Very nice. Have a blown head gasket in my 03 Dakota and being low on cash can't afford to fix it right now. With my right shoulder issues replacing the head gaskets is going to be a pain as well. Honestly might just be easier to do a swap since the old one has 220K on it. Going to a 08 to 12 4.7l will get me something with about 70 to 80 HP more as well as a little more torque, the only major issue is the exhaust manifold is a little bit different so the exhaust will need to be fixed and the intake needs a bracket since the 08 was drive by wire and the 03 isn't. Computer should hook up just fine though as mine is the 4 plug NGC already. Now to find a salvage engine and may as well pull trans too. Then finding somewhere to do the work. There is no way I am giving up this truck though. It was one of the only major things my wife and I purchased together and we have a ton of memories in it together. She passed away Feb last year so it means a lot more to me than the sum of it's parts.

@@Onewheelordeal I have used something similar for head gasket repair. It helped but not 100%. I am limping by for now. Waited a few days then put them back in. Then a few weeks later did the other side the same way. The service manual talks about pulling the master cylinder among other things as well to do the head gaskets. I'd rather just put an old 289 HiPo in it but this is a neat swap.
Cant find a price on the hyper fiber material?
www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/m20ProductDisplayView?catalogId=10002&langId=-1&productId=1252040&storeId=10001
Ha was about to add the link and it popped up when I went to reply. The actual company's website looked kinda deduct when I tried to look tho so I'm not sure if it's still being made
I got better search results with "hyper fiber cloth"
One word for that massive brake booster? Hydroboost.
that is an incredible headache XD
Modified log splitter
These guys are great, they don't talk like every statement is a question. "I'm Ron Burgandy??"
I put a 407 Chevy 800 hp in my Mazda b3000... its funny that I didn't have to do the crap you did with that Mazda...
BTW install block hugger shorty headers...
How about a ls1 in a new vw beetle with 6spd
Quarter inch clearance between the booster and engine, and call it good? I'm guessing they're gonna touch with just mildly-spirited driving...
work on that dent ford in background 💕💕
Do another 5.9 build but make it have 450 hp
I know its the same as a ranger, but that mazda badge just kills it for me
about to say the same thing...
When did a 4.6 become massive.
Sad about the a/c, maybe a smaller set-up?
Lmao, harder than a frozen hot dog
b tenn4 that’s what she said
Lol
i see no benefit to this swap at all...thro a mild built 351 in it..this way you make more power..it will fit much better and you dont have to hack anything to make it fit..and still keep the a/c
But this particular 4.6 liter is MASSIVE lol
@@Onewheelordeal massive in physical size..not in cubes
Looks like a fun truck
That thing is going to be loud as hell. Nice.
I think everybody on this show needs more DJ voice practice.
i wanna meet the voiceover guy so he can do my phone greeting.
should have did a turbo lima or ecoboost 2.3
Why not a coyote??
All that work for a 300hp I'd hate to have to work on that thing
It's a toy not a daily driver. So probably not a huge issue.
They throw a supercharger on and IIRC, it ends up making around 600 wheel
Don't factory 4.0 have 300 hp?
200ish on a good day
210, but yeah, what he said^^^^
The OHV Cologne 4.0 V6 in this generation had 160hp from 1998-2000, and was replaced by a SOHC Cologne 4.0 with 207hp for 2001-12.
Oh wow ok. Thanks guys
no, 210. The 2011 Mustang used a new 3.7L DOHC that made 300+
so this is Mazda Ranger or a Ranger Mazda or what is it.
Mazda B-[whatever] built by Ford
@@abpsd73 Yes it is the BT50 which was built along the same line as the Ranger but what narked me was their "click bait "headline V8 into a Ranger , used car dealer antic.
You don't need mufflers 4.6 sound so much better strait piped. Let it roar.
the ford explorer 5.0 v8 fit better in the ranger/mazda pick up
this UV light also kills bacteria and virus wherewer it points
no A/C is a deal breaker for me aswell, I guess if u live in Canada who cares
2ndsspz only women care about a/c lol what a cry baby
That dent side 🧐
That’s not a ford it’s a Mazda ! Hahahaha sarcasm
If you're gonna make your own crappy crushed bends, why bother with the DOHC engine to begin with?
I wonder how much it would cost on eBay to turbo a measly 300hp out of the original engine
yeahitskimmel its more about having a wider power curve and torque
It’s a Ford Ranger
That motor will need new coils and head cover gaskets I've had plunty of these motors they always go bad
You call that a massive truck I'm putting a 460 in a 99 Ranger now that's a real truck
Dope😎🤘
Deleting the A/C is a real chickenshit move. You've just taken a lot of the pleasure out of driving a performance based vehicle. I've had to go without A/C before until I could fix it, and it's awful. No interest in this build now. You guys just take the easy way out rather than solving the problem.
I want the horsepower and the daily driver extras
Hold the phone
Wait a minute
Stop everything
What's that in the background that looks to be real close to a 69 Ford
My father had one What are you doing to that thing let's hear more about that yeah
I love the Rangers actually that's what was on my dad's truck F100 which I do believe was a Ranger and I bring them over to every one of my Rangers the F100 reflectors
Man...I really like this show...but I wish you guys would talk much less and show much more of your work.
You've gotta spend 1/3 of your time watching commercials on TV too to get the full experience
