Thank you for all your videos. I regularly use them as a guide for my YJ. I'm in the midst of doing the dash speakers and you didn't lie, they're not fun to do! I pulled the dash and they're still a pain to get in and out out! I'm hoping the juice is worth the squeeze when I'm done!
All that trouble putting them in, I still haven't wired them up. I got some other cool plans in the works coming soon. You are welcome, I'm glad the videos help you!!
Thank you for an excellent video on the YJ. Your many videos on the YJ have saved me many times when I was faced with tough repairs and upgrades, showing me the easy way.
Just replaced my speakers with the same ones on my 95 yj. Great sound!! I took the dash apart to remove the old ones. Your right...total p.i.t.a! But i also replaced my cowl weather strip since it was the factory original. 2 for upgrade.
Crazy thing is .. I still haven't wired them to my radio. I've got an idea to put a subwoofer in my rig as well. I'll wire it all in when I do that. Thanks for checking out the vid!!
“I can get to it if I remove the speedometer”. If I remember right, you’re talking about the removing the tachometer not the speedometer, which is very easy. I had a professional stereo shop do mine that’s always book solid for weeks. I told them I wanted all the old parts and boxes from the new items etc. When I went to pick up my Jeep, I inspected everything and noticed both front speaker tweeter were hitting the grill, they assured me it would not hurt or change the sound at all. When I got home, I read the speaker box and installation instructions and there is a spacer plate your supposed to use, they didn’t. I didn’t want to take my Jeep back to them because there were other issues in their installation. So far as they said no issues, just makes me uneasy. Great video. Thanks
Eh, I goof up often in the vids. Sometimes I catch it .. sometimes I don't 🙂. As long as they didn't crank the nuts too tight it shouldn't be an issue. If the speaker that I installed had come with spacers I would have definitely used them, the 1/4-20 nuts served the purpose though. You are welcome. Glad you like the video!!
Nice job. Thanks Chuck. I have been wanting to change out my speakers forever but just don't have desire to do battle , besides I hardly ever listen to the stereo
Love your channel I’m in tenn also 97 TJ cluster guages have a mind of there own Literally done all the trouble shooting I know of…… Hard wired the harnesses in the back of the gauge Gee I need help
Hey there! Glad to see ya in the comments again! I totally agree, they are a total pain! I'm not sure what was on the engineers mind when they designed the placement, it sure wasn't making it easy on the owner.

@@Poweraddicts Keep up the great work. Thanks
Gave me a good idea of what to do. Thanks
You are welcome! Glad the video helped.

They are a pain!! I'd been better off buying one of those pods to go below the dash.
Thank you for the video!
You are welcome! Hope it helped.
Love your channel
I’m in tenn also
97 TJ cluster guages have a mind of there own
Literally done all the trouble shooting I know of……
Hard wired the harnesses in the back of the gauge
Gee I need help
I cut out my speaker grills so I can mount them into the front but I had my dash completely apart
Honestly that would probably be the simplest way to do it. Sometime I may demonstrate the Sony kit that has the little plastic jig.
I want to put some speakers in my 94 yj but it did not come with speakers, and it does not have the studs for them, so I don’t know what to do
What speaker wire goes where? I got boss speakers and I have 4 wires from the factory plug white, white/black, black, and brown.
Mine didnt have the factory radio installed so I have no idea
Yj dash speakers are the BANE OF MY EXISTENCE!!! Ok, that might be a slight over exaggeration but yes they are a GIANT PAIN IN THE 🍑!

I gave up on changing my YJ's dash speakers. I just lug around a bluetooth speaker wherever I go.
LOL ..I understand!! I have a bluetooth speaker as well, that isn't a bad idea 🤔.🙂
Been doing that, but between needing to recharge and a poorer quality of sound, I'm pretty tired of it
Spee-ometer! 😂
Got ta have a little fun while doing the commentary :-) Have a good day!
Hell where was this video 3 years ago when I did mine 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
On my to-do list 😂. Have a good one man!!
I think I would just carry a boom box 😢
It would be easier!!
Just get rid of them. They are in the worse place for sound. Put them in the door. Even in the kick.
I agree! I'm gonna make me a pod system to go below the dash.
