I really love the law of polarity and the idea of unity/oneness. For me it is the most powerful Hermetic law. Without its understanding it is impossible to create you reality. My experience, at least.
I like the definition of Neale Walsch which states you have to experience negativity to fully enjoy its opposite.

Wow I really learnt something today from the illustration been made I could discover that we have the ability to choose and act on whatever we want for our physical being to be happy in the inner mind the spiritual. Just like accomplishing one wish you could tell how good you will feel knowing that you can get what you desire. The trick is the desire comes naturally we just have to fix our mind in that inner desire and explore it through the body, the mind is in control of the body activities generally. When we learn how to listen to our intellectual mind and act towards the good part and what we desire, we will find out that life is a beautiful thing.

This is exactly what I needed to be reminded of. This is so important to keep at the top of mind. That desires are FROM GOD (higher self/inner man/etc). The word desire means exactly that. De = of; sire = lord or god. OF GOD!
