i bought that van from texas and brought it to concord ga.had for a year or so before selling it to the guy in forest park its gona make a nice one glad to see it again
'79 GMC!!! My dad still has his '79 GMC pick up that he bought off the lot in July, 1979. I learned to drive in that old truck. I have always wanted a '79 GMC van to go with it...and a 4x4 with the hightop to boot! Cannot wait to see this thing running down the road. You guys just earned a new subscriber!
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS Chances are its a ford front axle then as well. Probably a Dana 60 unit but I'd have to eyeball it more to tell for sure. Might matter only when looking for wheels if you do anything after market but probably has GM outers on it to ensure it was GM compliant.
I still have my 1979 G30 SWB 4x4 Pathfinder Van. Brought it and picked it up new in January 1979 New. Currently putting in a newly rebuilt 405cid. Have driven it all over the West. I have those floor mats too !
Had one of these beasts back in the past. Got it from the USGS . Used and abused. Got it running again, and mounted an 8' power angle plow on it. Best damned plow truck ever. Until you got it stuck. Like trying to recover a mired down tank. 3-5 mpg with the plow on. 8mpg unloaded and empty. Just a beast.
First...how in the world did we go 5 hours, 36 responses& 182 thumbs ups(including mine) & no 👎....that's a amazing stat by itself🤣😎🤜🤛 Now to be serious...Ace is really too cool! Between what you're able to turn up & what seems to be available in the South, there should be alot of content in the future! Thanks for bringing us along & definitely tuned in !
Welcome to vanning. Be prepared for the kidnapper jokes and having it called the Scooby Doo van. Not even The Mystery Machine. My ‘84 Vandura has been called it more times than I can shake a stick. And probably tons of offers to buy it. Also, new subscriber 👍
Reminds me of the Chevy G20(light) my brother and I learned to drive in. It was a 75, plain jane my dad bought new to haul his racing motorcycles around in. He says he went to the dealer for a 6cyl, 3 on the tree, but left with a light G20(5 bolt wheels, BIG brakes, 350/350 and a 12 bolt) because they taped a lot of $ to the hood(creative marketting, huh?). I finally sold it in the 90s for wedding money, and on balance, I'd say it was a good investment(twice!), but I still miss it. Same color!
What a badass oddball conversation.piece find So whose is this one? Got a backlog of "ubt's new project" expensive trucks brought home lately man! Lol.. And i Miss a coiple.of videos and i missed a.lot i guess ... "the shop"? Whaaat?...Whats that about?
Van life bud I love vans I didn't always till I got older an bad back an realized that comfort an lux matters in a ride so yup now j lobe a van an bigger hotrods id love to own that chevy
Very rare van. Not impossible to recreate but very nice. Lots of fun. Going 40 over in the small block might be tough to cool. Make sure you have at least a 4 core rad.
Exciting project guys, I’m currently working on 4x4ing a 92 g20, get lots of shots of how pathfinder mounted the drivetrain to the “frame” of the van Looking forward to the next video Thanks for the suggestion youtube
@ikenbomb! yeah I looked up the kit at the time. I ended up getting a 1984 gmc jimmy and everything fit up. Had to build my own front hangers and bought 2 inch wheel spacers. Ended up costing just under 6000 for everything. Super happy with the result. And I parted out the rest of the jimmy and got some the drivetrain money back
Looking good Robbie can’t wait to see it when you get it all done and on the road pretty rare find 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼!! Btw I’ll be starting up my channel on my c10 by the first , it does not look the same from when it was on submit my truck big thanks to UBT.
A few years ago I found a black 78 short 4x4 half ton, original black interior, and black exterior, it was on a used car lot, for $1,995 I had him start it and the 383 with brand new duel exsaust, and it roared to life, I sold it for 7500. 5550 dollar profit, now I buy and sell cool chevs, and I deliver pizza at night. My collection my hauler is a red orig paint 454 long bed, square one family, 152k mi., 2001 black 2door zx2 off road package perfect interior S10 Blazer, and a 95 obs short, Cali show truck, funky 90,s paint lays flat on it balls..
There's one video from early on on the channel but we're going to be shooting a new one. For now, check it out: ruclips.net/video/mt52Bct9jv4/видео.html
I have a buddy's grandad that has a c10 grave yard in my town. I could only see a couple of the trucks for years till I started driving a big bucket truck by there to see the full extent I will have to try and send a pic some time
What ever happen to the van did you ever get it going ? Really interesting like to see a good over view of how the front suspension is set up cool cool rig 👍🇺🇸
Get on it please lol. These old vans have so much potential. G10 hot rod, G30 tow and work rigs, G20 vandyra 4Xs with solar, bed, everything else and the kitchen sink. Mines an 82 G30 that was an employee of the forest service so it was a government van 82 to the end of 2019 when he died. I’m going half hot rod, half 4X(solid front axel but remain 2X), built 350 until it goes (might be a while as it’s compression is spot on), and wife’s got the inside looking like a tiny home. So here I have basically a self sufficient rig I can drive on snow, ice, off road, I can tow whatever, I can take showers, play video games, sleep (6’1 and fit side to side in back at an angle), etc. I’ve owned several trucks and suvs yet this thing is far more useful then them all put together. More vans please.... your channel kinda is what got me started into automotive hobbies for the first time in my 37yo life despite my father being a mechanic and neighbors all growing up lived to race...
YO! I'm in California building a 1991 pathfinder 4x4 rally van right now. 454 to 4l80e D44 front 14 bolt rear. Should be up and running by mid January.
What are the odds??? I recently went to pick up some stock wheels w good tires so I can drive one of my cars back home...I saw this exact van sitting in their back yard...told em get it running and I'll buy it🤣
I’m sure your engine builder knows but if I’m not mistaken the 400 small block had over heating issues and when bored out got worse because the water jacket was so close to the cylinder wall? Just something to think about or ask about. Keep bringing them back to life.
A 400 can handle a .040 overbore. Just have to make sure the cooling system is up to par. I'm running a built 406 in my 79 K20 and it never comes close to overheating. Not even in the summer when I take it off road
They weren't all 1 tons. My first car Wasa 77 Chevy half ton shorty pathfinder. I'm still looking for it to buy back. It's somewhere in ga too. You got me excited when you said you're going for a pathfinder in Atlanta thinks maybe it would have been mine
Dumb question, why didn’t you load the crate motor into your truck first? Maybe I missed something. The van just needs a 14 bolt rear from a P30 dually camper with 19.5” dually rims and a Dana 60 dually front end.
Pretty sweet van! A guy I use to work for around 20 years ago had a Ford Econoline van from the late 80s with 7.3 diesel and it was a dually. I still run into him once in a while I gotta ask what happened to that van. Does anybody have a good LS harness guy? So many places these days I don't know who to use the last one I got I wasn't happy with at all. Thanks
How about some stock looking steelies that are 20's or whatever the size is on the blazer? Those wheels painted white would be perfect with a little lift from # rough country suspension
i bought that van from texas and brought it to concord ga.had for a year or so before selling it to the guy in forest park its gona make a nice one glad to see it again
'79 GMC!!! My dad still has his '79 GMC pick up that he bought off the lot in July, 1979. I learned to drive in that old truck. My dad had a 76 Chevy van 1 ton with the 400 it was 4 wheel drive also that thing was a beast
I bought one in PA. Some years ago, towed it back to CT. Converted my 86 gmc 1 ton van to 4x4.
Awesome!
The np205 was put in Ford, chevy and Dodge, the ford ones are drive dropped, if it's passenger drop it's a chevy t-case
It's driver drop to clear the engine, i believe. Believe that's why I'm told it's a Ford 205. Thanks for the info.
Welcome to Vanning Brothers. Let's get that boogie on.
YAYUHHHHHH
I still have my 1979 G30 SWB 4x4 Pathfinder Van. Brought it and picked it up new in January 1979 New. Currently putting in a newly rebuilt 405cid. Have driven it all over the West. I have those floor mats too !
I have a 90 Chevy short van,perfect body zero rust.Just picked up a 75 3/4 ton 4x4 truck to do my 4x4 conversion.
Awesome! Makes for a great recipe.
I am looking forward to seeing more videos on this one!
Can't wait to see some prorgress on this unit!
Memories had a 85 conversation same color drove everywhere. Looking forward to the build!!!!
That will be cool I had a 1977 chevy pathfinder van short box it was awesome in the snow. I just found pictures of it a couple of months ago
Wow I love that van . Its same year as my k30 crew cab and same engine. 400s are awesome
Sweet! Engine is at the machine shop still but we're going to be making some serious progress on it soon.
I love it. I love vans. I want one of these 4x4 conversions so bad. Would be a perfect camping rig. Can’t wait to see the build

These 4x4 Van's are soooooo cool you dont see to many in Indiana I would love to have 1 keep us up to date on the build
Totally! I'm so pumped on it
Best sell ever was a 78 short bed black 4x4 original black interior, was 1,995 on a car lot I sold it for 7,500.
Can't find the same van ever again.
Got to love a van.... and a 4x4 one ton.....SCORE
Welcome to vanning. Be prepared for the kidnapper jokes and having it called the Scooby Doo van. Not even The Mystery Machine. My ‘84 Vandura has been called it more times than I can shake a stick. And probably tons of offers to buy it. Also, new subscriber 👍
Thanks man! Already enduring that lol
Just wondering what ever happened to John where you had done the blazer over at,dont see him in any videos anymore

Man! rocky’s stepper is nice.
I’ve been peeking in on it. Glad to be keeping you company for a few weeks.
What a badass oddball conversation.piece find

Come on and finish it. That things incredible.
What a cool van, it would look good with some KM 3's on it. Loved the cinematic opening shots too!
Exciting project guys, I’m currently working on 4x4ing a 92 g20, get lots of shots of how pathfinder mounted the drivetrain to the “frame” of the van
Looking forward to the next video

Van wood look bodaviuos. Painted like A TEAM. VAN
I hope you post more videos on this van. I'm looking for a van like this to do a 4wd conversion on
A few years ago I found a black 78 short 4x4 half ton, original black interior, and black exterior, it was on a used car lot, for $1,995 I had him start it and the 383 with brand new duel exsaust, and it roared to life, I sold it for 7500. 5550 dollar profit, now I buy and sell cool chevs, and I deliver pizza at night. Robbie have fun working on the van and to the crew at UBT have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄!!!!!!!!
The party hat on that beast is awesome
I am really digging the van. Awesome find.
Nice build high top cool 😎 did pathfinder have a name for them like quigley. Super trak?
Sweet van. It's got all the good stuff drivetrain wise.
What ever happen to the van did you ever get it going ? Really interesting like to see a good over view of how the front suspension is set up cool cool rig 👍🇺🇸
Still have it. Waiting in the wings.

Right on! I hope I don't regret not going 4l80. Please shoot me an email and lets chat about how you're making the 4l80 work. unitedbytrucks@gmail.com
Nice van. Can’t wait to see it on the road.
Cool van...what a nice project you have there, nothing can you guys make it work. What happened to John..bring him back it's a cool guy..
Thanks much! John has decided to move on to other things so you won't be seeing him around much anymore.
Subbed! Love channel and looking forward to seeing that beastly van!
Awesome! Thank you!
What a sweet van! I saw the Washington plate, and was excited that it was near me, but then I saw your GA address. Sub’d, gotta see it on the road!
What are the odds??? I recently went to pick up some stock wheels w good tires so I can drive one of my cars back home...I saw this exact van sitting in their back yard...told em get it running and I'll buy it🤣
Awesome video. Been patiently waiting for new content! Worth the wait. Can’t wait to see it done
I’m sure your engine builder knows but if I’m not mistaken the 400 small block had over heating issues and when bored out got worse because the water jacket was so close to the cylinder wall? Just something to think about or ask about. Keep bringing them back to life.
Cool van Robbie. What’s up with the “new” shop there. Is there a vid I missed on it?
I wouldnt bore that 400 out, i had one overheated easily because of the siamees cylinders i blew multiple head gaskets
You mite want to use that 350 stroke it
A 400 can handle a .040 overbore. Just have to make sure the cooling system is up to par. I'm running a built 406 in my 79 K20 and it never comes close to overheating. Not even in the summer when I take it off road

So true! Hope you find yours one day
Kool can’t wait too see how it comes out 👍👍👍
Killer van!! Thats a road tripper for sure👍🏼
Another great find in Ace Vandura, and I love Rocky's Squarebody Step Side #steppersrule
Que the music Evan.... I wanna know what the heck Rock said?? I think he said This Van "Rocks" boom bam biscuits love the van want it congrats
I tried to buy this and you scooped it from under my nose!!!
Noticed the off roading rocker rust Sweet ride though.
Oh yeah!
Great find! How big is your shop? Going to start building my shop this spring. Thinking a 60x60 would be great.
Im finally finishing up my 69 f100 build this winter (hopefully) the next hardest think is deciding what to dig out and build next
Dumb question, why didn’t you load the crate motor into your truck first? Maybe I missed something. The van just needs a 14 bolt rear from a P30 dually camper with 19.5” dually rims and a Dana 60 dually front end.
Nice save..
This is going to make a great project Van👍👍🇨🇱
I'm kind of excited to see it all done it will be interesting
The floating axle on the rear. Rare to see one van width. A 14 bolt I would guess?
Yes, it is. Pathfinder used the one ton rearends.
Did you get a new truck? This van build should be awesome! I was thinking of doing a 4x4 van in a A- team theme? So there’s an idea for ya.
Pretty sweet van! A guy I use to work for around 20 years ago had a Ford Econoline van from the late 80s with 7.3 diesel and it was a dually. I still run into him once in a while I gotta ask what happened to that van. Does anybody have a good LS harness guy? Awesome find.
Robbie we need a update on ol pearl
Coming soon!
Love it, those floor-mats are killer!
Never knew that they offered that back then. Kick but van!
Congratulations! A great score 4 sure
Another sweet project!
How about some stock looking steelies that are 20's or whatever the size is on the blazer? Those wheels painted white would be perfect with a little lift from # rough country suspension
"Ace Vandura" LOL
Sweet truck,
I've wanted one of these since I seen one when I was in high school!
Can't wait to see live at #LST2021 buddy.
Did this one get finished yet.
My dude that's a cool van . I would like to get me one to do a camper van for hunting.
Good score
Nice project
I'm not sure if u can 40 over a 400 the walls are very thin, but let us know.
Dang, thought this was gonna be a Vemco 4 drive 4x4.
Awesome find! Is there a feature on Rocky's truck that I missed?
@Barry Davison Thanks! Happy Holidays
Stay tuned, we have one in the works.
That kind of van does not exist in Cincinnati cant believe how clean it is
What’s the progress on this thing?
not much recently. The original 400 block was bad so I'm trying to figure out what I want to do for the drivetrain
So from 3 years ago what happen to the van?
That is gunna be soo sick!!
Lost me at 4x4. Man, I wish you were lowering a 2 wheel drive. But still, van looks good still. Awesome video.
i finaly was given the 85 ill be doing a Ratrod build with a ls
Already an ace vandura in Edmonton
It's cool. There can be two!
Didn't chuck norris have one of these in one of his 70's movies with a eagle on it??
It was breaker breaker where he roundhouse kicks the shit out of a whole town of inbred hillbillies
But his was a Ford 4x4
I'll be damned I'm headed to Virginia to pick this same van up this week!!
That’s awesome! Sold it to a fine fella there who actually did what I wanted to. Hope you enjoy!
Algorithms are crazy. Opened up RUclips, it suggested this video. 5mins in I’m like no freaking way!
Yea, buddy all sorts of stoked!
