@Mrs. Chocolate Brown Girl put the baby oil on your damp skin FIRST (typically when your fresh put the shower) then as you're air drying spray on your fragrance. It will last all day. I was taught this because my skin would not hold perfume either. Now i dont have that problem.
As a heads up I am one of those people who perfumes don't smell right on! I talked to a perfumer and she said I should stick to fragrance oils because a lot of time it's the alcohol that reacts poorly with my chemistry! So I mostly buy fragrance oils now, and it has made a HUUUUUUGE difference. I really like The Fragrance Shop if you are looking for a fragrance oil place. I've heard the Oil Perfumery was good too (but I've never shopped there personally).
AJ M the oils are still not potent enough for me. They do not have the longevity and delivery of actual perfume. That’s why you’re supposed to buy parfums. They are more expensive because they’re oil based. Only Eau de toilettes have more alcohol in them.

I love Turquatic for example but there's no parfum version of that so my options are perfume oils in that fragrance or nothing. 🤷🏿♀️ Also some parfum just doesn't smell like the edp... probably because the fragrance is so concentrated... and edp is actually BETTER for sensitive skin than parfum (and I can't use edp so I'm kinda screwed). Perfume oils are a good alternative option if you want to smell nice but your chemistry doesn't play well with denat alcohol is all I'm saying. Also I like that I can sample the fragrance before buying. Most perfume oil websites offer samples sizes in all of the scents.

One thing I've learned is that using the lotion version of the fragrance (if there is one) and/or shower gel/soap is a great alternative to the actual perfume itself. There's no alcohol (or at least there shouldn't be) and the scent tends to stick around longer and in a softer, more intimate way. Oils are the same way and I honestly like them better. I wear fragrance for me, not for compliments, so I don't really care if other people can smell me or not lol. I also don't want to smell myself all day long (that gets super irritating to me) so I don't get it when people complain about a scent not lasting more than 6-8 hours long.

I work in women’s fragrance and when I first tried YSL Libre I thought I would get sick of it but then I finally got it, I’ll spray it in the morning and a few hours later I’ll get a slight scent of the afternotes and I just love the way it smells when it dries down, then it became one of my favorites! Black opium became a favorite of mine too! All the YSLs id say last the longest, smell the best and are the best quality!

I love your collection! A few I think you would like based on what you have is Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle, Kilian Love don’t be shy(the perfume Rihanna’s stylist said she wears) you would probably like other Kilian scents like good girl gone bad and woman in gold(it’s more expensive than Tom ford though). Mugler alien essence absolu(discontinued but you can find it on eBay etc). I also think you would really enjoy Mancera and Montale perfumes.

Yes! I was literally debating for days between those exact two fragrances, but I chose Heures D’Absebce because it smelled more different than other scents that I have. I was super pleased with my decision😍 lol
I need to really learn the names of “notes” for fragrances because I feel like it would really help me beforehand. I just buy them and be disappointed when it doesn’t blend well with my natural body chemistry. There are certain types of smells that always smell good and last on me, but I don’t necessarily know why. I need to study up lol. Thanks!

I thought the same so this is what I did and it has helped...although I admit I have not totally figured it out😊. I watched a few frag reviews like this one and decided what I might want to try. I went to a few shops and asked to smell scents I thought I might like. I looked them up on fragrantica.com, but you can go to any site that will give you the scent breakdown. I made note of any scent note that was similar in the fragrances I liked and the ones I didn’t like. I went to Appalachian Valley Natural Products and Piping Rock online and I purchased some of oils (notes) that way I could learn what notes I love and which I don’t care for. Anyway that helps me when I am shopping for a scent...and use fragrantica to check the notes for blind purchases. 😁Anyway good luck on your frag journey...from one novice to another.

I love your collection! A few I think you would like based on what you have is Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle, Kilian Love don’t be shy(the perfume Rihanna’s stylist said she wears) you would probably like other Kilian scents like good girl gone bad and woman in gold(it’s more expensive than Tom ford though). Mugler alien essence absolu(discontinued but you can find it on eBay etc). I also think you would really enjoy Mancera and Montale perfumes.
Also BDK-smoking rouge, Initio-side effect and Montale Arabians Tonka.

Yes! I was literally debating for days between those exact two fragrances, but I chose Heures D’Absebce because it smelled more different than other scents that I have. I was super pleased with my decision😍 lol

I need to really learn the names of “notes” for fragrances because I feel like it would really help me beforehand. I just buy them and be disappointed when it doesn’t blend well with my natural body chemistry. There are certain types of smells that always smell good and last on me, but I don’t necessarily know why. I need to study up lol. Thanks!

I thought the same so this is what I did and it has helped...although I admit I have not totally figured it out😊. I watched a few frag reviews like this one and decided what I might want to try. I went to a few shops and asked to smell scents I thought I might like. I looked them up on fragrantica.com, but you can go to any site that will give you the scent breakdown. I made note of any scent note that was similar in the fragrances I liked and the ones I didn’t like. I went to Appalachian Valley Natural Products and Piping Rock online and I purchased some of oils (notes) that way I could learn what notes I love and which I don’t care for. Anyway that helps me when I am shopping for a scent...and use fragrantica to check the notes for blind purchases. 😁Anyway good luck on your frag journey...from one novice to another.

Girl, a few days after watching this video I picked up a small bottle of ysl libre and OMG I am in love!! I’m SUPER picky about my scents and will not wear something that’s common but after applying and letting it settle, just WOW!!! Beautiful, just like you ♥️
