    I love everything about these videos. The speed is easy to follow without having to replay or fast forward, backgrounds are not too distracting, straight forward delivery of info and just really practical organization. Thank you!

    I absolutley LOVE how you present this information. You don't waste anytime and just get to it. LOL "It's not an AI machine to take over the world" I laughed OUT loud... because I have been totally afriad to hit the start button for JUST that reason LOL

      I forgot about that line, LOL. I think MOST people feel that same fear as you. I did, and sometimes I'm still scared to press start when the machine acts up and my finger hovers over the stop button, just in case 😁

    Your videos are awesome. Your method of teaching works!!! I’m new to machine embroidery, although I’ve been sewing for 52 years. I look forward to learning all I need to be a successful embroider ❤️🧡. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

    Learning all the time and I’ve been embroidering a while. Hopefully with fewer problems now. Cross wound vs stacked threads was a new one for me. Thanks.

      sorry for the delayed reply. 😁 Cross-wound vs. stack-wound threads took me about 15 years to learn as well!

    I truly enjoy your classes. You are such a great instructor without too much or too little. Nuts and bolts and explain for newbies. Plus, you think of things to teach or share that no one else even touches on. Really appreciate your time and effort in doing these.

    you make your video clear & concise I'm getting use to my Singer but it's noisy. I like my Brother 425 but it only has a 4x4 and has to be connected to computer

    Should I be pulling the bobbin thread up? I have never done this,I have a baby lock flourish, first model? Thank you for making these videos, I have been embroidering for a couple of years but I’m still learning from your videos, thank you.

    • @BallyhooCreations
      @BallyhooCreations  3 года назад

      I think the Flourish handles that for you. You only need to bring threads up if you have problems when the stitching starts. It's more of a problem on older machines or new ones under $1000.

    Also, is there any reason to not tie on new thread?

    Thank you for the video. Does the bobbin has to be the same color as your thread ?

    • @1packatak
      @1packatak 3 года назад +3

      Usually no. One exception would be something called free standing lace, as you see both sides. Another may be on some fine fabric like batiste, sometimes used in handkerchiefs or heirloom fabrics.

    I love your videos! I just got my machine and have spent the last three days watching youtube videos. I am so happy to finally find yours! They are the best! So I am at this point of your third video and I tried letters and a built in design and the letters are the color of the bobbin thread. I tried a rainbow design and it has color but you can still see the bobbin color between each color, which in the design it doesn't look that way. What am I doing wrong?

    • @BallyhooCreations
      @BallyhooCreations  2 года назад

      The top thread is too tight compared to the bobbin. Check the threading on top and bobbin. Make sure the thread "snaps" into the bobbin area so you have good tension under there. Is the bobbin in backwards? Or the top thread might be tight, usually because it's getting caught somewhere or the tension is set too high. Let me know if you still have problems and I'll try to help.

    How do I decide on a bobbin color since designs have a lot of colors?

    • @BallyhooCreations
      @BallyhooCreations  Год назад +1

      Usually the back of the embroidery doesn't show. So we use a single color in the bobbin. Most bobbin thread is either black or white and it's thinner than the top thread. Choose whichever one is going to look better with your threads just in case some sneaks up to the top. IF you're doing towels or something where the back shows, you can change the bobbin with every change of the top threads if you really care how it looks on the backside. (this usually requires adjusting your tension) Most people just stick to white or black bobbin thread for the whole project.

    since I have a new machine that trims the threads, will I encounter problems if I leave the bobbin thread at the back when I start?

    • @BallyhooCreations
      @BallyhooCreations  9 месяцев назад

      If your machine has the tie-on or tie-in feature and cuts the threads, you don't need to pull threads to the top like I did in the video. That's just for older machines without the cut/knot feature. Leave everything at the back and let the machine take care of that for you. For your other question: The only time you might want to turn off that function is with specialty threads that the machine can't cut easily. Example - I use some heavy acrylic threads where I turn off the cutter and tie-ins or else things jam up. If those thread tails in the back bother you like on the back of a towel or something - look into a thing called a thread zapper, or carefully use a lighter to melt them.

    When it's more than one color, how do we know the order of the colors to thread the machine?

    • @BallyhooCreations
      @BallyhooCreations  Год назад

      when you purchase a design, it should have a separate document in the .ZIP file for the color order and you load your threads in that order You can also look at your machine on-screen menu when you load the design on the machine, and it will give you an approximate colors in order but that can be harder to figure out sometimes because some machines don't display the colors correctly.

      I plan to create in-the-hoop machine goblins and gremlins in the next few months - because whynot? We joke about them all the time anyway. 😂
