Wow 8:26 the mix of Up There and Beyond the horizon is crazy, didn't notice that, even If im on my second playtrough, wonderful work here. I think i really start to realise that i never heard such "alchemy" between characters and music in a video game, can't wait for the next episodes ! A MASTERPIECE 🤯

I absolutly love these videos. The music are so beautifull and having real musicians who can add theire own take(like impro with bagpipes or even the passion they put in playing) lead to such beautifull things. I'm definitely interested for more behind the scene part (like the synths you used as mentioned), maybe a whole video on that? With realisation and how the ideas came to you, more explanations about the instruments (like what you said on bagpipes, really interesting) and maybe a presentation of the different artists that played for you ?
To me Arnaud's theme has a big Morricone vibe, think The Good The Bad & The Ugly and the harmonica melody. I don't know if this was intentional, but it definitely fits his character, being this sort of badass outlaw, 14th century cowboy. Great work love the pipes!
Beyond the horizon is one of my favorites for sure. Such a turning point for Amicia and it translates so well in the music. I got chills! Thank you for the lovely and memorable music, Olivier 😊Also, please share about the synths!

As a fan of Bear McCreary, it's nice to see another composer joining the ranks of Bagpipe lovers. Though as you say in the video, these bagpipes are a bit different to the stereotypical British Bagpipes we are used to. A musician being open to trying new instruments in their work surely is always a good thing whatever their specific profession. It's really worked well here. The music for Arnauld manages to be threatening, mournful, and even at times vaguely heroic depending on the needs of the story.
I find it cool you use themes from the previous game. Beyond the Horizon was my favorite theme.
Enjoyed this Walkthrough and loves it alot! Bagpipes instrument is 100% fit on Arnaud with drums sound really loves it! Thank you so much for doing composer walkthrough! ❤
Vraiment super de suivre ces vidéos, j'ai aimé l'histoire mais je l'ai vraiment ressentie vécu grâce à la musique, Je me réjouie des prochains chapitres et d'avoir les paroles des autres musiques.

This was a great episode!! The amount of tension, be it between Amicia and her mother, or Amicia and Arnoud, is simply exhilarating. I think you encapsulated that tension Very well!
As a side note, bag pipes are one of my favorite sounding instruments ever!! When I first heard it it immediately made my adrenaline rush. I REALLY like the non-scottish take on them too. Very unique and that, in and of itself, sets Arnoud up to be quite the unique character. Very well done on this one!! 👍

After creating the soundtrack for Requiem, is there anything you wish you made different in the Innocence to better tie in these two games?
I’ve made requiem based on innocence so I guess I’m at peace with Innocence.

Je viens de finir Requiem et, pour éviter les spoilers, je dirai simplement que j’y ai laissé toutes les larmes de mon corps, et que la musique y est pour beaucoup. Je voulais en apprendre plus sur la composition magistrale de ce jeu et j’ai découvert avec plaisir cette série de vidéos. Autant dire que je vais la suivre avec assiduité. Il ne se passait pas une session de jeu sans que je reste quelques minutes sur le menu principal à écouter le thème d’introduction, mais à l’issue de mon expérience, je pense que je ne pourrai pas réentendre un morceau de cette OST sans être bouleversé. Merci pour tout, bravo pour tout, et au plaisir de suivre le reste de ces vidéos - et de votre œuvre musicale.
