I as a German have one question, can we have one song from melfest don't matter which song but one pls. 😅
As a Swede i understand. WE love Germany BUT im sad to say Germany will be bottom 3 in ESC 2024 again. Sorry :(
Nah bro i swear Isaak will for sure get more than 0 points. But for real being an ethnic german living in both countries (grew up in Sweden) its so wild how Germany with its great music industry never produces a national selection close to the quality of sweden. Just send RAF or GZUZ next year , give the esc a shock atleast.
I dont understand the people saying that the quality in this years Melfest is low. I think it has been really high! Most likely no ESC-winner but really good songs!
You can have Scarlet! At this point I’d be happy just to see them in eurovision no matter what country they represent because it’s most likely never gonna be our boring country…

This is M&M's year to take it. They got the whole package: Staging, song and artistry. I already liked them last year, but they had no chance against Loreen. I think this year is even better and they have learned from last year. It would be fun to see a strong duo win also.
My runner ups are Jacqline and Maria Sur. They're also good performers putting on good shows and the songs are nice. I know these are the pop/house songs that we often send, but I think the strongest entrees should always win. And the pop songs are the best right now.

Many of these just feel generic and done. Including the favorite to win.
I like a lot of the artists but most of these songs are just not it.

Honestly I don’t see why people are saying this years Mello is weak. Predictable? Sure but it is not weak imo. We’ve had alot of nice songs in 2024!
Either Unforgettable or Effortless. They sound like something that were taken out of Dawn FM. Que Sera would be great too.

The funny thing is , with the running order .. when Medina has performed , you think the show is done but .. then you realize we have three songs left .. They should close the finals !! ....
About Danny , Julia said my comments about Danny in 5 seconds 11:57 ... It´s so sloopy and poorly done by Danny ... when you could have Scarlet with Cirkus X in the finals .. No , he should not be in the finals when he performs so bad !! ..
Smash into pieces! It's about time that we, a country that's big in metal music, sends anything that represents that.
Until recently, Melodifestivalen has totally disconnected from that kind of music. Smash into pieces and Scarlet was our biggest hope this year.
Maria SUR is clearly the best choice! GREAT song!
So, Its a Loreen free year....which makes it WIDE OPEN!! who´s going to win . For me?....Well, 1 Danny ( The song makes me so happy that I wanna cry!) 2. Jaqcueline - Yes its
Generic as f..ck!!! .... but feels like an international pop hit allready!). 3. Medina (Havent I heard this at the Football Championships before???) Doesnt matter! I love football and I love party! ...I just LOVE it!!!!! 4.. Maria Sur..... The Princess has grown up and now sounds and looks like an international star! 5. Marcus and Martinus- Yes it will probably win...and I am not sad about it . Its a really really good staging . But for me it sounds like "Air 2.0"......I am waiting and waiting for that climax.....that just never arrives ..... It will be interesting to see if our neighbours are routing for Sweden in Eurovision or not????? :-)
I agree Adele... It is soooooo fun to see two Norwegian artists - completely ignored by the Norwegian audience and producers. - run awaty from Norway to Sweden and gets all the help they want wich they didnt get in Norway...and now they are TOTALLY LOVED by the Swedish public and they are moving everything they have in Norway ro Sweden since they feel soooo accepted in Sweden. In Norway they only were small children to the auidience. Nobody beleived in them........
Visually it is still as good as ever, songwise this edition is dire.
From the songs that made it to the final, I’d have Medina, Smash Into Pieces or Jacqline as my winner.
The twins are possibly falling too much on the music video side of video vs stage show (tbh I thought Loreen did last year too for me) and we’ve seen how that can end for Sweden, poor Benjamin. Maria Sur I could understand winning if she does, but there’s something a bit soulless about it
I kinda want to go to SVT and Swedish voters and say, look, you’re in the final anyway, take a risk, do something different.
Also, the run off vote was a disaster. They need to rethink that, again.

I think this year the juries will decide the winner. Since I think the voters will be to spread out , there is no Loreen to collect all votes. At the end I still think the twins will take it

I still think Jay has the best voice in this final, he was definitely the most anticipated artist in heat five other than M&M due to him having the most dominant idol runs we've seen then going radio silent until recently (unless you followed him seriously)
Dotter had 'lost her voice' and still singing ok🇸🇪

I’m going to be honest about M&M, the only good thing i have to say about their number is the performance/staging, song wise Air was much much better! I don’t think it would be as big if they had different performance

I’m actually really happy with this year’s finalists. I haven’t felt that way in a while. I like most of them and I honestly can’t decide which one I like the most. It’s a shame that we won last year because if we hadn’t won we’d honestly have a big chance at winning with one of these songs instead. (I just don’t think Tattoo has aged that well even though Loreen was great).

I feel unforgettable isn't strong aenough as a song. But wow was it absolutely incredible to watch live in the arena!
Maria Sur,Marcus & Martinus,Danny Saucedo,Cassio Peia & Smash into pieces = Best songs to send. Jay Smiths song is best for early morni g coffee music at some bar,pub or at home. Its wonderful but it will not work in Eurovision. Msrcus & Martinus song has copied a lot of riffs etc from Faithless "Salva Mea" and "Insomnia" listen and you all hear it. Its sad😢
After this year's Eurovision.... i would say Que Sera by Medina should have won Melfest.
I hope that Jacqline wins. She is only lacking of charisma. She sings incredible but she should show more of that.

Jaquline scored WAY lower than I thought she would. Effortless was the only song this year I immediately fell in love with. Instant hit. I'm honestly super surprised it almost didn't get any points.
Ofcourse the Twins won but favorite and made me very emotional was Danny following him since the start and him telling what the lyrics about.
I would so much want Sweden to come to ESC with a song in Swedish that is not the usual overproduced Nordic pop...
I'm pretty sure M&M will win, but I really can't enjoy that song unfortunately :(
First year in a good while that I'm feeling like anyone could win. Super exiting. Looking forward to the final.
Lliamos voice is wonderful but the song is sooooooooooooooo boring....i totally hate it. It needs more power and more tempo. I want to see more of him but more uptempo songs.

The good thing about Sweden is, they're the best at generic music. When they get it right, it's amazing but they're going to have years where the songs will fall a bit flat. This year I'm not really feeling any of the songs but I kind of hope Danny or Maria Sur will win. For me, the best thing about Melfest isn't the music, it's the staging.
Nice way to express this 😄 I agree, I think Scarlet were the only ones this year who had what it needs, but they didn't have the smooth perfection that the others did (maybe that's similar to what you describe as generic). More edges, but also way more interesting imo. But they went up against Dani Saucedo and Dotter, that's just difficult for anyone.

Tbh, I don't get the hype for Marcus and Martinus... oh wait, I know why they are popular, mostly among teens and girls...
Also, I have no idea how people can call Smash Into Pieces song as generic or just okay? Their song will have the best chance to win in Eurovision, I have no doubt about it.
Is not my type of Musc, but Cazzi Opeia got the most dangours Reflen in whole Melodifestivalen, there are something good and weird over the song.

I don't think it's open at all. Marcus and Martinus have the best package by far. The rest are good but they all miss something. Too many returning artists that come back with a worse song. Overall I think it's a very strong final with incredible stagings.

It’s actually the artist that decides how much money they themself wants to put into the show. SVT gives all artists the same budget but if the artist want they can put in more money themself. That’s why more famous artists often have ”bigger” shows.
Most of the entries are Mäh for me. Heard it before, to much, sounds like song writers like 5 of them sat in a basement writing lines such as " so happy that you found me", jammed together different expressions such as Que sera, La vida, enchante, le dance, oh and mentioning backseat of your car, call the police, with a physical dance show that to me sadly associate with real crimes committed in backseats of cars. Nah Dotter should win, i don't care if this song is no Bulletproof but she will not be around forever, its a more advanced song and it is only two songwriters her and her partner. They are more invested than the others and they know what they are doing. She should have won long ago.
All these songs are boring in my opinion. Nothing really stands out. Most of these songs are good but non are great at all. We have no chance at all this year.
We are hosting, we dont need to do well. Besides we dont know what audience will think in May, they might do well
