OC or any ex-ROH alumni gets injured, Anthony Klown would respond immediately. 🤦🏻♂️
In all honesty with Tony Khan & AEW, when real change is made especially with Rey Fenix under lock & key contract wise Tony is full of crap and whatever he says I'll find really difficult to believe. My heart goes out to Ray Fenix, and I'm not the only one who feels this way.
When I was a kid, my dad married a shitty woman. Both of them treated me and my step siblings like shit. Once she was gone, my dad tried to change the narrative that he was the good parent and it was her that was the problem. Problem was, he was still terrible, the problems didn’t end with her. People liked to claim that Punk was the real problem with AEW, but here we are, a year removed and we’re seeing the Tony is awful, on his own because he can be. There’s no one else here to blame, Tony. This is all you.
It really sucks TK is the last shot at an actual #2 promotion in the US. I don’t think it’s going anywhere but it’ll will never be more than a TNA in comparison to WWE ….TK loves to talk shit about WCW and how he’s about to become the “longest running wrestling program on TNT” but he could never hold a candle to Eric Bischoff or Jimmy Crockett when it comes to programming wrestling on Turner networks 😂
I dont think they know what they are doing. He wants people to have fun an wrestle but at what expense? Blood, Dangerous spots, Hardcore matches. He's not telling wrestler's what to do, they tell him what they want to do.
With the incompetence the Jacksonville Jaguars show year in and year out I have no doubt AEW is a circus. They’re lucky they have the funds to keep their hobbies on life support forever
The one thing no one talks about is the reason there’s so many injuries is because there isn’t enough ring time. It doesn’t do these guys any good staying at home and sitting on the couch.
The lack of communication is the root of all the problems in AEW and it can be seen everywhere: booking, storylines, ratings, attendance. It's clear that everyone that is below TK in the hierarchy is just there to get an easy paycheck. I don't blame them. I'd take advantage of a clueless billionaire myself.
Half of us already gave up on the product. Once they traded long term story telling for great matches combined with wwe getting rid of Vince they were done for the most part. People still want that old 2019 feeling back and it’s sadly never going to happen again
Had Punk not shoved Jack Perry and knocked a monitor over, he'd likely be just about finishing up a long stretch in TKs toybox. It's counter productive, because when the Lucha Bros finally appear in WWE they will probably get a larger amount of attention than if he just released them. Look at Jafe Cargill, she left the right way and got a few minor headlines, but she wasn't able to ride the wave of resentment the way the Lucha Bros will be.
The fact that WWE pays for the wrestlers medical treatment if they get injured on the job. In AEW, the wrestlers are completely left to their own devices if they get injured.
Im sure whats going on with aew. Sheesh tony khan. I respect you, but you meed to learn to listen to criticism and get better for the sake of the products. Please dont be petty for the sake of being petty.
Tony is for sure hyper sensitive to control. That IS Modus operandi for psychopaths, but that doesn’t mean Tony IS a psychopath. How can we say that Tony is hyper sensitive to control? His actions. - took over booking and total control of AEW. - pressures multiple talents to sign NDA - punishes talent for failure to comply and obey (Miro, Starks, Sammy, fenix) - the post PPV scrums are consistently used to create and promote the narrative that Tony wants to be perception - when interviewed by Ariel Helwani Tony refused to answer questions and then he literally said “I won’t answer anything that doesn’t serve me” - after brawl out Tony chose to keep up with appearances by answering a media question and saying that “it’s a good thing for talent to have conflict in wrestling” which was to push the narrative control. Then he turns around and passive aggressively creates a new show to separate the parties instead of having the courage to actually do his job and hold employees accountable for violating clear boundaries
Tony Khan keeps proving Cody,Punk,Cornette,Bischoff and even yourself JD all right. Remember Punk had to set up all his Dr Appointments and surgery’s in AEW. I could totally see Tony Khan doing the same with Rey Fenix.

And yet people were saying cm punk is trash in Aew i don't hear yall now cm punk is back in wwe and hes doing an amazing job too
Now I'm starting to wonder who else feels mistreated and wants out. We know Ricky Starks wants out, we know Miro wants out, we know Rey Fenix wants out, I kinda think Britt Baker wants out,
Fightful is the liberal media of wrestling
Tony Khan is just an insanely cowardly Vince McMahon.
this is just the surface stuff there’s definitely more dirt. We can only wonder who else hasn’t gotten the proper treatment
If AEW is that great then why did Kenny Omega go to Japan instead of AEW on return from injury?
Devils Advocate here, Medical is handled differently in the two companies
WWE: Assigns medical treatment. Chooses doctors and medical facilities and covers the bills.
AEW: The talent has to seek and find medical treatment. Then AEW pays that talent back for the medical bill.
To AEW:
Christopher Daniels needs to be fired if communication is not making its way from the talents to Tony Khan.
To Fenix:
I understand the frustration but you signed the contract and agreed to the terms, may not be ideal but this is how its worked for the longest time and it may not have happened if word hadnt got around about WWE dicussions you had while under AEW contract.
Free rey fenix
Does he have any backstage footage of Fenix fighting anyone to air on Dynamite tomorrow night????
How come Tony let William Regal outta his contract to supposedly “Be with his son in NXT” then?!
He let him go under the condirion that Regal doesn't appear one year on TV.
Been waiting for this like its christmas day!
The problem is, they have one guy who never sleeps, trying to do 30 different jobs and is too proud or stubborn to ask or employ some help.
That would be a good move

I run a better show in my 2K promotion😂 💯
Yeah it’s sad. AEW could have been a real number 2. I really thought we had something. So sad
I dont think they know what they are doing. He wants people to have fun an wrestle but at what expense? Blood, Dangerous spots, Hardcore matches. He's not telling wrestler's what to do, they tell him what they want to do.
It’s not a company, it’s Tony’s hobby.
Tony's toybox
TNT is going to be Epic tonight.
It sucks too see aew has fallen so sad once upon a time the feeling was there
With the incompetence the Jacksonville Jaguars show year in and year out I have no doubt AEW is a circus. They’re lucky they have the funds to keep their hobbies on life support forever
man, I love AEW! WTF has happened to TK?? thumbs up always JD
You know full well that this wouldn’t be happening to Rey Fenix if he didn’t want to go to WWE.
THE SAFEST COMPANY IN PROFRSSIONAL WRESTLING!!!!
AEW where there's more backstage issues than story on the actual shows 🤣🤣 Tony 🤡 Ray Fenix and anybody else treated like this deserves better
Half of us already gave up on the product. Once they traded long term story telling for great matches combined with wwe getting rid of Vince they were done for the most part. People still want that old 2019 feeling back and it’s sadly never going to happen again
Jd i can't wait for tonight's TNT ..Should be awesome as always
So where are FTR and Dustin Rhodes now?
Had Punk not shoved Jack Perry and knocked a monitor over, he'd likely be just about finishing up a long stretch in TKs toybox.
It's counter productive, because when the Lucha Bros finally appear in WWE they will probably get a larger amount of attention than if he just released them.
Look at Jafe Cargill, she left the right way and got a few minor headlines, but she wasn't able to ride the wave of resentment the way the Lucha Bros will be.
This all started with big swoll remember
The fact that WWE pays for the wrestlers medical treatment if they get injured on the job. In AEW, the wrestlers are completely left to their own devices if they get injured.
Tk just needs to drop a promo on these guys. Enough with the nice guy stuff. If its F em then say F em
Im sure whats going on with aew.
Sheesh tony khan. I respect you, but you meed to learn to listen to criticism and get better for the sake of the products.
Please dont be petty for the sake of being petty.
Like this comment if you were on CM Punks side from Day 1 ❌️❌️⚡️⚡️
Comme on JD, Tony's getting ready to bring the boom, no time to take care of his wrestlers.
That dark side of the ring episode will be fire
Im starting to think the only reason Starks and Rey are being held hostage is because they refuse to sign NDS's
Tony would probably give Rey a 6 year fully paid contract to sit at home if signs a NDA at this point.
Like Punk said, you have people there who wouldn't know how to manage a fucking Target. So true. 🤦🏽
Don’t forget that Punk said he wasn’t medically cleared when he dropped the title to Moxley on Dynamite in a very short match.
At this point, you could do a whole season of Dark Side of the Ring on AEW
God, he's getting paid to sit at home. That's soo inhumane. Gtfoh.
Keep up the good work JD from a UK fan.
This is a symptom of terrible leadership, and a lack of accountability.
Tony is for sure hyper sensitive to control. That IS Modus operandi for psychopaths, but that doesn’t mean Tony IS a psychopath.
How can we say that Tony is hyper sensitive to control? His actions.
- took over booking and total control of AEW.
- pressures multiple talents to sign NDA
- punishes talent for failure to comply and obey (Miro, Starks, Sammy, fenix)
- the post PPV scrums are consistently used to create and promote the narrative that Tony wants to be perception
- when interviewed by Ariel Helwani Tony refused to answer questions and then he literally said “I won’t answer anything that doesn’t serve me”
- after brawl out Tony chose to keep up with appearances by answering a media question and saying that “it’s a good thing for talent to have conflict in wrestling” which was to push the narrative control.
I’ve been waiting for this
