Might be an old video, but I DO believe an AK is still an AK.
Thanks for this video. The pin retainer spring in my Chinese AK is slightly different, but this video gave me all I needed today to take the guts out of my AK. Had never done it before, in all these years.
    Thanks-!

Because I shoot corrosive ammunition out of this rifle almost exclusively, the retaining plate allows for easier removal and installation of the FCG. The "shepard's hook" isn't necessarily hard to install, but just takes too much time to do it all the time/each time.

nsz85: Thank you so much for posting this video..!! I have an older WASR 10 (2003) and I just replaced the old slap-happy trigger with a Tapco G2 and Kreb's retainer plate. I held my hand over the trigger when I removed the pin and the spring didn't fly like it did on you in this video. No problems getting smacked with the hammer spring. The only thing I did different was I completely removed the "hook" (which was easy) before removing all the old parts. What a freakin difference this G2 makes..!! Thanks again.!!! STLSNIPER.
