Well it depends really if you’re doing a certain practice to a Specific Buddha, or if you want you can just place a Shākāyāmuni Buddha for beginning or just pray to any Buddha you want and choose which one you want on the altar! So you can chant and do your Buddhism

    Buddhist is not religion
    If you believe in karma
    You’re your own Buddha

Buddhism is a religion that is known throughout Southeast Asian. Its the way of living and how to live in one lifestyle that would not repeat in the life of cycle. Karma is part of want you did and it not in no way to show you how to live. That why you have Buddhist to teach and train your mind and thoughts to be thankful of the present.....

Budhhism is never and was never a religion. Buddhism is a way of life. Buddhism is about how to reach enlightenment.Buddha never claim he is God, but Buddha acknowledges other Gods in heaven.
Budhhists respect and worship the Buddha statute as one would respect an esteeemed teacher., or a honorable leader or king.
Hindusim is a religion, Taoism is a religion

@@elmirbratic1211 buddhism is a philosophy. Buddha had no religion and he never wanted to be treated as a god.

Taoism is also not a religion in the western sense of the word.
One can be a taoist and worship no god or gods, and one can be a taoist and worship any god, not just the chinese ones.
The reason why chinese taoist worship chinese deities is because they were already worshipped before taoism became a thing.
However, they see them as inferior to the Dao, and many of them were humans who achieved immortality, not like the gods of europe.
They are seen as examples of morality and devotion, just like the bodhisatvas.
      The same goes for hinduism.
Hinduism is a very generic term invented by the outsiders to indicate all the countless beliefs and traditions of India.
The practitiones of these beliefs prefer the term Sanatna dharma.
      That is the thing tho.
      These are TRADITIONS.
They don't really have set rules etc, they only share various cultural beliefs.
      Like dharma, reincarnation etc.
      However, all traditions are different.
Some are theists, some are atheists, some are monotheists, pantheists, politheists etc.
It's more a way of life like buddhism, since the hindu traditions encompasses all aspects of daily life.
something a christian, for example, does not do.
