You don’t disable v-sync because it’s bad. V-sync is great for pretty much every game, but Clone Hero doesn’t need it because tearing’s not going to be noticeable at 2000 fps.
This video was released in 2020. Why do so many people still think vsync is a bad thing? 1:07 You even said what it does. It matches the refresh rate of your monitor. If your monitor can only show 60fps and your game is trying to push out 1400, guess how many frames you can use? 60. If anything, turning off vsync makes performance WORSE because your monitor is being flooding with more information than it can display. This creates a visual issue called tearing. Vsync insures that the gpu will "wait" for the monitor so that it doesn't get fed more information than it can show. This makes every frame near perfect meaning consistent visuals and a great feel of responsiveness. The only 2 times you wouldn't want vsync is either A: your gpu cannot play the game at a minimum of your monitors native refresh rate or B: a particular game is not working correctly with vsync resulting in performance degradation. If turning off vsync is the first thing a "change these settings for performance" video talks about, find another video before trusting any other setting changes.
